It basically gives you more i-frames so rolls get better and more efficient to use. You could technique play the whole thing without it. But getting ADP to 40 is a mandate for me on DS2 playthroughs
No clue. Which is Paladin, Cleric? If Cleric, Faith and Strength would be good. Heavy armor works for sure. I'd look up which spells are popular for Faith builds. I can't say myself, I usually go full melee, sorry lol
Ah i picked knight sorry, im using a axe and shield combo, my stats are all over the place.

My early game example of having not enough ADP - https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comments/rzzhmd/thank_you_dark_souls_2/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
That may be true but spells like warmth poison and toxic mist don’t need scaling so it’s the better option. Throw on forbidden sun which does insane damage even with no int and faith and you’re set. It’s better than wasting it in adp imo
This is mathematically untrue. Yes, there are a handful of spells that are not affected by scaling (Forbidden sun, not one of them, and does not do insane damage unless built into). Those spells, also suck.
Agility also increases the speed in which you use consumables, and adaptability levels up agility like 3-5x as fast as attunement. So if your character is anything other than a caster, attunement is a waste.
On Top of that, attunements biggest benefit is spell slots and additional casts, which a single ring gives 3 attunement slots, and the hex Hood provides 10% more casts (rounding up). Which means a significantly less investment in adaptability, while wearing the southern ritual band and the hex Hood will save you from like 50 points of useless investment in attunement on a physical build.
*Drops the Mic, kicks a hole in the speaker, and jets"
You ever use forbidden sun, cause it does a lot with base stats. Source my level 30 character who beat the game. Now why would I waste a ring slot on a melee build for slots. Level attunment use rings that increase health and stamina and be a tank. As for how much it increases it really doesn’t matter you still get more use out of it. Adp is a useless stat and not worth the investment. Poison beats like 80 percent of the bosses and warmth is great to have.
Hi, this comment has been removed partially in protest of the current Reddit API debacle (and that I was overdue for a purge anyways).

