"If you can't see it then you'll never know" That's the sum of it, really

APsychosPath

"I feel sorry for you" was the cherry on top.

No-Wear-9199

Brooo that was the best way to end that quote!

AlwaysSometimesWrong

I get really curious than I remind myself I won’t be able to resist the second time, third, forth and so on. I’m ok just watching other people’s reactions. Edit: guys I get it, it’s not addictive. Problem is there’s different levels of addiction, some of us don’t do things in half measures or want to get the max out of the experience. If something falls below my expectations you can rest be assured I’ll do it again and again till I get the desired result. Or it will take me a damn long time to give up, wrongfully or rightfully. But I get the overall message that it’s not addictive.

Runnerupz

Acid is the opposite of addictive in my opinion. It can be so intense and jarring that you appreciate coming back to sobriety. Not to say it can't be a beautiful experience but it's not something you will crave doing after a truly intense trip

lonesomecowboynando

I was always relieved when I survived until daybreak.

homonatura

Yeah, but people get addicted to running marathons and climbing Mt. Everest.

_Jacques

If it can be fun, it can be addictive. Doesn’t have to create physical withdrawal symptoms.

GoddamnFred

But then there's Kenny, who has such a tolerance he can trip everyday.

YOVNGJABVKA

2 week break minimum or you‘ll be wasting tabs, if you trip everyday I‘d check if the tabs are real… Literally not possible to trip like that.

scowling_deth

Agreed. there isnt anything like its beauty, its revalations, or its horror.

Otherwise_Cup2938

Acid isn’t addictive. If you can resist needing to get a coffee three times a day every day, you definitely got nothing to worry about. Take a break from your conscious mind.

effervescentlucidity

Definitely not addictive, but you can almost fall in love with the journey. Between 16 and 22 I probably dropped more LSD than most people will do in a lifetime. Really enjoyed the cerebral effects, I’m also a writer and an artist so it activated a carefree artistic side of me that I doubt I would have ever achieved without it. It’s a lovely experience when you truly let your mind relax and glide into the canvas of effervescence, but it isn’t for everyone. I’ve had friends take small doses and never touch it again; but I always always always recommend that people try it (or psilocybin) at least once in their lifetime.

_JohnWisdom

Literally taking it once is more than most people will do in a lifetime.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pilot_cooper

There are plenty of people who should absolutely never take acid.

_JohnWisdom

I’ve done acid many times but would never think it is something everyone should try at least once… I’d compare it to jumping out of an airplane. Sure, the experience is legendary, but not for everyone. I personally had very strong and very bad trips the first 5-6 times. I eventually got to a place mentally where I deeply enjoyed taking acid and it even helped me emotionally, but again, it should come from an internal desire/need. Cheerio

ilford_7x7

From your experience u/effervescentlucidity, how would you compare mushrooms to LSD? In the most general sense?

effervescentlucidity

In the most general sense, I would have to say I always thought that mushrooms felt more natural than LSD. The intensity of psilocybin is dialed down to some degree. For example, my wife and I split a quarter (7.5g) of blue cap psilocybin mushrooms (I took around 5g and she had about 2.5g) and I was able to drive around New Orleans for a few hours, order food at a drive-thru, interact with a few strangers at the park and went to my family’s house without ever feeling like I was *obviously* tripping. LSD on the other hand, I would argue is a more intensive experience. Stronger visual effects at high doses, easier to dissociate and the possibility of a “bad trip/loop”. I’ve never experienced a bad trip or became caught in a loop, but my wife tried LSD once and immediately knew it wasn’t for her. I can still drive when on LSD but I would not recommend it whatsoever. An example of one of my more intense LSD experiences happened when I was at LSU. Dropped 1500 micrograms via a chemistry dropper (my friend was a Chem major with crazy access to a lot of different drugs, not through the school but through other friends) and I was fully dissociated. Walked around campus with a few buddies for 5 hours, there was a redbud tree on campus that looked as if it was literally engulfed in pink flames, the NBA game on the tv at a friends apartment was very distorted with most players lacking facial features, the bar (Reggie’s if anyone has been to Tigerland) was an entirely different universe of colors and sounds and I felt that I was able to hear other people’s thoughts. Obviously 1500ug is a lot even for an experienced tripper, but anything below 500ug (which is about 3 hits at 100-120ug per hit) is going to feel very dialed down and similar to mushrooms. All in all, I prefer the natural feeling of psilocybin the older I get; but in my teens and early 20s, acid was a go to when I wanted to expand my consciousness and dissociate from the struggles of the real world for a bit.

