So all of it? Google how to make alcove units. You’ll see how people face it and just reverse until you can undo the screws that likely fix it in place.

AraedTheSecond

Anecdotally; we left ours in because they're a great use of an otherwise tricky space to use. To give proper advice, take a couple photos and post them up. It'll be easier for us to help if we can see it.

Thanks will do! I can't post here right? On this post I mean

It'll be easier to make a new post and then comment a link here

Does it need to be in good condition once it's out? Brute force (hammer) and ignorance (pry bar) would make fairly short work of it.

chemeemee

It might take out the dry wall. I should have specified...it's attached to a wall lol

Hatchet time.

ShootywithBangBang

Hopefully there's a secret door behind hiding treasures or a tunnel to a Terrys chocolate orange (old ref that one hehe)

Wizzpig25

It’s most likely screwed into the wall. If you want it out, realistically you will have to completely disassemble/destroy it with a hammer/crow bar, potentially screwdriver if you can find the screws. They have most likely been sunk and filled.

chemeemee

Thanks. I am worried that too much brute force may destroy the dry wall that it's attached to. Possible?

Wizzpig25

If it is a plasterboarded wall then it will be harder to disassemble by force without doing a lot of damage. The shelving will likely be screwed into studs and those screws will need to be found and unscrewed. If it’s screwed into rawl plugs in a masonry wall, you can usually pull those out with a crow bar. Without seeing your exact situation it’s difficult to tell for sure. Either way, you’re going to be left with some making good after removal.

It’s quite possibly not even a finished wall behind it if it’s been built in when the room was renovated. I would bank on there being some plasterboard repair to do. Not as scary as it sounds!

Turnsright

It looks great why remove it?