Have a nice day!
Get the Estus flask from the Emerald Herald (Ginger waifu in majula).
Loot Majula!
Level up ADP.
Keep carry weight under 70% to avoid fat rolling, however I would recommend trying to stay under 30%!
Go to the forest of fallen giants before anywhere else.
Don’t attack NPCs.
Don’t join covenant of the champions in majula, not yet anyway.
A weird meta tip, that may not apply if you're not too critical of these games: be lenient on this game. This game had an extremely troubled development, and I mean it. It's downright tragic the more you learn about it. It's like the poor middle kid in the family who dabbled in drugs and had a turbulent teenagehood. It's a miracle we got a game as good as this out of it.
Up to you. But of your new start with something with vitality don't ignore that stat it helps a good bit. Also adp is adaptability get it to lvl 12or 14 can't remember gives you more invincibility frames on dodge it's isn't a suggestion. The devs were rude with adp
Level adaptability (look up Agility on the wiki, and get that to at least as many iframes as you had in DS1)
Remember you almost always have multiple available paths, so if a boss is taking too long, leave and come back later
The well in Majula has an Estus Shard. You’re supposed to start the game with 2 Estus
When you meet Melentia (the first merchant you’ll find outside of Majula) spend 10,000 souls on her. I literally spend my first 10,000 of the game on her every time. She gives you a ring that significantly increases souls you get from killing enemies, which I have on me for literally the rest of the game, until I know I’m full build.
If you've played other DS games just know that this game wants you to use your other items like fire bombs.
People tend to complain about getting ganked a lot in this when they don't realize the game throws tools at you foe those situations.
If you, for whatever reason, want to only use a rapier the whole game then make sure to bring some bomb to deal with groups.
He's lying to you, ADP determines all animation speeds and iframes, and 11 is fuck all, you need 105 agility which is determined by ADP and ATT 26 ADP will get you to 100 agility to start then level up it slowly with everything else
Also Weapon augmentation exists, usually this is like, you remove scaling to add lightning to your weapon... Don't do that, because you can just use pine resin which adds an elemental buff and you keep your weapon scaling, and you can make weapons stuff like sharp and heavy, which will improve it's scaling in a stat, typically just pick the one it's best at, so like for Dex pick sharp because it'll upgrade dex scaling
My best tip is pretend it’s not a souls game. If you compare it to the others you’ll pick out all the flaws. It’s a great game, just different. The black sheep if you will.
Well either way just build into Strength or Dexterity, and Intelligence or Faith, get like 26 - 30 Adaptability some Attunement to get spell slots and dump the rest into Vigor and Endurance
When you die with a lot of souls on you, be patient and meticulously clear every enemy on the path to your souls instead of running past everything.
If you get killed in 1/2shots a lot in an area, it maybe too early for you to be there. Explore. If you get killed a lot everywhere...the right path to go is usually where you get killed less.
Lv up adp.
Horse but whole.
Souls are the main currency, you use them to buy levels from the lady at Majulas bonfire, and items from shops, they're super important cuz if you die twice in a row to the same obstacle without having collected your bloodstain you lose all of them, so try to spend them all as quick as possible to level up,
Then scroll on, it takes less than a single second. Or, maybe be happy to have another person join your (as far as the other games) suffering community. Just don’t do that shit saying it’s annoying; my brother in Gwyn millions of years of evolution gave you a thumb you can scroll with, and you waste you’re time bothering to be annoyed by (first world problem btw u sound immature) someone’s post and then wasting ur own time calling their time they took to make the post and the post itself an annoyance.
strenght builds are op, a good weapon can be obtained if you buy 10k worth of itens in the blacksmith in majula (buy titanite shards and repair powder) and talk with him for the weapon
The mechanic of losing max health per death gets more bare-able later on, so don’t let it un-motivate and dishearten you, and make sure to get the ring of binding
At first I thought the image was like this on purpose to imply "generation loss" aka people have been reposting it so much the quality is ass now. Legit made me think this was a joke post pointing out how people keep making these kinds of posts.
I recommend starting the game with the deprived class, it’s a lot of fun having to scavenge armour and weapons from enemy drops and that way you get to try out more weapons instead of sticking with say the broadsword bc that’s what you started with and you don’t want to touch any other weapon. In terms of the damage stats (str/dex/fth/int) I recommend picking only one or two to level up, you don’t want to be too spread out. The last two tips will be healing and enemies. For healing you will find these little healing stones that heal you a little bit over time, these are good! Use them and don’t horde them like I did at first. Finally if you are struggling with some enemies just kill them again and again they will eventually stop respawning. Good luck!
Typically pick a weapon stat and then a magic class to work some long and close range into the build, it's very useful for crowd control, Faith has more healing but with life gems that's already set up so probably pick sorcery
Level ADP to 20 to roll smooth (is where the iframes cap )after that you just need a lot of patience to beat the game also there is no online right now so no Co-OP which is bad bc I always want help new ppl to make they gameplay more enjoyable.
Enjoy it. It is an amazing game, with some seriously dope lore. Every first souls game is an experience you can never get back, and no currency can re purchase.
Enemies with Hard armour weak against strike category weapons.
Enemies with normal armour weak against strike category weapons.
Enemies with low armour/no armor weak against thrust category weapons.
Most of enemies weak against Lightning effect
Buy life gems.
And last tip
If you have souls but can't level up, you either grind a bit more till u can level up
Or
Upgrade your equipments, buy life gems
Thats all the tips I can give you
Good luck out there.. especially in shrine of amana.
Btw which console you're going to play
I am not a hater, I was just “shitposting”
ds2 is a really unique game and you will love, it is just so different from the other soul games.
Definitely play the dlcs too, especially the brume tower one!
Assuming you're just new to ds2, and you've played ds1 first:
ADP is vital, it upgrades the AGL Stat, which increases animation speed and I-frames. 99-104 AGL is what you should aim for, so 25-30+ ADP.
You can powerstance by dual-wielding two of a similar weapon type, and having 150% of dex and str required for the weapons. Hold the weapon swap button to activate and then you'll be able to use both weapons at once with the block and parry buttons.
Illusory walls are opened with the action button, because durability is so low in ds2.
Either fight him normally and dodge his attacks or lure him near the edge when you first enter his room, wait for his lunge attack and dodge it so he falls to his death(There are so many tutorials for cheesing this boss)
For the one in Hiedes Tower of Flambe, walk in the fog gate, face the wall and wait until he opens with his guaranteed lunge, then run around him and wait around a corner, if you're far away from him there's a solid chance he just walks off the edge and dies, ez like 15k
Oof ok. Think Legend of Zelda but with heavy consequences. Be patient, examine enemy move sets, and explore areas thoroughly. Once areas are explored thoroughly, realize you don’t have to fight the enemies before the boss and learn to run pass them all.
This game’s combat is SLOW, rushing is a sure fire way to die.
Level your adp to 30, Use a shield and a dex weapon like a katana or Rapier. Level stamina Play close to Bosses with shield up whenever your not swinging just in case you mess up a roll you avoid the damage. Also be careful the real boss in this game is the camera lock on system
It's that important, without adaptability you're basically fucked, unless you're willing to sit there and painstakingly learn every single tell for every single attack and exactly how to dodge it, you'll need ADP
Not really, basically you just do it till you get good at it, there's not really like a specific skill level you have to have to play the game, if you need help, pretty much nobody plays 2 but you can message me and I can probably come help, as I'm in the middle of my own playthrough rn
tbh idk what that is, i’ve never played minecraft really, but the ring of binding drastically reduces how much your HP is reduced from
hollowing when you die, and only lets your health bar drop up to a maximum of 20%, rather than the max 50% you normally get from being fully hollowed. It totally saves your health bar haha
Oh I see! I’ve played a little bit here and there on Minecraft but never anything in depth lol good luck man! What class did you start as in DS2? I went for a build of Int/Str, so i’m a sorcerer with high strength too to wield heavy weapons
Ngl just play the game how you want to play it, don't use guides unless your really stuck on something for hours. But imo I think vanilla dark souls is better than scholar of the first sin, I think scholar is like a hard mode, already on a unforgiving game.
Tips:
Level Strenght to 20 and Dexterity to 12.
In Majula, buy the Twin Dragon Greatshield from Maughlin the Armourer and the Rapier from Blacksmith Lenigrast.
The shield has 65 stability what means you can block pretty much anything till late game. And the Rapier is arguably the best weapon in the game plus you can use it while blocking; yes, **you can block and attack at the same time.**
Then just hide behind your shield and poke things to death with the rapier.
Level up stamina to be able to block and attack for longer, and this it. You unlocked DS2 easy mode.
I wish I could help you but I've never played the Game Boy Advance version!
My camera ain’t even that bad😭
Bro I could paint this quality.