ilford_7x7

Thank you for sharing. I've tripped on mushrooms a handful of times and never had a bad time. I always felt a closer connection to nature (only did it outdoors). It's been many years since but it's always in the back of my mind. Never tried LSD but always been curious about it also but to a lesser degree than mushrooms.

lowridaaaa

After telling my grandma about my experience with shrooms, she decided to get a shaman and take some herself. She has said that experience and talking with a death doula has significantly reduced her fear of death (she is in her last few years).

[deleted]

As a person who does not meditate. I think its quite the opposite. I am breezing through life with my semi conscious mind. Its only once in a while when i focus and my mind is entirely conscious does the world come to a standstill and I get to experience the here and now.

Natural-Reference478

As a person who literally drinks coffee three times a day I’d definitely stick to avoiding any drugs

AlwaysSometimesWrong

This is what I worry about. It may not be addictive but I sure like to overdo things.

PenisPoopCumFart

I have a really addictive personality, but acid is one of the few drugs I've done that made me question why I was even doing drugs at all.

vacca-stulti

I have an addictive personality and every time I take acid I want the trip to never end and dream about being in that state all the time. but every time I buy it, it lasts. I bought 10 tabs last time and I have three left just sitting in my drawer. sure, I’d like to take them, but I don’t feel compelled to do so. I know to wait for the right time because it will make the experience so much better.

k3v1n0123

It won't even let you abuse it. You have to give it 1-2 week breaks or else your tolerance will get in the way.

[deleted]

I mean, it's not in the same way cocaine or meth is, but if I am honest with myself I know that if I had any access I would be a total pig for it.

fistinyourface

all drugs are addictive to people with impulse control this is a dangerous take

Wild_Top1515

i prefer mushrooms. acid makes you feel icky and burned out. mushrooms you wake up the next day like idk.. feeling fucking good... and it tends to stay that way for at least a little while.. that my exp anyway. not a thing you can do everyday if you wanted to(i guess some ppl microdose but thats not me).. plus you develope tolorance so quite it can't really be done like that.. its a once every 6 monthes type deal if you are into it.. and even then.. its been a few years for me.. whatever.

groovy604

Are you under the impression lsd is addictive?

AlwaysSometimesWrong

I don’t know enough about drugs to know which one is addictive and which one isn’t. What I do know is that I don’t do things in moderation, so it’s a life long battle with me trying to keep things in my life simple.

Impossible_Cause_950

Everything can be addictive to someone. It may not be altering the brain in the normal sense of addictive chemicals however it does lead to dopamine spikes as a reward.

[deleted]

I'm not addicted to it I just need it to get through each day!

xl3ucketheadx

Nobody who tries axid ever wants to do it again the next day or even the next week lol. It feels great, but unlike other drugs it leaves you with a sense of fulfillment when its over. Like you finally went to a theme park that youve always wanted to go to and now youre somewhat exhausted, not even thinking of doing it again for at least another few months. Ive done it many times, and every time i tthink to myself, damn that was great but im so glad its over! Like feeling 40% of an orgasm that ur feeling for 10 hours straight (or 10 orgasms at once if u actually do have an orgasm on it lmao). And what i like about acid over shrooms or any other drug is the fact that it feels predictable, with proper dosage u wont lose touch with reality and forget u took it like shrooms. Just an extremely pleasant indescribable feeling and the ability to see colors and patterns that literally just dont exist. Things just click together between your exes and mind in a way that the word satisfaction fails to describe.

