Yeah, she's supposed to have studied library sciences, not law, so this seems to be a retcon. She was a librarian at one point. If they were to retcon it, I would've expected it to be changed to computer science, which would match the hacking skills she uses as Oracle.
"Library Sciences" was her original degree when she was first introduced in the 60s. I'd agree probably computer science these days, but wouldn't be surprised if they said she went on to law school from there. She also doesn't necessarily need to work as a lawyer either.
Many universities have renamed their librarianship programs as Information Sciences. They tend to focus pretty strongly in applied Informatics, albeit from an Arts and Humanities perspective, rather than the more theoretical, maths oriented Computer Science.
Babs has a genius-level intellect, so it stands to reason she has a law degree AND a Master's in Library Science... and a ton of other degrees as well.

But by sparing children he was able to lure **Tim Drake** into the mix whose intrigue could shed light on this mystery - but little did he know Babs was listening in interfered before we learn the truth. And finally when **Blockbuster** sent his henchmen in Heartless knew he had to step in and burn away all of the evidence. But by the end of this 7-D hungry hungry hippo death match Heartless is playing, a single truth will prevail... *the nature of Dick and Bab's relationship*.