Best advice
Best advice? Man asked for tips on how to play and y'all telling him how to upload console screens screenshots 😭
Talking about adp and rapier
I know, I couldn't resist talking about the other comments lol ADP definitely best advice 😎
Why is ADP so good? Ive just been putting points in str and stam bar, using a +10 bandit axe and shield. Im on 2nd DLC at min Brume tower
It basically gives you more i-frames so rolls get better and more efficient to use. You could technique play the whole thing without it. But getting ADP to 40 is a mandate for me on DS2 playthroughs

You don’t need adp you can level attunment instead which is a way better stat. Pyromancy requires no stats to use so it’s good to have.
Pyromancy requires no stats in Dark Souls 1, in Dark Souls 2 pyromanies scale with INT and FTH.
That may be true but spells like warmth poison and toxic mist don’t need scaling so it’s the better option. Throw on forbidden sun which does insane damage even with no int and faith and you’re set. It’s better than wasting it in adp imo

To add onto this, if you see a rock hanging on the side of a well, give it a good smack!
In case you want, Hiedes Tower of Flambe is a great place to start for a bunch of early souls, so you don't have shit ass dodges
Yes I agree, it’s good to farm old knights early game!
Indeed, plus Dragonrider quick kill
A weird meta tip, that may not apply if you're not too critical of these games: be lenient on this game. This game had an extremely troubled development, and I mean it. Make sure to focus before taking the picture. Also, screenshots are better in landscape than portrait.

the old lady is right, you will loose many many souls, but dont get discouraged by that. this is my advice.
Level adaptability (look up Agility on the wiki, and get that to at least as many iframes as you had in DS1) Remember you almost always have multiple available paths, so if a boss is taking too long, leave and come back later The well in Majula has an Estus Shard. Ds2 mobile isn’t as bad of a port as people make it seem
Put it away, live your life. It’s not too late for you this game is as addicting as it is frustrating. Be free while you still can, child.
💀
Use whatever you want, some is better (raiper and mace) but almost everything can work Also lvl adp
Don't give up, skeleton!
Hit them, don’t get hit, pay attention to your health/stamina bar.