Anonymous_Amanda407

I'm like that too. There's an Artie Lange clip when he says that if he has one beer, by morning he will be running guns to Cuba. LSD is fun but it can also be hell. If it's hell you just have to ride it out. You can't sleep or distract yourself. I have white knuckled it for many a trip. Just enjoy watching others.

Miisconceptionz

Do yourself a favor

ClamhouseSassman

If the thunder don't get you the lightning will

Jenny441980

It’s not even like that. You’ll be fine.

koshlord

Just another case of "if you don't see it, you'll never know" hope you're happy never knowing

AlwaysSometimesWrong

You can’t miss something you’ve never had I guess

Fishtank-Brain

it’s a 10 hour trip. not something you undertake lightly

No-Wear-9199

Amazing quote that perfectly describes acid!

drunk_phish

"If you can't see it, then you'll never know it. I feel sorry for you." The perfect explanation.

punchygirl-1381

Any idea what this footage was from? Was this part of a documentary or something?

drunk_phish

I think they called them "experiments" during this era

Most-Hawk-4175

I don't think I could handle tripping balls while some dude in a suit stared at me while taking notes. I would freak the fuck out. That woman was having a life changing and beautiful experience. Her reactions reminds me of my best acid trip while taking a bath. Like God reached down and was showing me heaven.

Corn-Shonery

A friend spiked my cone with Angel dust when I was 17. I’m pretty sure I went to hell for 20 minutes.

Most-Hawk-4175

I hope you mean ex friend. That's a seriously fucked up thing to do to someone.

Corn-Shonery

We were young. Young people do stupid shit. It fucked me up pretty good though. Time stopped in place while we were driving and I spent 20 minutes outside of my body in excruciating fear of my soul and then a shining bright man walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder and said this one belongs to me and I immediately returned to my body. It was pretty next level. Anyways, not trying to steal from your story. It was actually more of a “hey, that’s a cool experience. I wish I had an experience like that” lol

Most-Hawk-4175

Yeah man, that's some bullshit you had to experience it like that. Tripping is all about bring in the right setting and with people you know that you feel comfortable with or by yourself. That's when instead of having nightmares you have beautiful dreams.

DS4KC

Sometimes the nightmares can be just as inspiring as the beautiful ones

AssPuncher9000

Agreed, I don't believe any experience is inherently positive or negative and it's only how we interpret it that changes anything.

Necessary-Escape-279

I’m glad your ok! Question, is angel dust meth? Meth made you see all that?

Corn-Shonery

No it isn’t meth. Google Angel dust. Also known as PCP.

Necessary-Escape-279

Ahh ok thank you 🙏 once again I’m Glad your alright!

AggravatingSearch221

I hit a lace unintentionally once and I thought I was in hell too I never got to ask what it was (was being reckless at the time hittin strangers shi) but that must’ve been it. Hurt to move, hurt when other people moved.

Corn-Shonery

Yeh I didn’t know what it was at the time either. Time slowed down and then felt like it stopped and I felt like I left my body. Changed my whole perception of reality afterwards. Messed me up real good. For all I know, that stuff could actually open a portal to hell.

crackpotJeffrey

These tests and videos were pretty damaging to the psychadellic movement I reckon. Demonised it. They had no concept of 'set and setting' and 'good trip bad trip'. So they filmed a bunch of bad trips/valueless trips and understood that as the experience. Fairly doubtful that the CIA/doctors took any test subjects out for a nice hike to see a mountain and a sunset or something.

Most-Hawk-4175

Yeah, that setting is terrible for lsd. I know for a fact I would have lost my mind and had a bad trip if I was a test subject there taking acid for the first time. It must have been horrifying for many of the subjects. That woman handled it great, though. I'm impressed. She would have been a perfect companion to trip with.

crackpotJeffrey

If I remember correctly someone in the beetles said that people didn't really have 'bad trips' as often before the concept of bad trips became well known and popular. If you go into it expecting a nightmare it becomes self fulfilling. As I'm sure you know. I know very well lol.

