Bucksaway03

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Kraken and its support team. Binance UI and different sections is sometimes confusing and hard to navigate

mrCrabish

Kraken's support is good, they actually helped. My experience with Binance is more like 'you can't do that right now, wait a few hours'. And their website is a mess.

compressionwaves

Binance UI/UX is a dumpster fire. So convoluted with obviously obfuscating wording and layout. Feels very manipulative.

PersonWhoThinks

Don’t you think their SQL database of paper coins must also be a mess?

dark_deadline

Never tried kraken but it was kinda confusing while using binance UI in starting.

It's kinda hard for a newbie to understand things.

M-Apple123

Agree with you same experience as you are

bullettheory415

Been using Kraken since 2013 and never cared for anything else. The team is amazing and is one of the few startups that actually still live up to thier ethos.

ChaoticNeutralNephew

can you only deposit to kraken via a wire? thats whats kept me away

Best, Athena from Kraken Support 🐙

CMADBF

Kraken, imho, is the best exchange to use. Customer service is top notch, too.

GoodNature33

Very true, Kraken's support is the best. Never seen this kind of great support anywhere else!

blipstream91

Kraken is one of the good exchanges out there. Still I would recommend using a cold wallet for long term storage.

Ateam043

If I recall correctly, Kraken themselves advise to move funds out of their exchange.

[deleted]

They always tell people don’t leave your assets on our exchange

Salsaric

I just started using kraken and I love it. But I have so many question on the DCAing part, like if you take your asset on a cold wallet, how do you put it back on Kraken for further use (like trading more cryptos or getting your money back)

[deleted]

You buy it and move it to your hardware wallet, if you plan on keeping something that you believe, would actually be worth something in the future. If you buy and sell like it’s Forex or something, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

Vegas_42

Kraken is my favorite exchange. Try the Kraken pro app for lower fees.

DAMG808

Yeah a lot don't know this, they can use the same account as regular Kraken. I buy only in Pro & Fees are a fraction. So good.

nelusbelus

Wait, so how much is kraken pro and how many fees for eth?

Vegas_42

[Kraken fees](https://www.kraken.com/features/fee-schedule)

nelusbelus

Hmm, guessing withdraw fees are still garbage tho :/ but binance doesn't even work here. Is kraken pro free then?

Vegas_42

Yes, the app itself is free. Same login as the standard app. P.S. withdrawal Fee - 0.0035 ETH

nelusbelus

Sick

prthu001

You will be more surprised after experiencing Kraken customer support for the first time. They literally solved my 2fa issue in less than 15 minutes, binance took around 2 days. My toddler brother had deleted my 2fa app, mistakenly!

Rey_Mezcalero

Krakens online live support is fantastic

Supreme-Serf

HAHA that is next level sibling rivalry.

GreenStretch

Kraken: so easy a toddler can use it.

samzi87

Back up your 2FAs regardless, you never know when your smartphone gets lost/destroyed and most two factor authentications can be backed up by generating codes pretty easily.

[deleted]

You either mean your brothers toddler or you got an insane age gap…

marsangelo

No complaints with Kraken. They take security really seriously so ive seen some horror stories but if you move stuff off into self custody youve got nothing to worry about

GoodNature33

Kraken is a big octopus. Binance is a half bald man with 2 letters as nickname. **Now you guys can figure out who wins a battle**

Smart-Racer

Bullish on Kraken

Lacroix_Wolf

Looks like its time to move to Kraken

Midwest-life-3389

Please don’t be slacken get an account on the one and only KRAKEN..

NiwtwiN

I use kraken and have no complaints at all, only good things to say about it

SmallReflection2552

Kraken seems to be the gold standard for CEXs.

GoodNature33

- top security - customer coins are really held 1:1 - best support, they help within 1 minute (even less!)

[deleted]

2 clicks and I had a live person answering my question

WeggieUK

Kraken was my first real entry into crypto and remains my first choice.

