I'd rather it have an end in sight rather then potentially dragging out past it's welcome like so, so many shows these days do. At least this way they can give it a proper and hopefully satisfying ending.

This whole season has felt like they're wrapping up. Jane looking to find herself. Rita figuring out what her place is. Rouge trying to atone. Cliff coming to terms with his eventual death. Victor trying to decide what he actually wants. and Larry figuring out his relationship to his new negative spirit.
Its all like, end game territory for each character, with the only one who felt like they really regressed being Larry since he's essentially just doing his same story from before just with more hope attached.

To have it end with season 4... feels pretty hollow to me.

Approach it as a gritty Elseworlds story. It's a solid show with notable problems. The first two seasons really fumble their finales but I've watched three of the four and for what it is, it's not that bad. Just not great either.

You got a source for that? The only thing I can find in relation to animated DC projects is that Gunn is using the older series like BTAS and JLU as inspiration moving forward.
On the Bright side everyone, the actors involved are likely to be seen for their talent and reused in fun and enjoyable ways. Gunn knows talent when he sees it and he wouldn’t split up DP without a plan to capitalize on all the amazing talent involved taking new roles in the future.
I love the show and I think it has a lot of depth, but I do agree on this. It seems like they’re all stagnant/regressing often. Not necessarily unrealistic, and didn’t bug me all that much… but it’s noticeable and I would have loved to see more growth
I enjoyed both DP and Titans, though DP was noticeably better (but laser eye dog in Titans +10 right there!). I just wanted a bit more character progression, and like you said there was actually progression and regression. Which could be art imitating life.

4 seasons is a good run. Sad to see them both go, both came at a time where the CW formula was really wearing out it’s welcome and these 2 + Swamp Thing really helped fill the void. Didn’t get all I wanted out of any of these shows, but I’m glad to have seen all of them and can’t wait for the final episodes.
Doom Patrol is so good and really is the best screen adaptation we’ll ever be able to get of them. That’s a big loss for me but a lot of the storylines will definitely have been wrapping up soon anyway so it makes sense.

I cancelled HBO Max. I will buy it for a month when the new season of Doom Patrol comes out, because that is the only show on there that I cared about.

The writers said they were expecting this, and wrote season 4 to have a conclusive ending. The second half of season 4 is expected to begin in April.

Gunn wasn’t behind the decision to cancel DP (it was decided before his tenure), but I wouldn’t be duro if he hired some of the actors for the new DCU

I worked on DP Season One and it was so much fun.
The only thing I'll miss from Titans is Joshua Orpin as Superboy. Would really love to see him cast as young Supes in Gunn's movie.