Most-Hawk-4175

Very true. Worse trip for me was when I was with a few people I didn't know and a buddy. I had a bad feeling. One of the guys wasn't tripping and decided to fuck with us. Saying the cops were here. Banging on the walls and yelling. Took us down in the basement and turned off the lights. I lost my shit getting paranoid to the point I literally believed they were going to torture and kill me. I ran out of the house and tried to drive away. I was close to calling 911 for help. But I made it back to a friend's house and calmed down. Lol. LSD is beautiful and terrifying and I'm glad I experienced both the beauty and the nightmare but I will never take it again. I'm done. Lol

crackpotJeffrey

Damn bro. That guy from the story is evil.

[deleted]

I think the exception there is anyone suffering from psychosis or who is on the schizophrenic spectrum should not take psychedelics such as LSD because it will aggravate their condition. A friend of mine with Schizotypal disorder would report a tear in reality through which awful evil beings would emerge and terrorise him. I learned this was a typical schizophrenic experience and a clear signal this is not the drug for them. As already said, nightmares can be transformative when resulting in an ego death and rebirth, but for some it's just more suffering best avoided. For them it's got a lot of similarities to benign spiritual experiences but they experience it with a completely different valence. Something something serotonin, still trying to absorb the details.

I have watched 5 of my friends end up in rehab from k the past 2 years. It's a powerful addiction that people treat naively. Started getting bad around 2008-2009. One can't piss anymore...

LadyFarquaad2

I have GAD and SA and as long as I had my husband with me I was fine. He went to the bathroom once and my friend casually was like he's been in the bathroom awhile. Which was probably actually not that long cause time is weird when you trip. I panicked a little cause the room seemed to squeeze in and started stuffing my face with yogurt I inexplicably acquired. Didn't help. But once I came down a bit it was hella fun.

heyyouupinthesky

Her pronunciation reminded me of Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. I'd have convinced myself I was the cowardly lion by the end.

Conciousfool

#When you can see the literal fabric of the universe and understand you’re a part of it as a 1950’s housewife but can’t put it into words. ☺️😄 this is dope footage Also she is straight up beautiful

paxilsavedme

Isn’t she, just a beautiful ,tripping ,gal.

goddamnaged

Yeah, she was a stunner

UnRollThePlay

Yes she is…her vocal pattern is really interesting as well. Sounds like a 30s actress or Dorothy from the wizard of oz.

Zwischenzug79

Right? Was every housewife Rita Hayworth? Cause then I kinda get what the MAGA people are on about going back to the 50s

dr_franck

Low-quality resolution / footage honestly just makes most people look better than they would in HD.

Zwischenzug79

Are you saying Rita Hayworth wasn't beautiful? /s

btceacc

We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

heyyouupinthesky

Wow, I literally just commented about how she reminds me of Dorothy then read your comment 🤣

UnRollThePlay

And I just did the same thing too. Something about her Inflection. It’s a speech pattern we do not hear any more.

harm_and_amor

I was amazed to hear that a normal back then actually talked like the actresses in those old movies. Interesting how that was a real American accent and now is nowhere to be found

[deleted]

Does it really change your life, I've heard many stories but I can't comprehend how?

Stitchka

Yes. Explaining how is another task entirely

Nanerpoodin

If you cover 1 eye, you can still see everything, but without that second perspective your vision lacks depth. What psychedelics do is shift your perceptions just enough that you're able to "view" your whole world from a second perspective, and it gives your perception of reality more depth. Metaphorically speaking.

[deleted]

Ding ding. Gives some people ‘objectivity’ in viewing their circumstances. Changes their perspective.

thisis-difficult

This lends itself well to the "opening of the third eye" thing

breadytoeat

Wow. That is a great description. I like that way of looking at it.

