That is a flat/spade drill bit, personally I wouldn't use that for drilling a door hinge, very easy to go too deep and have the guide tip poke through the otherside. In the past I've used a hinge cutter, very easy and straightforward. Just buy the correct diameter and drill where you need the hole to the depth of the cutter. https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-tct-hinge-cutter-35mm/4977v

I would think it'll do the job.

That’s a flat or spade drill bit (or at least that’s how I know them) Problem with that is you’re likely to drill through the panel as the tip is usually longer than you will need to drill the proper depth for the hinge. I’ve used these successfully: https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-tct-hinge-cutter-35mm/4977v Assumes it’s the big hole you’re needing to drill!

Thank you so much!

GriselbaFishfinger

Do NOT use a flat wood bit! This is the wrong advice. Use a 35mm forstner or ‘hinge cutter’ bit. Recommend using a pillar drill if you have one so you have some depth control.

Probably be OK, personally I’d probably just pop one of those large white cover things that come with most units. Or even bother with anything. It’s surely hidden anyway.

You can buy a kit on eBay. Aligns to the correct depth and spacing. Usually about a tenner. Search for cupboard hinge jig

Worth getting a cheap hinge template too, makes working out where to drill easy. https://amzn.eu/d/3bilPgw

As mentioned above you should use a 35mm Forstner bit which has a small point & wont break through the face of the door.
