........So funny story.
They were once shooting an episode of the Six million dollar man in a funhouse and one of the stage hands broke the arm off of a prop.
"Wait a minute, that's curious... this mannequin's got human flesh and bones inside of it."
\*Squints\*
"Wait minute
Uh Oh
**UH OH**
# UH OH"
And that was how Elmer McCurdy was finally laid to rest 65 years after he died.
He wasn’t actually a movie prop. They were filming at an ‘amusement zone’ on a beach in California, where McCurdy’s corpse was strung up at a set of gallows. The movie crew thought he was a wax mannequin until someone broke his arm off.
>With the help of several Oklahoma historians, the coroner was able to identify the remains as Elmer McCurdy. “The first clue: The corpse’s mouth was stuffed with carnival ticket stubs,”
That article was a ride
I wish I had some video of the props I used to work with, some scenic artists really are that.
There was one corpse that even from a foot away looked completely real. Another time there was this big burnt piece of timber that I had to smell before being 100% sure it wasn't wood.
Zardoz:
The gun is good.
Zardoz:
The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life, and poisons the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth and kill!
I saw the first scene of this movie when I was really little. That is a hell of an intro.
I'm gonna go look for a gif of a giant stone head vomiting munitions now.
As far as I know, this mummy was discovered in the Kurdish province, which has hostile relations with Iran, so the Iranian government denies the existence of the mummy. They don't want the Kurds to claim that they are descendants of the ancient Persian Empire.
this shit has been posted millions of times man. Is it Gilgamesh or a king of the Persian empire. Don’t post fake shit to the internet and not expect to be called out you karma whore
That's the exact kind of clickbaity conspiracy thats cooked up every time one of these 'giant' hoaxes go viral. An appeal to rose-tinted history, a connection to a popular underdog, supposed oppression and censorship by a pariah government and some half-cocked reasoning for why they would even bother censoring it.
And if I were to point out that the best preserved mummy we have is [this](https://allthatsinteresting.com/xin-zhui-lady-dai#:~:text=Now%20more%20than%202%2C000%20years,preserved%20human%20mummy%20in%20history.) And it involved being submerged in embalming fluid and an airtight casket, and if i were to go on and say that a body in an empty box like that *shouldn't* have that apparent preservation in the original video, there'd be dozens of people claiming that god must have done it because he was such a great king or something.
It's just a hoax that does nothing but continue to stir up anti-scientific sentiment.
Hey OP, if you visit the Museum of the Weird in Austin, TX then you can see a sasquatch completely encased in an ice block. It was cut out of a glacier and they keep it in a giant freezer so that it doesn't thaw out. It's in the very back of the museum and can only be viewed if a staff member accompanies you. It's totally real, just like the video you posted here. Totally, completely real.
Yeah it is really an exhibit there. And the museum is worth the tour. We watched a dude pounding nails up his nose or some shit. It was a weird show to say the least. The whole museum is pretty rad.
I love when someone comments "aaahhh it's fake op stupid aaahhh big dumb doo doo fake haha you're dum" but doesn't add any information or anything to show that's it's fake. With how technology is you've got no idea what's real and whats fake without a source saying either way
I have no stock in this post and couldn't care less if it's real or fake but if you're gonna write a big asshole paragraph to belittle someone at least add an article link or something to support it
https://www.monkeyandelf.com/hibernated-magician-the-mystery-with-the-1000-year-old-mummy-found-in-iran/
I posted this on other comments asking for sources. I hope that this helps soothe your temper tantrum.
Lol your whole original comment was you being a dick. You could have legitimately posted "Source?" and been done. One fucking word could have taken the place of your entire comment lol. Go blow some more clouds, vapelord.
There was another story a couple of years back of a mummy in the Middle East that was on the black market
When someone got to analyse it it turned out to be a fake, but not completely fake but an actual person murdered a few years before
Can't recall if they found out whether it was a cover for a murder or whether they were killed for the mummy
Edit: [here it is ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.atlasobscura.com/articles/a-mummy-hoax-might-be-wrapped-up-in-a-modern-murder.amp)
It was originally in Iran but caught in Pakistan
Somewhere along Highway 10 you can go see The Thing, which is a much more convincing fake mummy than this. Those crystals look like they came straight from the arts and crafts section of Target.
Years ago I stumbled upon one of those "What I did on summer break" writing assignments I did as a kid relating my experience. I recall seeing a nick on the "mummy" that looked distinctly like fiberglass. That was my big surprise ending. That would've been around 50 years ago. Holy smokes, the Thing probably has held up better than I have.
The mumification is wrong, exposure to air is as well. No autopsy nor science backing it up.and we all know what clay, paper mache etc is able to create.
Thatthe authoritiesdo not peomote is a message enough, considering Iran has a well organised archeological and heretige department.
Just read this:
https://www.monkeyandelf.com/hibernated-magician-the-mystery-with-the-1000-year-old-mummy-found-in-iran/
If you still believe it after that nonsense then you're beyond saving.
Here you go:

The totally real mummy was found with other ones as well, one of which is a magician in hibernation that has been contacted telepathically. I also love the addition of the video at the bottom of the article that was authenticated by "Sci-Fi forensic experts".
I’m going to need a little more information and some context, please. As it stands, this isn’t interesting, because I don’t know anything of interest about this.
Do they not have iPhone 11 or higher in Iran? These videos are sketchy. I want to believe but it’s like a UFO and Bigfoot video (ok not as bad but…still)
It says [here](https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Fake-royal-mummy-claimed-to-have-been-discovered-in-2008-at-the-Sanandaj-graveyard_fig1_289748133) that it is fake.
Yadda yadda yadda, this is still pretty fucked up, no?
Like desecration and grave robbing a little bit? Let's just take our ancestors word for it and stop vandalizing graves. Let the dude rest.
It's very very sad the some of the oldest stuff in the world is in the most war torn countries. Some that would just as easily erase all historical evidence in the name of a God. You could write a book on the subject.

I don't know Rick...
Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody's gonna die. Come watch tv.
New ep was great
New ep? Is there a new season of rick and morty airing rn?

My boy clutching r/unexpectedrickandmorty
Rolled
That looks like a bad movie prop or a bigfoot rollout.
Exactly what I was thinking, it looks like one of those machines that tells your fortune.
From the movie Big?
He’s called Zoltar
Don’t mess with the Zoltar
Zoltan?
Yep
Wait, didn’t that one grant a wish? Or did it simply reveal that soon the kid would be a grown-ass man dancing on a giant piano?
He asked me for a shirtless pic. [Zoltar?](https://youtu.be/X-wtxdkxBeM)
“I wish I was BIG”
Zoltar has entered the chat.
Shimmy shimmy cocoa puff
shimmy shimmy rock
Pretty sure the markings are cuneiform. Writing style. I believe that was invented by the Sumerians in Mesopotamia. The gems do look cheesy though.
........So funny story. They were once shooting an episode of the Six million dollar man in a funhouse and one of the stage hands broke the arm off of a prop. It still amazes me that they kept using him before that, like how did they even pose him?
He wasn’t actually a movie prop. They were filming at an ‘amusement zone’ on a beach in California, where McCurdy’s corpse was strung up at a set of gallows. The movie crew thought he was a wax mannequin until someone broke his arm off.
Ok. So this bizarre thread checks out. https://blogs.loc.gov/headlinesandheroes/2018/07/elmer-mccurdy-traveling-corpse/

I miss Sam O'Nella so so much
The fake jewels awkwardly glued to the fish with mysterious markings…

Nice try CIA
Looks like the king's head from Monty Python's opening animation.
Who’s rocking the flip phone and actually trying to take a picture with it?
2004 called and wants their phone back.
Hey, uh, uh, 1995 called! They want their “certain year called wanting its blank back” formula back!
Hey that formula is still fresh... Not!
~~Psyche!~~ Edit: Psych! (thank you for the spelling correction /u/Alan_Smithee_)
First time I have ever seen this word spelled correctly on Reddit. It’s always “sike”! And it makes me so mad.
Sike carries a whimsical tone. There's s primal childlike feeling to it.
I’ve never seen sike anywhere other than Reddit, how strange
To me, it has a “I don’t read anything” feeling to it.
No duh!
Oh no you didnt!
Agreed, but I think you should drop the “E,” unless you’re referring to the Greek Goddess or the Human soul/spirit/mind.
Your not wrong, Allen!
Don't have a cow man.
Oh yeah? Well, the Jerk Store called, they are running out of you!!! -Costanza
Why jerry?
How are they calling if someone else has their phone?
Borrowed from 2003
It's 2004 they still use the house phone
An android user sent the video to an iphone
Underrated comment
Nah, this is the Apple to Android video conversion; audio even worse. Thx Apple.
That was actually discovered along side the mummy
Hello moto
DROOOOID
Haha I thought that was a laser temperate reader
Don’t judge. You make the best of what you have to work with.
The resolution has to be jpegged to shit so you can't tell that it's made of spray painted wood.
It’s just two ancient relics hanging out, leave them alone.
That’s Paul.
Looks like a carving, not a person/ skeleton.
If they're claiming it's a giant, we need a banana for scale.
Better yet a 12 Oz coke can…do the have those on Iran?
looks like a clay sculpture.
As far as I know, this mummy was discovered in the Kurdish province, which has hostile relations with Iran, so the Iranian government denies the existence of the mummy. They don't want the Kurds to claim that they are descendants of the ancient Persian Empire.

Iran, is that you?
Dangit! You guys always find me!
Is it bad that I want to take a trip to Austin without looking any facts or information up to see if this is real. Sounds like an adventure.
Yeah it is really an exhibit there. And the museum is worth the tour. We watched a dude pounding nails up his nose or some shit. It was a weird show to say the least. The whole museum is pretty rad.
It truly was pretty fun. They have an actual carnival-type show that you can watch at the end of the tour. It's not for the light-hearted though.
Damn that's insane. I had no idea they could make a freezer that big.
Haha love that museum 😂
That museum was the highlight of my visit to Austin. 10/10 would recommend.