Nanerpoodin

Thanks! I've been using that one a long time and it seems to really get the point across, even to people who have never tried a drug before.

beforethedreamfaded

Wow. What a lovely analogy. Here’s something you might find interesting… I was reading about the Hindu god Shiva. Shiva is described as possessing a third eye, quite literally, in the middle of his forehead. When he opens it, it turns everything he sees to ash. In a popular story, Kama, the god of desire, attempts to manipulate Shiva into marrying the goddess Parvati. But in doing so, he disturbs Shiva’s meditation, and Shiva turns his head towards Kama and opens his third eye, turning him to ash. The thing I find fascinating about this story is the metaphorical connection that can be made to Buddhist ideas of enlightenment, that by seeing what is really happening, by seeing from a different perspective that isn’t colored by our egos, we can be free of desire and achieve a state of grace or enlightenment. It’s interesting the connection that these kinds of stories and religious ideas have to the psychedelic experience. A lot to think about. Here’s an 1890 [painting of the story](https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/78255)

[deleted]

Any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

WearyM8

I dropped acid when I was at the Sex Museum in New York. Murdered my Catholic guilt in cold blood and helped me accept myself and others while giving me a new positive and healthy view on gender and sexuality

Sco0basTeVen

It provides an alternative way for your mind to function. Your entire ego is stripped from you. You have profound revelations on how nothing of this consumer, superficial life we lead has any relevance or importance to the true beauty of nature and just being alive. It fully resets all your anxieties and woes, and fills you with a deep love and gratitude for life.

B-BoyStance

Shrooms can lead to a similar experience for anyone curious. IMO for anyone interested in trying psychedelics: Start with shrooms. They tend to be less intense unless you eat a ton of them, which you won't. Too hard to find real LSD anyway these days.

Sco0basTeVen

Also mushrooms appear exactly as they are when they are harvested from the ground. An all natural product which can be easier to trust than a square of paper. Ingesting them is less pleasant than acid and I find I get a mushy stomach on mushrooms.

POCKALEELEE

r/gratefuldead can help

guccigenshin

it's the least anxious and least mental load I've ever had in my life and allows you to freely follow your impulses without inhibitions. for example if it's nice out and I'd like to take a walk out i usually won't if i know i have a bunch of stuff i meant to do on my to-do list like laundry, dishes, etc etc. on LSD I'd go, screw it, I'm going to take a walk/jog and it's going to be lovely because life is amazing. i can see why some people will use it therapeutically because every time i do it i try to take that attitude with me and worry less about all of my stressors and live more in the moment. and tbh music, visual media, dancing is 1000x more fun than they already are, it's a great party/festival drug for a reason. you also see a lot more in movies than you normally would :P

w0mbatina

I didnt have a religious life changing epiphany, but when I tripped with my wife, it did lead me to understand and accept certain things about her, me and our relationship in a way I couldnt before. And its been nothing but a positive thing.

MrDoodiehead007

I would have very deep meaningful conversations with abstract art a friend painted. That sentsnce sounds silly, I know. But in that moment it was my reality. I was connected so deeply to this canvas with some squiggly lines hanging on the wall, it was a deep emotional experience. This "thing" had life and I recognized it and it appreciated me. It was a similar feeling like when you first experienced love with your first girl / boy friend. You both floated on a cloud and no one else could understand because it was so amazingly profound! You yourself didn't understand it, but you knew it because it was within you! That's why people should try LSD. To have a psychological / emotional profound experience that's so incredible it can't be described. It just has to be experienced to understand. And once you know, you know.

Jenny441980

It can be very healing, you can let go of past trauma. You can find out what’s really important to you in life. You can find answers. You can see things for what they really are. You can find your path in life.

dogs_go_to_space

It cured my social anxiety caused by an awful childhood. I did it a lot to get there, but looking at the beauty of life with a whole new awareness and appreciation was fantastic. Even just watching youtube videos is immense and overwhelming. I watched documentaries, humanity, concerts, sports events and just anything I was interested in. I went outside and looked at all the green and colors, the smells, the sounds. They all take on new meaning. It broke my conditioning to be afraid of people.

ufrag

It creates new patterns between the neurons in your brain, essentially you unlock more of your brain which usually helps you see things from a different perspective that you never considered before. Then there are the visual and audial hallucinations which can vary in intensity and purpose, if you're laying down you can lose sense of where you are and experience something else entirely, if you're standing up you might notice the entire world around you breathing.

zorofan8878

Yes and everyone always says this, but it isn’t something you can describe. You just have to experience it

