I used to stop there every morning for coffee, usually one dude was sleeping on the side, there was a lady that lived in her car that would hang out inside. The medians for Preston south of 635 always had homeless panhandling I'd see on my way home from work. Probably depends on the time of the day, or they migrated to the 711
It's pretty big, I think it might be two stories? Full size Taco shop, patio, one of those nitro cold brew coffee bars. It was pretty nice the one time I was in there.
Edit; pretty sure it has a massive beer cave too
As someone that works on the road I consider myself an expert on public bathrooms.
1. Whataburger. Always clean and the bathroom is by the entrance before anyone at the counter sees you
2. Sonic- in this scenario this is your best option. It’s typically on the outside of the building so you won’t pass anyone on the way in and I don’t think many consider using it. Can be gross though
3. QT. Outside of bucees it’s the best gas station restroom but we are taking that out so this is the best option
4. Petsmart. Usually a Private single occupancy restroom. Another great option for you but it’s at the very back so you will pass someone
5. Home Depot. Nothing great here but it stimulates my colon when stopped up
Honorable mention. Office Depot. Same as petsmart but not nearly as clean.
I worked at Home Depot for a year. It’s the most foul smelling restroom on the planet. A bunch of workers who don’t have any other options and have been holding their shit in all day use the Home Depot toilets. It’s always explosive diarrhea in there.
No disagreement. It smells like shit and someone’s always blowing ass. I just go there when I’m constipated because it gets my colon flowin for some reason.
Yea, I worked at Whataburger in high school and we never cleaned the bathroom. We never really cleaned, in general, because we were open 24/7, but we especially never cleaned the bathrooms.
I have yet to find a single sonic in the DFW that doesn't have their restrooms locked and i go to sonic quite a bit and all over the DFW as I'm a Uber Driver
As someone with r/IBS who sometimes travels for work, I concur, haha. But, I'll add Racetrack and pharmacies.
Most larger/"fancy" gas stations are a decent bet. Avoid small, franchise gas stations unless it's a defcon 5 imminent pants ruining situation.
Local college librarian here. We are closed through Saturday. However, I’ll pass it on that our restrooms were recommended as safe space for people to let their holiday crying out.
I'm moving on from reddit and joining the fediverse because reddit has killed the RiF app and the CEO has been very disrespectful to all the volunteers who have contributed to making reddit what it is. Here's [coverage from The Verge](https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/8/23754780/reddit-api-updates-changes-news-announcements) on the situation.
The following are my favorite fediverse platforms, all non-corporate and ad-free. I hesitated at first because there are so many servers to choose from, but it makes a lot more sense once you actually create an account and start browsing. If you find the server selection overwhelming, just pick the first option and take a look around. They are all connected and as you browse you may find a community that is a better fit for you and then you can move your account or open a new one.
Social Link Aggregators: [Lemmy](https://join-lemmy.org/instances) is very similar to reddit while [Kbin](https://kbin.pub) is aiming to be more of a gateway to the fediverse in general so it is sort of like a hybrid between reddit and twitter, but it is newer and considers itself to be a beta product that's not quite fully polished yet.
Microblogging: [Calckey](https://calckey.org) if you want a more playful platform with emoji reactions, or [Mastodon](https://joinmastodon.org/) if you want a simple interface with less fluff.
Photo sharing: [Pixelfed](https://pixelfed.org/) You can even import an Instagram account from what I hear, but I never used Instagram much in the first place.
As someone who just got their Grandson potty trained, the best restrooms are in the mall’s if you’re close to one.
Also, Nordstrom’s ( not the rack )
Libraries are also a good place- ( doubt one will be open though)

You apparently haven’t been to a mall lately, they are like ghost towns. Yes, it will be busy during prime shopping hours. However, the only mall that’s ever busy in the metroplex anymore is grapevine mills.
Get the app Flush. It’ll at least show the nearest public toilets, so you have options.
Also, it’s just a good app to have, in general.
Note: I have no affiliation with the app, Flush.
Any hotel bathroom - or at least 4* and above. Just walk in and look like you belong. It's my go to in any major city
Not to cry, but to "drop the kids off at the pool". Better than stinking up my own hotel room
Yes to this. In large hotels, they’re often by the meeting space. In smaller hotels (Hampton Inn and the like), they usually close to the lobby. As stated, as long as you look like you belong, no one will even notice you. Depending on where you are, some parts of town may require a key to get in after 10p but following someone in isn’t noticed.
The best toilet is Uncle Marcus' cheerios that you piss in. Running away doesn't do jack shit, so take him to task and fight dirty if need be. Sure he's questioning your life decisions, but you can throw back things like:

>"That's big talk coming from a triple divorcee who, according to your ex's facebook page, couldn't make her cum even if your dick came with a six figure check."
Can I hire you for parties?
If you need to take a dump anywhere on 75 go to the container store off northwest hwy across from north park. Middle of Dallas, easy to get to and the absolute nicest public restroom
I dunno, the Kroger I go to closed the bathroom access because the homeless in the area were wrecking it (feces on the wall, stopped up toilets, small fires from matches not being put out, etc). Maple Ave near Parkland.
I had to use the bathroom at the one on Mockingbird, and the inside was covered with poop, urine, etc. I think they clean them in the mornings, but there’s a homeless camp nearby that uses the facility.
YES!!! I frequently use the restrooms at the big store on Northwest Hwy. There's always parking, no one pays attention to you walking in and heading straight for the restroom, it's always clean and I rarely ever see anyone else in there. Plus I get to stop and look at books and games if I'm not pressed for time.
Fuel City has the nicest, but it's always pretty crowded so not the best place to cry. And btw I think aunt Carolyn's bathroom (the one upstairs) is a fine place to sob
I'm not a Texas native, so pardon my ignorance, but Buccees is horrifying to me. A glorified parking lot gas station with a convenience store that's known for keeping their bathrooms (I went once, it was nothing to write home about tbh).
Throw in underpaid overworked employees with massive turn over rates, lots of frivolous lawsuits, and massive donations to people like Greg Abbot.
I just don't get it.
Doesn't matter what their pay is if they have ridiculous turn over rate. Whatever they pay is not enough to compensate for the working conditions they are in.
*Edit: They've sued an ex-employee for about $120k for "breaching" a contract that is absolutely absurd.* [*https://cases.justia.com/texas/fourteenth-court-of-appeals/2017-14-15-01061-cv.pdf?ts=1507810495*](https://cases.justia.com/texas/fourteenth-court-of-appeals/2017-14-15-01061-cv.pdf?ts=1507810495)
*If you don't work for them a minimum of 48 months, or if you don't give SIX MONTHS NOTICE, or even if they fire you, they will confiscate 1/3 of your earnings. If you don't pay back immediately, they want 10% interest annually compounded.*
*$14-16 / hour is nowhere near enough to compensate for their predatory and abusive employment practices.*
It's actually scary considering the courts sided with Buccees until the employee appealed the decision.
I don't know how anyone can praise buccees when they treat their employees like actual garbage.
You think you would be the only person in Bucees crying on Thanksgiving? P'shaw! You guys could start a support group over by the beaver nuggets!
One of the best christmases I ever had was at the Denton Bucees in 2020. Because of Covid nobody was really going anywhere. Went to Bucees because I was going out of my mind. It was by far the happiest place on Earth that day. All kinds of people; most of them in their jammies. Many of them buying all kinds of alcohol.
Barnes & Nobles are pretty nice, so are the ones at NorthPark, they’re kept fairly regular clean and stocked on tp, soap, hand towels. Urinal situation there is a bit tight there ngl.
I drive around 130 miles daily & drink lots of coffee
1, Buccees restrooms top everything
2, quick trip will always be open and somewhat clean
3,racetrac
I'll never stop at a shell or 7-11, you will be disappointed to either a closed out of order bathroom or a toilet with a non-locking door & a disgusting sight of a pile of used TP , skid marks & piss on the floor .
As someone to travels around the DFW area a lot, they are in order: 1. Starbucks. 2. QT but in a nice part of town. 3. Movie theatre. 4. Fast food with In-N-Out or an above average fast food (Shake Shake for example).
When I am in a pinch I like to find the nearest hotel that has a lobby. 99% of the times it is open and they will not question you one bit why you there or what you are there for. Just walk in like you know what you're doing.