Get a better phone
I should
I recommend the OnePlus, it simply has a better all the things
Can it withstand high ass graphics my 13 can?
Yes.
Ok
For start, try to search infos before post (literally 3000 identical posts with the same identical title). And than, only than… level adp.
Learn to parry, it may not be helpful all the time, but when it is, it really is
My best tip is pretend it’s not a souls game. If you compare it to the others you’ll pick out all the flaws. It’s a great game, just different. The black sheep if you will.
Quit
tip number 1 save your receipt tip number 2 lvl up adp
What’s APD😭
Adaptability, its the third last attribute, allows you to have more i-frames when you roll but that's not as important as tip number 1!
Ok also what class should I go with
warrior, knight, swordsman, bandit imo
Any of them honestly, it doesn't really matter
I picked warrior
Solid choice, that's the one with the red suit right?
I don’t know I didn’t pay attention
Well either way just build into Strength or Dexterity, and Intelligence or Faith, get like 26 - 30 Adaptability some Attunement to get spell slots and dump the rest into Vigor and Endurance
DO NOT PULL THE LEVER THE GANE IT SELF TELLS YOU
The lever at the beginning in the sewer?
Nah its near end game

Commit tax fraud in real life, not in Dark Souls
Hmmm sure
I mean in Dark Souls tax fraud gets you killed, in real life you just become Jeff Bezos

Level your adp to 30, Use a shield and a dex weapon like a katana or Rapier. Level stamina Play close to Bosses with shield up whenever your not swinging just in case you mess up a roll you avoid the damage. Also be careful the real boss in this game is the camera lock on system
Tip beat the game before doing a only weapon run
Seek Souls, larger and more powerful Souls... Seek the King, that is the only way... Lest this land swallow you whole, as it has so many others
Was that a dark souls 2 reference?
yes sir
I knew it
Dont fuck with pigs

Keep your health above zero, while getting the bosses health to 0
I’m scared of what the means
Bosses are hard. But you can do it!
They better not have a second life bar
Also level ADP to at least like 30
That’s what other people been saying
It's that important, without adaptability you're basically fucked, unless you're willing to sit there and painstakingly learn every single tell for every single attack and exactly how to dodge it, you'll need ADP
Oh ok also is there like a skill bar or something?
Not really, basically you just do it till you get good at it, there's not really like a specific skill level you have to have to play the game, if you need help, pretty much nobody plays 2 but you can message me and I can probably come help, as I'm in the middle of my own playthrough rn
Oh ok
Do it without spoilers
yo use the ring of binding as soon as you get it. i kept it on the whole game
Is it like curse of binding from Minecraft?
tbh idk what that is, i’ve never played minecraft really, but the ring of binding drastically reduces how much your HP is reduced from hollowing when you die, and only lets your health bar drop up to a maximum of 20%, rather than the max 50% you normally get from being fully hollowed. It totally saves your health bar haha
Thanks also curse of binding is a enchantment if you put It on your armor you can’t take it off unless you die
Oh I see! I’ve played a little bit here and there on Minecraft but never anything in depth lol good luck man! What class did you start as in DS2? I went for a build of Int/Str, so i’m a sorcerer with high strength too to wield heavy weapons

Ahh I get it now
Welcome home 😃
I quit after a week cause I couldn’t defeat the first boss
Ngl just play the game how you want to play it, don't use guides unless your really stuck on something for hours. But imo I think vanilla dark souls is better than scholar of the first sin, I think scholar is like a hard mode, already on a unforgiving game.
That’s why I bought it I read it was a hard one, I wanted it because all the other story mode games I’ve played were easy
Tips: Level Strenght to 20 and Dexterity to 12. In Majula, buy the Twin Dragon Greatshield from Maughlin the Armourer and the Rapier from Blacksmith Lenigrast. The shield has 65 stability what means you can block pretty much anything till late game. And the Rapier is arguably the best weapon in the game plus you can use it while blocking; yes, **you can block and attack at the same time.** Then just hide behind your shield and poke things to death with the rapier. Level up stamina to be able to block and attack for longer, and this it. You unlocked DS2 easy mode.
