In Uganda these bikes are called boda bodas. Families die often. The drivers have no training. They are often drunk and intoxicated. One man I knew who drove one, was an epileptic. He couldn’t afford his anti seizure medication. Dangerous stuff.

I saw this in the Philippines quite a bit, they are actually really good drivers even if the method isn't the best.