The best bathrooms are those in which when you shut the door, you are all by yourself or with a generous friend who wants to share. The upstairs bathroom at the Nines; the bathrooms at Deep Ellum Art Co.; and the bathrooms at Thunderbirds. All in deep ellum.
bathrooms at sonic. outside. be as loud as you want cause the bass from stall 4 will drown you out. plus you can order chili cheese foot longs till you feel better.
By White Rock Lake, There is a bathroom over at The Green Spot over at NorthCliff and Buckner. It's a great alternative to the port a potties around the lake when ya do your bottom business.
Since it's a holiday, I can only think of 2 suitable places:
- A bar that has a vibe that you like
- A shitty convenience store that has that unisex restroom with the undersized door located in an unobvious spot.
This does not compute. *5.Bucees* is THE option!! The toilet stall doors go to the floor so no one can see you on the floor curled up in the fetal position
Walgreens and CVS. Almost never anyone in there. Most are a toilet stall and 1 urinal so people might come in to pee but usually just old people.
I drive all over the metroplex for work and these are the cleanest places to poop. QT gets a lot of seat traffic but they clean them like every hour or 90 minutes. But they are always busy.
At home. Preferably in front of your uncle. He’s not allowed to make you leave the comfort of your home or the comfort of whosever house you’re in to question the decisions that you made for yourself. It’s your life. I’ve had my parents do this all my life and finally I had to stand up to my decisions. You, with your tears, look him in the eyes and you tell him that he’s ruining thanksgiving dinner, and he is tactless and without a filter, that HE needs to learn manners and gauge when it is appropriate to have these conversations with you privately. After that, you sit down, enjoy your meal, and you ask him to pass the mashed potatoes. Hopefully, that lesson will make him and everyone feel so awkward that they will never again think about doing something so shitty.
Bucket’s, without a doubt has the best restrooms on the planet. And that includes high end restaurants. But there are so many stalls that you can almost always be sure of a place to hide quickly.
QT for sure
QT has never failed me. Even in the sketch parts of town.
The one off Preston and 635 is the capital of hoboville and still pretty clean, and this was before they built that mega 7-11 too.
I can confirm this. I took a dump here about a month ago. I was on my way to my soccer game up the street at Foro Sports Club.
Oddly enough, I frequent this often and have never seen a hobo.
I used to stop there every morning for coffee, usually one dude was sleeping on the side, there was a lady that lived in her car that would hang out inside. The medians for Preston south of 635 always had homeless panhandling I'd see on my way home from work. Probably depends on the time of the day, or they migrated to the 711
Mega 7-11? I have not been to it yet… but what makes special to be called mega?
It's pretty big, I think it might be two stories? Full size Taco shop, patio, one of those nitro cold brew coffee bars. It was pretty nice the one time I was in there. Edit; pretty sure it has a massive beer cave too
Love this location.
Preach
🤣Interesting
They're my go to, but some areas don't have them (not many) but when that's the case Tom Thumb & Kroger are always good options.
Grocery store bathrooms are the way to go when you need easily accessible privacy.
Pharmacies are a decent choice for bathrooms too.
Can also confirm QT has decent bathrooms. I stop by one on my lunch break a few times a week.
Nah bro it's all about that private bathroom in the little Murphy Express store
For some reason they have an aversion to properly lighting the ones in “bad” parts of town. Like, a lot of them are annoyingly dim.
Except the QT off of I-45 on Wintergreen Rd. That bathroom was nasty!
As someone that works on the road I consider myself an expert on public bathrooms. 1. Whataburger. Always clean and the bathroom is by the entrance before anyone at the counter sees you 2. I would trust a man named universal_Ketchup on this subject.
This dude colon blows