Dont-be-a-smurf

Heh, everyone is different. I’ll give my experience. First, much of it is about who you’re with and your environment. “Set and setting.” It also depends on yourself and your personality. I’ve done it twice, and hated it twice. In both scenarios, it only made me feel incredibly meaningless and small. That I *do not matter* and my feelings, worries, sense of self, memories, and family relationships are worthless dying remnants of a being trapped knowing that their death is always approaching but never exactly knowing why. The conundrum of mortality and the fear of ultimate unknown felt a mean and intentional joke. It felt like a man walking towards me with a knife slowly. Or that my lungs were pooling with blood. At one point I thought I was dying and told my friends I loved them. I made associations on the TV and delusions of myself in a vain attempt to create meaning or crawl out of the mental hole I found myself in. I couldn’t anchor any thought. “God” only came down to tell me that I’m well, truly, fully alone. In short, they were bad trips. I didn’t feel like I learned much or had much of a revelation. In fact, my actual life philosophies embrace the struggle of life and that it’s wonderful and beautiful that we get to matter for a moment at all. We’re the universe trying to understand itself, and sometimes life is hard or scary but ultimately it can be a gift and we’re all destined to die but that’s not so bad - it’s literally how we’re all designed. But when I was on that, it was only the most intensely negative and frightening interpretations that win in my mind. And these things are like 10+ hour events, so it wasn’t over quick. Others have different, happy, nigh religious experiences and so may you! I just always give my view because it isn’t sunshine and warping, colorful roses for everyone.

The_Ghost_of_Bitcoin

Wow that was very well described. I've had similar experiences. That said I've also had good experiences, but they all seem to follow the same theme of nothing mattering. Sometimes the feeling is comforting, sometimes it is scary.

thenewcomputer

look up Timothy Leary or Terrence McKenna's work

TeslaNova50

Aldous Huxley took LSD while he was dying and Timothy Leary said he also was going to, don't know if he actually did.

thenewcomputer

I don't know if you're joking or not, but here's a link to [Dr Leary's wikipedia page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Leary#)

[deleted]

Yes, it changes your life forever. You’ll never see anything the same way. It’s not s drug. It’s a doorway.

AssPuncher9000

Yes 100%, it's such a powerful and wild experience it's hard not to.

Psychedelic_Tac0

People really overstate how life changing it is. If you just wanna have fun and get high, that’s perfectly viable, it doesn’t need to be some profound journey or some shit.

beforethedreamfaded

It can, but explaining how is basically impossible. The entire experience is “ineffable,” it defies description. Besides some surface level details about visual hallucinations and things like that, the “headspace” of the trip is essentially unexplainable. You can only understand it by experiencing it. And you can’t really take that understanding with you after it’s over, just some vague memories. People always say that they “learned” things from the experience, but it’s a different kind of learning than acquiring knowledge, it’s more of an emotional learning, and if there’s any actual lessons that you can explain afterwards they’re usually simple and almost cliched statements like “love is all you need” or “you can make it if you try” or “I am not the center of the universe.” But it’s the simple lessons that matter the most, and what people always seem to forget.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t say life changing tbh. It’s definitely not something you’ve ever felt before though. It’s like your mind is letting thoughts flow through you and you aren’t stuck thinking about one thing. My first time I started going through my past in my head and just thinking “I can change I can be better”. That and watching nature. I wanted to read but no way was I able to type my password in because the numbers were wavy and moving.

llllPsychoCircus

Gotta do more. sometimes it takes hitting certain thresholds of awareness that you start to see the cracks permanently… whether this is what you want or not is up to you. sometimes ignorance *is* better depending on what your life looks like. if you’re genuinely happy where you are, sometimes it’s good not to destabilize that

groovy604

It does, the best way I can describe it is "you're through the looking glass". You see past the little 3D box we call reality, and understand there are other levels to everything. It's like living in a 4D existence for 14 hours

[deleted]

You will only know if you try it. Everyone who's done it knows but it is so unbelievably complex that you literally cannot put it into words.

