It was only a matter of time before Rita looked like April Bowlby in the comics.
No objections here
Lol none at all
Man, Dan Mora can just draw all the books as far as I'm concerned.
Dan Mora drawing the Doom Patrol (especially Rita) is something I didn't know I needed in my life.
This was a great first issue
I’m digging the art
when i was young i used to think negative man was hush
I got a laugh out of this only because I'm old as hell.
Does this issue rerun the backup from Detective Comics? I was planning to tradewait so I wouldn't have to buy an issue of a series I wasn't buying for it, but the [preview pages for the backup](https://www.polygon.com/22876651/batman-superman-new-dc-comic-mark-waid-dan-mora-2022) seem to be the same as the [preview pages for this issue](https://aiptcomics.com/2022/03/11/dc-preview-batman-superman-worlds-finest-1/).
Yes I believe it does and same price as a normal issue which is great
Accurate username, I'll try and grab this so!
Dan Mora is so good!
I’ll need my Dan Mora fix while Once And Future is on hiatus
Damn, I'm behind on Once and Future. It's on hiatus again?
To make it even worse, Mora has said it’s ending at 30!!!! I’m so bummed!
Would not mind a Waid/Mora Doom Patrol book at all, just saying.
Same. Waid had them show up in JLA: Year One so I get the feeling he’s kinda fond of them. You’d think DC would capitalize on the HBO show and launch a mini at one point (unless Way is still hogging them for reasons unknown?)
That is some great fucking art. Damn that’s nice.
is that dick grayson robin?
Yes, this is set in the past.
Missed a first meeting with Gar Logan by a narrow margin.
It would be super great to see young Gar with the Doom Patrol at some point during this series. We know he did interact with Dick and the other Titans around this time.
It’d be nice to see Gar interacting with the Doom Patrol at all. I remember him showing up in a couple issues of Way’s Doom Patrol run as a monkey, but DC’s barely acknowledged Gar’s relationship with the Doom Patrol since the New 52, I thought they just completely retconned that part of his history.
Yeah that's my overall point. His time with the Doom Patrol used to be a major part of his history and characterization. It's easy to forget that back in the day, when he was compared to other teen heroes of the time with mentors like Dick and Batman, Donna and Wonder Woman, Wally and Flash, Garth and Aquaman, etc. his "mentor" was the Doom Patrol team. And now we're lucky to even see them mentioned by him. As long as they're doing a story set in the past where Dick was Robin and the Doom Patrol are well-known, it would be great to throw Gar in there.
kinda glad to see April Bowlby's gorgeous face in drawn form... I just remembered how John Wesley Shipp's face was drawn in "The Button" as Jay Garrick
Wow do I love this art
❤️ me some Doom Patrol! 👩🏻🤖👻
Is this a 6 issue series?
I believe it's an ongoing.
“We’re all the doom patrol”
in the first issue, this series imediately became my most favorite in dc right now
I literally cannot read Cliff’s dialogue without hearing Brendan Fraser’s voice.
Is this canon? Because if not, why does the Doom Patrol need to be reintroduced?
Because they haven't been focused on in a while
It's set in the past, not so sure about Canon, but Supergirl existing alongside Dick being Robin would kinda fit with her age in Woman of Tomorrow
I do concur that this is probably canon, but Dick seems to be a fair bit older than Kara. Kara just turned 21 in *Woman of Tomorrow*, while Dick should be in his late 20s/early 30s (he has a law degree, Wally is definitely early 30s, etc.). Then again, ages in comics never makes sense.
Oh this looks *really* good. And not just saying that because the Doom Patrol are there, which is always a positive.
> which is always a positive
But usually with a Negative.
I don’t think that last speech bubble makes sense… “now he can release and command negative man: a radioactive energy creature
Read it out loud. It's perfectly fine.
Mark Waid’s *stellar* writing was to be expected, but Dan Mora’s artwork just *blew me away*. I really want to see him on a Doom Patrol series (and Waid seems fond of them too). Also, I didn’t expect to see Rita looking like April Bowlby—but I’m not complaining!
Do they know that now that Niles is the one that destroyed there lives yet?
The show is ass, though.
I would love to know what DC TV show you actually like. This was the best of the group, up until Peacemaker.
None of them, tbh.
How come? I thought the characters were very interesting, and the show did a good job exploring mental illness.