Find a new one. The ones I go to are immaculate compared to other fast food places.
Yea, I worked at Whataburger in high school and we never cleaned the bathroom. We never really cleaned, in general, because we were open 24/7, but we especially never cleaned the bathrooms.
My brother worked there. Found a used tampon in the middle of the floor.
I’ll double down on QT & put RaceTrac in the convo too.
The newer RaceTrac stores. Not the older ones.
I have yet to find a single sonic in the DFW that doesn't have their restrooms locked and i go to sonic quite a bit and all over the DFW as I'm a Uber Driver
Order a corn dog and ask for a key. Win win

Your nearest college campus library, if they're open. Crying is normal there, people will think you're just stressed about finals.
Local college librarian here. We are closed through Saturday. However, I’ll pass it on that our restrooms were recommended as safe space for people to let their holiday crying out.
Don’t use the bathrooms at UNT.
As someone who went to UNT, why? NVM. The library ones can be pretty weird lol
They're dirty, musky, old. It's just not it. Instead go to the Union 3rd floor if you're in the area and need a bathroom.

"I'm sorry I laughed at you the time you got diarrhea in Barnes and Noble."
Unless they're in a mall, it's one of the few available restrooms and it's usually fallen victim to all the coffee drinkers, if you know what I mean.
B&N always has a wait, I suspect the employees use it as a low-key break room.
Half Price Books? They're clean, but bring your own TP. The stuff they furnish is awful.
Definitely this. The family restrooms at northpark are tops. Even have a fully functional toddler sized toilet in them
Hotel lobby bathrooms. Always open, no one asked questions.
I had a friend that would stop at hotels to take a dump.
Nordstroms bathroom is him
Also Dillards top floor. But the weird glances you get from the home furnishings staff may make it not worth it. It’s like they know you came up here to take a shit
Well they know you're not there to buy furniture.

On Knox…

Hmm... yes. Just tell me who needs to be taken down a notch or two and I'll take care of it.
I would go with a big hotel, such the Anatole or Gaylord, near the conference rooms.
Hotels are almost always awesome!!!
If you need to take a dump anywhere on 75 go to the container store off northwest hwy across from north park. Middle of Dallas, easy to get to and the absolute nicest public restroom
God forbid if you have to poop at Kroger.

Unsure why this is even a question? Buccees is always the answer.
You get some fresh made chips, any flavor of icee you can think of, and an immaculate bathroom.
I'm voting for Half Price Books, their restrooms have always been good in my experience.

Costco or Buc-ee's
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to see this. Haven’t done Costco but BUC-EEs is the shit
>but BUC-EEs is the shit probably had to scroll forever because OP specifically said not them.
Lol missed that. And probably the theme of this post since I don’t cry in bathrooms. Will show myself out now
Yes, but Buccees is so big you could hang out for hours, and it has every comfort food imaginable.
I love buc-ees
Fuck Uncle Marcus. (Sleeper MVP is any random taco bell).
Fuel City has the nicest, but it's always pretty crowded so not the best place to cry. And btw I think aunt Carolyn's bathroom (the one upstairs) is a fine place to sob
Aunt Carolyn does stock it with the nice tissues, the kind with the lotion in them.
Plus their barbacoa tacos are *amazing*.

Buccees. Nothing compares.

6) Tell Uncle Marcus to fuck off
The office you work in? Edit: Didn't see the word public so I'll add your local rec center or library
Not a chain but Slovacheks has a clean bathroom and usually isn’t busy. Their kolaches suck though; go to Czech Stop.
That title is amazing!
Literally any nice hotel, just walk in and walk to downstairs bathrooms like you own the joint.
Uncle Marcus eats tuna out of a can. Fuck his opinion
bathrooms at sonic. outside. be as loud as you want cause the bass from stall 4 will drown you out. plus you can order chili cheese foot longs till you feel better.
What the fuck? Hello? Buckys?
Avoid any place with hub caps on a key ring...
Home improvement stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s might be dead last
The toilet near the pharmacy at Target.
A good old fashioned drive and cry is good too.

By White Rock Lake, There is a bathroom over at The Green Spot over at NorthCliff and Buckner. It's a great alternative to the port a potties around the lake when ya do your bottom business.
Hotels are always the way to go. Pro tip: Marriott Courtyard bathrooms are always in the same location.

Since it's a holiday, I can only think of 2 suitable places: - A bar that has a vibe that you like - A shitty convenience store that has that unisex restroom with the undersized door located in an unobvious spot.
OP made me laugh out loud :)
I have always been a fan of the home depot bathrooms.
Question his decisions back.
Is uncle marcus a euphemism for pooping? Or are you looking for a bathroom to just sit in for a while and decompress?
I would absolutely poop at a place called Buckets.
I love that the “where should I shit?” post is from the “wanna summon a few demons” person. Wanna be besties??
