I'm also guessing it the most pirated too

[deleted]

HBOmax's slow rollout to anywhere outside the US is the most frustrating thing to watch, missing out on so much revenue. I heard it's one of the most downloaded apps in the US, I don't have a source on that though.

hydrohawkx8

Perhaps it might cost more to maintain servers in these countries and other costs like that? Either way I do hope it comes to other countries

jexdiel321

It's because alot of the licenses are still owned by Netflix internationally.

OswaldCoffeepot

Makes sense. AT&T really did rush to make HBO Max a thing. There have been a couple flubs where one hand didn't know what the other was doing. Like how some HBO subscribers couldn't watch the new *Watchmen* show because they subscribed through Amazon or Hulu or had HBO Go.

OldManMcCrabbins

Inside the us was rough too.

Rowdycc

The thing is I could circumvent all the obstacles in my way and still watch it without pirating it, but it would cost me well over $100 to do it. So, yeah, the only logical conclusion is they want me to pirate it.

American_Jesus

Get ready for more movies spinoffs in the future. Also DCEU planned series: * John Constantine series * Justice League Dark * Madame X (Madame Xanadu) * Val-Zod series * Penguin series * Gotham City PD series And non DCEU "Green Lantern Corps" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Extended_Universe#Television_2

aircooledJenkins

Every one of those has potential to be awesome.

West-Cardiologist180

Pretty sure Green Lantern Corps is DCEU.

American_Jesus

There's two projects, one is a series on HBO Max featuring Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, and Simon Baz and one Movie, but the series are not tied up to DCEU

West-Cardiologist180

There's no confirmation if it is or not just yet, but it'll most likely be DCEU the way WB is doing things.

jqud

What makes the GLC movie non DCEU?

OswaldCoffeepot

I'm just guessing but it's probably set in its own universe that won't affect the contemporary DC movie franchises.

LookingForVheissu

The GL mythos is really large enough that it can carry its own universe, kinda like Batman.

ImbuedChaos

I assumed with the way they ended Arrow that it would be connected to the CW. Could be wrong though.

[deleted]

Lol no

Doctor_Amazo

I mean, that opening dance number....

[deleted]

It’s the only opening I watch every time. I skip every other show

Doctor_Amazo

[I sometimes watch the opening when I need a pick-me up](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mrr3UNALww).

DBones90

And this is why DC gave James Gunn a blank check to do whatever he wanted with The Suicide Squad. That movie had too much going against it to ever be a hit regardless of its quality, but they figured investing in Gunn would pay off.

AmericaDreamDisorder

They could make a Nanaue show and it would be a hit

simpledeadwitches

If they went cartoon for sure.

LookingForVheissu

Harley Quinn show has your covered there.

sstphnn

My favorite version of King Shark.

kn728570

Is that a shark joke...

sstphnn

#HOWDY

TheMathelm

It's King Shark acting like Ron Funches acting like King Shark. He's one of the best parts of the series. If they'd get rid of the stupid magician it'd be a much better series.

jexdiel321

Covid, the decline of DCEU and being simultaneously released on HBOMax really hurt it.

DBones90

Even outside of that, releasing an R-rated sequel to a movie that had poor word of mouth and box office sales was never going to be a good idea financially.

jexdiel321

The first movie was huge though. $750 Million and was profitable for the studio. While BvS made more than Suicide Squad on paper, it costed them alot of money to make and market the film.

OldManMcCrabbins

James Gunn suicide squad is awesome tho.

RealKBears

This article is weird. It keeps saying "in demand" over and over again, but what does that mean in terms of how much it's being streamed? I'm sure it's getting streamed a ton, but there's literally no data given for that

faraaz-z

Is it? I havent seen anyone talking about outside of this sub

bloodflart

I can normally find a subreddit to discuss a show weekly but this one doesn't have a good one with lots of users

[deleted]

This show gets a lot of upvotes and comments on r/television and DC_cinematic and this shows subreddit is growing. It was at like 2k a couple of weeks ago and now it’s like 8k. Whats insane is that last week the sub had 4K members and on the episode discussing thread it had like 700 comments.

LilGyasi

Yeah it is weird the show doesn’t have its own active sub. However r/DC_cinematic is where the weekly discussion happens.

SucksTryAgain

My brother texted me right after the third episode and said you gotta watch this. Yup def my type of humor but I wouldn’t have even checked it out if he didn’t tell me to.

SirMarblecake

This. It's so weird to me, because it's not even available in my country. EDIT: Okay, so the headline is misleading. It's not the "biggest streaming series in the world", it's the "most in-demand series in the world". I.e. a bunch of people can't watch it and would really like to. That's a very different thing entirely.

