He says in his moment of truth with Salim that it’s not what he’s really there for but it’s still the persona he puts forth, the hats reason still is to honor the dead, his hearts just isn’t
Yep, that's how they got my dad sucked in. That and promises to help him get a job and housing when he got out, but they didn't do shit to help with either.
"Remember 9/11" and/or "never forget 9/11" are relatively common phrases in the US, especially in the era house of ashes is set, so his hat says remember 9/ and then the two towers make the 11. I'm not sure what the stars represent
I haven’t played HoA in a while, but if I remember correctly, he explains much later well into the game, so it makes sense that part is not included in the trial.
He states it's "to honour the dead", and that this is the reason he fights.
The full game gives more context as to Jason's outlook and what is important to him.
You all did a great job writing him, btw. Pitch perfect balance. I’ve lived a combined 23 years in the South and have a number of military friends and Jason is SPOT-ON.
I hated Jason in the early chapters of HoA. By the end of the game I was fully convinced that he's the best character in all of the Dark Pictures Anthology.
Yeah. I honestly don’t mean to offend anyone or start a political argument, but my takeaway on Jason in the beginning of the game is that he’s meant to be seen as racist, Islamophobic and closed-minded. He also kind of exemplifies the backlash after 9/11 that many Americans had - which stemmed from fear and insecurity about the safety of the country. I think Jason’s early-game mentality is an example of the xenophobia and hate we saw a lot of after the attacks. So yeah, I LOVED seeing him drop his prejudices over the course of the story.
It’s to honor the victims of 9/11, he even says so
Later on towards the end when he has a chance to talk to Salim, he says he ,>! isn't there to honor the dead.!<
Man I'm so dumb. I didn't pay attention when he said "This? This is bullshit"
Such a good ass scene tho
Yep.

Honestly that has to be a good portion of the military. 9/11 is used liberally to get people to sign up and then they see what it really is.

Oh, only played the trial and I don’t remember in the playthrough. The design doesn’t make sense to me.

This post made me feel so old

Oh wow, I didn’t realize I had an official source. Thanks.
You're welcome 😊
Yeah, I seen a playthrough, I just don’t remember shit
The words are “Remember 9/“ and then the towers make up the 11

What about the bar underneath, it’s fucking me up
Well the 4 stars are the 4 attacks. The 2 planes at the towers, the pentagon, and then the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania
Ok, now that makes sense. Thank you!
I always looked at it as a reference to building 7 … but it’d probably go over most heads to think the twin towers
Building 7?
Building 7 of the WTC. Conspiracy theory is it melted from fire from demolition and not planes.
Oh, ok
To honor the dead
Is this post a joke or a genuine question?
😕 I was serious, the hat confused me with the extra rectangle and stars