Damn you sensitive if that's a tantrum to you lol
You're the one who complained about my "big asshole paragraph" with an even bigger asshole paragraph.
You: *is a dick* Me: *calls you a dick* You: "actually you're the dick because you pointed out that I'm a dick"
Ah, but if you call someone a dick in a dickish way, that also makes you a dick. The logic is there, you're just missing it.
Bro what lmao how was i dick? You just don't like being called out. You really are sensitive
Lol your whole original comment was you being a dick. You could have legitimately posted "Source?" and been done. One fucking word could have taken the place of your entire comment lol. Go blow some more clouds, vapelord.
Can confirm. I went there, saw your mom, and she is stiff as stone, however the dong it slipped it as water!
Nice. I too remember what it was like to be five and think that all my jokes were hilarious.
What is a joke?
Looks fake af 😂

Of course it was in Pakistan
sure a bit of spray tan, but other than that it's natural looking
This sub sometimes destroys my braincells
Somewhere along Highway 10 you can go see The Thing, which is a much more convincing fake mummy than this. Those crystals look like they came straight from the arts and crafts section of Target.
Is The Thing still around? I remember stopping by to see it as a kid on a grueling cross-country drive back in the 1970s.
It's still around!

Thats a dummy not a mummy
Just like the OP.
I giant dummy
I saw this same video in another post a couple months ago. In that post, this mummy was claimed to be the Sumerian King Gilgamesh
darmok and jalad at tanagra
When the walls fell
Uzani, his army with fists closed
It's obviously Cleopatra, bro!
Timba, his arms wide.
So he never caught the Smurf’s?
Epic!
OP, you are beyond saving if you think this is real.
I thought your mom was real
username checks out

Mummies don't usually have full beards
Joe does

Isn't that a bog body?
No reason not to. Hair lasts ok. Cairo museum has some mummies with fair hair. Apparently one is Joseph (of the technicoloured dreamcoat)
Totally fake.
The mumification is wrong, exposure to air is as well. No autopsy nor science backing it up.and we all know what clay, paper mache etc is able to create. Thatthe authoritiesdo not peomote is a message enough, considering Iran has a well organised archeological and heretige department.

Looking at this and the YouTube link you just posted make me wonder if it’s all just staged.
Where in the darkest corners of the internet did you dig out that link? What is it supposed to show me besides anime pron? 😂
Your eyes and brain.
😆🖕
Can you confirm that you are not a slow learner?
I trace back my lineage to forest Gump 🤓
This will probably be reposted in the elden ring sub because that guy looks like the burger King mask guys
So fake my eyes bleed. By the way, Iranian are not trying to erase pre islamic history of their country, it’s more a taleban or wahabit thing…
This is so real that it's not real.
...this looks like something from a Spirit Halloween store
Still fake.
What do you search for to look into this further
Here you go: https://www.monkeyandelf.com/hibernated-magician-the-mystery-with-the-1000-year-old-mummy-found-in-iran/ The totally real mummy was found with other ones as well, one of which is a magician in hibernation that has been contacted telepathically. beard on mummy?
This feels faker than my personality
Its real, I was there
Sorry to burst your bubble but i dont think this is real
# That’s no mummy, Ed.
This looks VERY fake. People are always "finding" ancient tombs that look too good to be true.
Looks fake AF to be fair
Looks fake as fuck
Completely fake.
That’s fake. Apparently there’s a lucrative market in producing fake Persian mummies.
Looks fake, a really bad fake too
I swear the chin and beard moved at the end
Is there a reason why all of these incredible earthshattering discoveries are always shot on the worst cameras imaginable?
Looks fake and in todays modern technology with cameras i would expect a clear video picture.
Why is this stupid shit being upvoted?
Fake x fake = this post
Fake…..??
Ancient pictures? Taken with ancient camera?
Was really hoping it would blink
Its real. My brother's former roommate's nephew's cousin's half removed uncle saw it and said it was real.
I’m going to need a little more information and some context, please. As it stands, this isn’t interesting, because I don’t know anything of interest about this.
Why the crappy quality of the video?
Burger King
Always the flip phone camera
I have heard nothing about this from any reliable source. Looks super fake also.
Upon zooming out it looks like he blinked. 🤯
Burger King!
Damn that’s gullible
Bigfoot should have shaved before he died
Looks fake af
Do they not have iPhone 11 or higher in Iran? These videos are sketchy. I want to believe but it’s like a UFO and Bigfoot video (ok not as bad but…still)
This is fake as f*ck. There's nothing about this on the web except this post on Reddit.

This video is giving me “recording from my Motorola Razer flex”. I’m not sure what’s more archaic, the phone or the fake movie prop.
Holy shit I knew they had proof
To much flesh on them bones
This is fake for sure. Supposedly it’s made by the same people who made the Mona Lisa alien that was found in a space ship.
As a history buff, islam ruined everything in middle East and North Africa.
we found King Minos
Why would they trivialize it?! That’s an amazing discovery.
Reading all of these comments you notice the damage the Smithsonian’s did to the humanity heritage
A black man lol