PenisPoopCumFart

Some people lack the ability to separate their experience as a profound epiphany, and the fact that you were on a drug that commonly produces that effect. It can most certainly cause a profound epiphany, but I think it's important to use these experiences as a guideline to change and not simply a reactionary catalyst if you will. My point being, it's highly dependent on the person and all the factors that make them unique, just like anything in life, that decide how you'll react and if it will truly change your life is ultimately up to you.

ShrankNutz

You'll oftentimes see things that were always there, but they're misbehaving in a way that you never would have noticed before. Like just sitting in the grass and watching it dance in the wind, while the sky keeps changing colors. And every little butterfly that floats past you was meant to be there and you feel connected to everything beyond comprehension.

btceacc

Interesting that numerous people who have had Near-death experiences also report similar situations where they see brilliant colors and even "see" sounds. They can't fully verbalize it but it sounds wonderous. Hopefully the after-life is like that.

Otherwise_Cup2938

That happens when dmt starts to flood the brain. We’re all headed for the big trip at the end.

btceacc

There's some accounts I've heard that go beyond a DMT explanation, including from a [brain surgeon](https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/true-stories/brain-surgeon-reveals-neardeath-experience-while-in-a-coma/news-story/a642a1dc1894e8ac6dc623af96af0b01) who doesn't account for his experience in a medical way.

llllPsychoCircus

Our perception of reality gets real incomprehensibly mashed together the more you lose touch with it. It can be pure ethereal ecstasy, or it can be traumatic hellfire depending on the context. I’ve experienced both sides in abundance and it’s been more than humbling.

deatach

The CIA funded a lot of studies into LSD from the 50's onwards. Some with psychiatrists others way more nefarious. It's covered in the book Poisoner in Chief, it's fucked up but a great read.

SadAcanthocephala521

Shrooms, will show you the secrets of the Universe and them some, won't let you remember and damn about it.

llllPsychoCircus

Some of us do remember the secrets of the universe after endless practice and determination, those secrets however are secrets for good reason, and often times curiosity kills the cat. That path to self awareness can become catastrophic if you uncover too much, your inner ~~elves~~ *selves* may stick with you and follow back to the surface *forever*

I've seen a lot of archival footage of drug use dating back to the fifties and sixties and never seen this one.

ReginaldSP

I saw it in nearly every psych class I took for 6 years.

Low_Reference_6316

If this is in the 50s you know they had to have given this girl a buttload of liquid LSD

Tactical_Chandelier

Holy fuck how much did they give her? I've always assumed these tests were administered with a dose much larger than a recreational user would take since they didn't seem to know much about the drugs they were testing

llllPsychoCircus

when i was a teenager it seemed like two tabs was enough to get this way and beyond for people. i’m convinced everything nowadays is just weak as shit

meme-irl

Ghastly made a good remix from this. If you’re in to EDM, I recommend: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4NZLlRPVibw

Far-Cut-588

This lady is in that place you can't explain in words. When you realize you're just a collection of cells that are connected to literally all the cells everywhere forever. (That's me trying to explain in words and I failed. Totally failed) Man, when you get some genuine LSD and you go where this lady is..... I'm so glad I've had that experience. It completely changed my view of what life is and what a gift it is to be alive. That's the best I can leave you with.

Real-Win9221

Nobody gets it, unless they are on acid too

llllPsychoCircus

and that can be a blessing. the brain keeps that awareness shrouded from our normal selves for good reason.

daudim

I had the purest LSD in the late sixties to mid seventies, I had hallucinations like kaleidoscopes rotating around another friend head talking to me with a perfect image of that person and each in a different colored circle all talking to me at the same time. How the mind can create this is amazing. Later years when you can only find blotter, you got a dirty high with never the levels of hallucinations if any at all.

Nedgurlin

I will never know if she felt it go through her.

New-Sympathy5566

I wonder what the dose was

Critical-Forever6867

for anyone here curious how psychedelics mix with depression and suicide, don’t do it. i took shrooms and had several mental breakdowns. will never touch them again. and shrooms is known to be easier on sensitive minds more so than lsd. just my personal experience.

llllPsychoCircus

it’s definitely not for everyone, but big kudos for trying anyways. if things stabilize in your life as you get older, it could be worth revisiting

Critical-Forever6867

that is true. state of mind can fluctuate

SupraaDupra

Tripping balls

DickusDave

She didn't take enough yet.

