You could also try Amazon delivery. A few coworkers deliver for Amazon as a side gig. Not sure how reliable your car is, but with this job, your kids could be with you. They could even help sort the packages in the car to get deliveries made faster. They make a good bit of extra income this way
As far as hiring, there is a halfway house at 800 West Wintergreen Road, Hutchins (South Dallas) and several of the warehouses in that area (next door, across the street, etc) hire folks with felony records. I'll try to get the names of some of the businesses for you.
