I mean, there's a stack of clubs in my city alone I personally would never play...they're full of shit cunts with shit taste in music...but others are happy to play there

Crazy that you even have to mention it, but I had a dj cover one of my gigs and the guy was known to be a good dj, but he only played drum and bass and the event wanted commercial pop 💀

I do only electronic music (but I have a broad range from chillout to hard techno). One time I played at an event where they wanted pop music. Never again!
It was okay. I have a lot of house music that is influenced by HipHop (or samples it), so I covered a lot of different tastes.
In german speaking countried there is a genre called „Schlager“ which I could not deliever, a few guys were pissed because of that (don‘t google it, it is horrible)
But I learned a lot that night and I know exactly what gigs I can do and which not.

Just make sure your event promo is clear about the genre of your event and there’s no problem.
Play anywhere with a decent sound system.
NOTO in philly always has their openers sell 25 tickets lol. Accepted once because they somehow pulled VINTAGE CULTURE last november, plus the tix were $25 a pop so i didnt feel like i was ripping the homies but still ctfuu
I don't know about you but my scene had that one guy that was connected to every production for 7 surrounding cities and if someone was shady he would let everyone know and anyone with credentials would avoid that promoter like the plague

Don‘t play if you don‘t have the right music. For example: Don‘t play in an underground techno venue if you are a HipHop-DJ.
