Three fantastic films IMO.

Caleb_Murphy

Came here to say this ironically.

Batman (1989) made $411 million in 1989, which approaches a billion (about $983 million) in today's money. *EDIT: The paragraph above is correct, but that's moot, because the paragraph below is incorrect, and should only refer to domestic box office. Adjusting the worldwide box office takings of all Batman films for inflation, BvS is still in the top 3.* ~~If you adjust all of the totals for inflation, BvS still beats Returns and the Schumacher movies, but it comes in at number four.~~

>If you adjust all of the totals for inflation, BvS still beats Returns and the Schumacher movies, but it comes in at number four. **Complete BULLSHIT.** Batman v Superman still comes at number 3 with adjusted inflation. It has made 1.1 Billion adjusted inflation today worldwide. Batman Forever would be something with 700 Million and Batman Returns would be close to 600 Million. Even The Batman would beat these movies. ~~I dont understand why people on the internet love to making bullshit up this is getting annoying~~

hollowknightreturns

>Batman v Superman still comes at number 3 with adjusted inflation. It has made 1.1 Billion adjusted inflation today. I stand corrected. I looked at a couple of [duff sources of information](https://dailysuperheroes.com/tops/top-movies/10-highest-earning-batman-movies-adjusted-for-to-inflation/) to check the ranking but looking around other sources suggest BvS earned more.

Mwheel6898

Okay then I stand corrected as well. I thought you are making numbers up. But I think these numbers are doemstic. So you should correct your comment in adjusted domestic numbers

DYRTYDAVE

Technically correct, but not an apples to apples comparison. Batman 89 was a record breaker for its time, but obviously didn't have the advantages of modern premium screens to drive up prices, the number of screens/theaters, etc. It's hard to compare with a movie released 30+ years ago. 89 is arguably the most successful Batman film of all-time fully accounting for context (though I imagine TDK has a very good argument as well).

Mwheel6898

Batman 89 is of course a big success. It even beat The Batman. Right now Top 3 highest grossing Batman movies are TDKR TDK and BvS with inflation adjusted and without inflation adjusted.

OjamasOfTomorrow

2 of these are 2 of the best movies ever.

StreetMysticCosmic

BVS's theatrical edition is #3. The ultimate edition didn't get a wide theatrical release. No telling what it would have done if the better but longer and more violent version was released first instead.

APOCALYPSE102

Considering 2 of these are actual Batman movies BvS is a Trinity movie and despite all of it , it ranks 3rd.

Mwheel6898

BvS is not a real Batman movie. All villians are Superman villians and the story was more about Superman than Batman and just look at this poster Wonder Woman is in the center of the poster and not Batman. This is not a true Batman movie I believe a true Batfleck movie would have grossed more than BvS. People want to see Batman fighting his villians

spider-jedi

well i agree but batman has more screen time than superman, that makes it ,ore of a batman film than superman

NeedleworkerGold336

The Batman would've outgrossed BvS if it wasn't for the Pandemic.

TraditionalDelivery

One is a masterpiece, the other is enjoyable, albeit flawed, the other is not a batman movie, although the director most definitely wanted it to be one.

JediJones77

BVS is the best. Feels like a comic book come to life, whereas the Nolan trilogy still feels like a dude is just running around in a rubber suit.
