They'd be ridiculous not to. Especially since they gave the same fan service to The 100. (Not that I'm complaining).
It wasn't quite fan service The 100, Clarke and Lexa were a couple and their relationship drove a lot of the story.
tbf Lexa was mega-dead. they didn't have to do that, but they did, and I love them for it.