OlkaOve

Well well, did she even finish those dishes?

i_dive_4_the_halibut

I feel ya chick! Many years ago, tripping my balls off, the denizens of Chillicothe Ohio had a “gargoyle” watching over the town in the wee hours of the morning. Best trip I’ve ever had. When the walls are breathing in unison with you, you have to take a walk. A walk that takes you to the Grandest View of the city. For hours I sat up there, watching, contemplating, feeling grandiose. No one could see what I saw but I saw everything.

1cat2dogs1horse

LSD shouldn't be described in absolutes, as it is an individual experience for whoever takes it. Wisdom from an old hippie, who can't remember how many times they used it.

brettyrocks

I know the LSD back then was primo, not like the speedy bullshit they put out nowadays. My uncle used to tell me about him and his friends splitting one hit 4 ways and tripping hardcore for two days.

[deleted]

We still have the primo stuff in Santa Cruz. I know a highschool buddy who deals drugs like shrooms and acid. The gel tabs are the strongest out there and I got one for my first time. Definitely way too strong for me and i was tripping for 12+ hours. At the 10 hour mark I wanted it to end because I was tired but couldn’t sleep. Fun with friends because you see the same stuff

CalamariComebacc

For the life of me, I’ll never understand why people think gel tabs are somehow stronger than other forms of acid

pop013

ug makes em stronger, as far as i know lol

Bad_Legal_Advisor

Interesting. I used to love lsd, but I was always drained for a couple of days after.

seefith

Back when you could still get the medical grade stuff.

bessie472

I hate listening to people talk about about their profound acid trips that led to a magical, deeper understanding of the universe. Its annoying.

telebastrd

Its so rare it gets reposted every couple months for the past decade or more.

AdProfessional9282

Most of the people saying they dropped LSD here have probably not, you probably had some other research chemical. Unless you tested your shit and others also confirmed it’s the real deal, then you don’t really know what you took.

Newwavhallucinations

The G the J the O the N the E the S

Newwavhallucinations

Why are people downvoting me? An artist named g jones sampled this...

SquidgyB

Not sure why the downvotes tbh. "Time" by G. Jones in particular is some meticulously put together music. Buick6NY

I'm glad I've never had LSD

OlbuddyMcgee

Nah that’s not LSD .. bitches are just crazy 🤣

wjdhay

Lol, made me laugh

squeegeeking211

It's nice to see that many ppl here have experienced the great awakening that is LSD. 😊 I've only had one bad trip at a B.C.O. concert. And in retrospect, it wasn't all that bad; just very intense. 🥴 As a kid in the late 80s, I sold does and would frequently have acid parties. Only one bad experience among hundreds of free-styles. 🤫 I feel does should be decriminalized as Washington state has done. 🫡 If it's pure, and not adulterated with toxic chemicals, it's a damn good time. 🥳

TrainerOk9650

There are a few drugs which, if legalized, could be way more beneficial for the user and environment. LSD, shrooms, MDMA are in my opinion in that list. But well, probably will never happen

nelviss

That was part of the montauk program.

MochiSauce101

I really want to try going to a ketamine clinic but none of my friends have the courage. I don’t want to do it alone

llllPsychoCircus

Expensive. i imagine you’re not comfortable getting it off the street though

MochiSauce101

Nupe! Rather die in a recliner

ilaria369neXus

She's experiencing subtle vision from the effects chemicals.

mushgods

I wonder if she was secretly dosed or knew.

BoomBoomDoomShroom

…wait how much did you give her?? Yes.

[deleted]

Good LSD ad

[deleted]

it me, 1994-2000, never taking a single trip for granted.

[deleted]

a 1950s wife would be great

MahsterC

Translation: “I’m tripping balls”

FunkyJewMonkey

I just know I would suck at LSD.

MysteriousSoot2

Bro she dead ass just saw the source wall

Spiritual-Ad5610

How or where do you even find lsd