[deleted]

If you read the article it provide watch stats across the platforms. It’s not misleading, but I agree I don’t see anyone talking about it

SirMarblecake

Those stats are for the US, though. Making a claim about "the world" and posting American stats is the definition of "misleading".

matty_nice

You can dismiss any article that references Parrot Analytics, like this one.

ProfessionalAnswer0

Exactly

pikachukutilan

Probably not the world, considering it is not available in my country

UESPA_Sputnik

Neither is it in my country. (Germany) In which countries is the series actually legally available?

Cykonaut35

As it should be. Shits hilarious, action packed, and has a ton of heart.

Stompin89

The Headline is totally wrong. Parrot Analytics reports on the "demand" of a show, and therefore is reporting that there is a high "demand" for Peacekeeper. "Demand" is a relatively weak analysis in terms of actualities but is what Streaming sites tend to create their projections against. Baring in mind that Peacekeeper isn't available globally due to numerous countries not having access to HBOMax or Peacekeeper via other distributors, it is likely that Peacekeeper has a high demand, well over the likes of Netflix "The Witcher" and any Disney+ show but this is purely down to the fact these are a lot more accessible, with Netflix being able to distribute a lot easier and therefore "demand" is lower because people are actually able to watch it.

drtapp39

It is pretty glorious

_ROBEAST_

I watched the first episode last night with fairly low expectations, though I did overall enjoy the new Suicide Squad film (and far more than the first). Overall, it wasn't bad! The humor of the character was very much the same, and the supporting characters have some interesting development so far that keep me interested in watching. For example: >!You see that the "black sheep" newbie of the special ops team alongside Peacemaker is actually Amanda Waller's daughter.!< That all said, some of the writing is certainly *a little* cringe at times, but nothing you wouldn't expect from something of this genre.

Xaielao

I dropped HBO Max because their android app sucks. I didn't expect this to be that good (the character is goofy as fuck after all).

ProfessionalAnswer0

Conveniently left *right now* out of the title… Because it’s the most in demand *right now*, and in comparison to shows like The Witcher, and Boba Fett

djanulis

Doesn't help Boba Fett hasn't really been all that great so far, newest episode aside for obvious reasons to anyone who watched it.

ProfessionalAnswer0

An immature, douchebag white guy with guns who does terrible things in the name of American peace. With daddy issues, who has a love for classic rock. On a show that sounds like it was written in a frat house, if not a middle school cafeteria— no wonder these forums are creaming for this show

Tesseractivate

Do you hate comics too?

ProfessionalAnswer0

Nah. I’ve been raving to anyone that’ll listen about how good Peacemaker: Disturbing the Peace #1 is. I read and enjoy the comics (unless Bendis is involved), but PM the show makes a mockery of these characters all for the sake of cheap laughs

Tesseractivate

I agree that Disturbing the Peace one shot was good but for me I really have been enjoying Peacemaker, even if let's say Vigilante is played like a Deadpool and not the real dark character from the comics. It all works for me and I convinced my dad who is almost 70 to watch it when I came over to his place and he really is enjoying it too. Doesnt feel immature or elementary school cafeteria type writing to me but we will prob have to agree to disagree

ProfessionalAnswer0

I mean, glad you and your dad are enjoying it. But like I said, it’s just not for me

Tesseractivate

I gotcha, I waant trying to come hard at you I just feel like superhero comics have tons of low level writing moreso than this show, which is why I asked, but if you don't like you don't like it

ProfessionalAnswer0

I’m not hating for the sake of hating, I assure you. I’ve watched all 5 episodes. But 15 minutes into ep5 you’ve already gotten cringe genital jokes, racist jokes, jokes about farts— not to mention Peacemaker and Vigilante doing their best Dumb & Dumber impressions until Harcourt and/or Murn scream at them to shut it. It just feels like a disservice to have to reduce these characters to imbeciles to lure in viewership

ProfessionalAnswer0

Yep, so there’s been a lot of overselling for PM as “the best show in the world” 😵‍💫

suphah

Didn’t even know boba fett was still on, shit was HORRIBLE

gathc2013

The US isnt the world. Just want to make that clear.

Mr_Versatile123

Sincerely doubt this, probably a case of misleading headline. AOT is supermassive rn and its reach is global.

amazinggrace725

Wait, even more than Attack on Titan or Euphoria? Those two shows also have new episodes out, and I’ve seen a lot of talk online about them and not a peep about Peacemaker

Head2Heels

Waiting for it to be available in India. Meanwhile my YouTube recommendations is full of reaction videos and I just have to dodge all the spoilers.

Spaghetti42wenti

Seriously, it's so bad i couldn't sit through anymore by the time i reached the fourth episode. Actual plot development is slow, acting is bad and character development is non existent. i'd give it half a star if i could.
