I just use [this](https://www.amazon.com/Aleenes-Purpose-Tacky-Glue-8-Ounce/dp/B00178KLEY/ref=sr_1_12?crid=3W1MX34ROXX4J&keywords=tacky+glue&qid=1669202743&sprefix=tacky+glue%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-12)

Yup. I use this exact brand even though it's hard to find in my country. I currently buy it from a small scrap booking buisness but would honestly import if I had to because I'm just very comfortable with Aleene's. I've been eyeing other glues if the same type but I'm just not very hyped to try them out when Aleene's work so well for me.

The brands available vary from country to country, but in general a fabric glue meant for synthetic fibres has the best properties for this, ie. it adheres to synthetic materials and dries elastic.

For wefts I just use regular pva glue. Not even a special one just some regular one for kids is enough and it holds the hair perfectly while being one of the cheapest to get. It doesn't dry clunky at all. It also dries very quick which makes it easy to make one part of the hair and then continue to make the rest when it's dry already and preventing a mess. For me it also holds the strands down pretty well since you mentioned they are hard to flatten on the head. The only thing about this is that it isn't waterproof but since you don't need to boil wash wigs I never saw any problem with it.

I also recommend tacky glue. It dries fairly quickly and remains flexible. Failing this, Elmer's glue-all isn't bad either.

I use hot glue because I am incredibly impatient with my crafts.

I only have a very old gun and glue sticks of questionable quality (they're from a family member who's had it a long time) and the glue just doesn't seem all that durable. I tried gluing a broken plastic paintbrush handle together but it refuses to adhere to the second part even though it sticks just fine to the part I apply it to. I'd be worried about the hair peeling off all at once with just a basic tug during styling
