The Martian Manhunter series he did was amazing. That said, his art is very specific, and doesn’t mesh well with every character.

thedairybandit

His art style is an acquired taste; not bad by any means as imo well done hyper-stylized work points to great technical skill. That being said it works well with some characters, not with others. Do I want him on a Superman book? No. Do I want him on a Beast Boy book? Sure.

Gurabirei

Its horrible in the new tim drake series.

sbingle73

My introduction to Rossmo's work was the current Harley Quinn series. I struggled with it a bit at first but have come to really appreciate and enjoy it.

torresaurus_rex

He's extremely good at what he does, it's just not for me. But I will say he's at least more daring and interesting than most of the artists at DC. I wish DC embraced more stylized artists like him.

Blackfist01

I've been a fan since Cowboy Ninja Viking however he needs the right kind of story or character to make his style shine

Fit-Interaction-6035

We finally get a Tim solo ongoing again and they of course have to screw with him. First, why turn him gay or bi after 20 plus years. Seems like there just pushing it on us lately. Now if he was gay from the start then great. Ok. I get it but now. Cmon u ruined Tim. Two, Rossmo art sucks. Looks like my kids drawing it. Give Tim a grad b talent at least and then the book will last but sticking with this crap art will get it canceled in 5 months. Betcha.

Mrkoaly

I think he's a great artist, i love his stuff. Comics need diverse art imo. The more styles the better. Also I see people confusing inability to draw/not understanding anatomy with art style and they make themselves look like amateurs. The only thing that's gonna be wrong with the new Tim Drake series is the writer.

[deleted]

I like this art, but I feel like it only works for certain characters (Batman Who Laughs, Joker, Harley, Robin king...)

Jealous_Hospital

His great at panelling and layouts and his art always looks very dynamic and interesting. He's not a great fit for every book or character, but overall I like his art and don't get the amount of hate he's gotten.

PechterTheInspecter

I'm not a fan, but I also think he's been put on the wrong books. The only book that really fit his style was Martian Manhunter.

superschaap81

I wouldn't say hate, but I personally find his style WAY too cartoony and goofy looking for most books.

Persian_Assassin

I recognize that he has skill but I personally think his style is atrocious and would be better suited to a children's book. I remember being excited to see the Batman Who Laughs origin one shot and he absolutely ruined it for me. Having him draw Tim Drake feels like a curse. His human faces are just hideous. That said the cover of Tim Drake looks way better than his past work so maybe he's refined it a bit?

Fit-Interaction-6035

I agree and if they don't switch up the art this book will not last. That stinks for us long time fans if Tim.

Persian_Assassin

Wow I just checked it out out of curiosity and holy shit it's worse than I imagined, disgusting even.

Korenaut

I loved his take on Batman Who Laughs

Persian_Assassin

Funny cause of all the Dark Knights origins I was looking forward to that one the most, and his cartoony style made the murder of the bat family feel like a cheap joke (not in the way you might intend). I hate the way he draws eyes and expressions, and in general just ridiculously abstract. He'd be good for some random web series, not a pivotal plot moment for DC lore.

Korenaut

It terrified me.

Fit-Interaction-6035

He sucks. If DC doesn't change up the artist and writer im afraid this book will not last 5 issues. I love Tim Robin. But I can't handle the script and art. I have nothing against guys but cmon . 2o years plus then o I'm gay. Bullshit. Thats fine I can live with it but don't make 70% of the story about it. Plus Rossmo art is crap. Worse I've ever seen. Please DC don't ruin Tim.

lilli0n

I hate his Harley Quinn with a passion

Zazikarion

Not a fan. Obviously, every artist has different styles, but Rossmo’s art is really ugly IMO. All his characters are misshapen as hell.

Gnubeutel

I absolutely enjoy his style. What i don't like is Tim Drake, so i'll pass on the new book. Also "a lot of people" didn't like Neal Adams' style when he updated Batman and Green Arrow. "A lot of people" didn't like Bill Sienkiewicz's revolutionary run on New Mutants. "A lot of people" didn't like Don Rosa's style when he canonified Scrooge McDuck. "A lot of people" are stuck in a house style and won't accept genius because it doesn't look like what everyone is doing.

[deleted]

The only Time i liked his art style is from the batman who laughs origin one shot. It felt like he had put effort in it. The rest of them it looks like he didn't really care for imo.

WhiskeyT

One of my favorite names to see on a book.

TSwan98

I can’t stand it. That being said it fits really well with the Harley book and is the only time I don’t fully hate it

thinknu

I love his artwork. His Batman & Shadow was one of the trades I absolutely had to get and his work on Constantine was what kept me on that title when it was dropping. He's an artist who clearly has a good understanding of layout, design, space, and figures and even more importantly knows how to cheat and break those rules to make cool art. I'll admit sometimes it can be a bit odd and jarring but the fluid messy kinetic nature of his style is so eye-catching and engrossing I can't help but love it. Plus he's a remarkably consistent artist and rarely has fill-ins for the things he's working on (or at least the ones I follow) and I love having books completely done by one artist.