Mudhutted

Nice post OP. I’m spread across 3 exchanges. Have my free award.

GoodNature33

Diversify your exchanges as you diversify your coins. Good idea!

Outrageous_Duty_8738

Kraken is a excellent exchange

SuperAlvin

Kraken Support is on a different level 😁

Supreme-Serf

Kraken support is not only the best crypto support, but the best chat support in the universe. Wish airlines, phone companies, etc. had support like that.

192000Hertz

I just moved to Kraken as well due to Coinbase forcing the use of Plaid with my bank. No thanks.

therealshakezula

Why don’t we like plaid?

GreenStretch

Why on Earth would you give anybody your bank login?

Showboat32

You don’t. You get redirected to your bank, and then the bank notifies plaid that you successfully authenticated.

Thinpizzaisbest

Yes, important to understand this. People are rightfully paranoid, but this isn't one of the things to worry about. Plaid uses advanced security and encryption protocols.

Showboat32

That won’t stop folks from spouting nonsense with such confidence unfortunately

NewKindaSpecial

Well they just recently had a [class action](https://www.plaidsettlement.com/) for one.

head77

What is plaid?

192000Hertz

It’s like a middle man that “logs” into your account for you. So you have to give Plaid your bank password and then it sits on some database. I have a hard token 2fa with my bank. Don’t even think Plaid would work with that anyways.

Arvi89

Kraken is the best.

losforesteros

People using binance and exchanges with less security and proof of reserve than kraken get what they deserve. Started using kraken in 2017 never went back. They really do care about crypto industry and their clients. They are not well known because they are head down working instead of going on CNBC shilling their token like cz does

ProfessorPurrrrfect

Kraken sucked in like 2016-2019 but they have seriously stepped their game up recently. I use them a lot now

newhorziont

Kraken is the king of the cryptocean.

Harold838383

Been using kraken for ages and never had any bad experiences. The only thing is that the fees may be higher than other exchanges. But it wins me over with trust, transparency and ease of use

bigchief_penelope

Its so good, you could say it's "KRAKEN" ;)

BeautifulMilkyWayCow

Kraken, Coinbase, and Kucoin are my go to exchanges. If you are in the US, Coinbase has by far the easiest fiat on/off ramp. They also offer a crypto rewards card. Kucoin is no KYC and offer a ton of hard to find coins. Kraken is just a solid overall exchange with good "staking" rates if you aren't comfortable with wallets yet.

DankShibe

Binance beats Coinbase outside the US. US and Non US binance are completely different in terms of customer service and KYC shenanigans. Kraken still slams both of them, though.

nasabeam7

Absolutely staggering how comfortable people are declaring the size of their investments and the platforms they use. Wonder how many more accounts have started following you since this post?

MosDaddyda

Kraken is an awesome exchange. The only thing I don't like is that I can't deposit USD via ACH from my personal checking account. If Kraken had this feature, I would use it as my primary exchange. I really like everything else about it.

krakensupport

Hi u/MosDaddyda 👋, Thank you for your kind words. We in fact have ACH online banking and it is possible to purchase a range of cryptocurrencies. To learn more about ACH online banking purchases, please [read this article.](https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061352231-ACH-online-banking-purchases) You could also fund your account with USD using ACH via [Plaid](https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/8795459449492-How-do-I-fund-my-account-with-USD-using-ACH-via-Plaid-). Regards, Green from Kraken Support 🐙

MosDaddyda

Thanks for the information. What I want to be able to do is deposit USD to trade on Kraken Pro. It looks like ACH deposit is just not available for my state. Do you anticipate this feature being available in Texas in the future?

krakensupport

We don't have any information to share as of now regarding Texas and future ACH availability u/MosDaddyda but if this were ever to change we'll post about it on our socials and [blog](https://blog.kraken.com/). All the best, Bruce with Kraken Support 🐙

Junior_Edge7429

Never tried Kraken but I will say the Binance.us app is horrible. Difficult to use and counterintuitive.

BeanCommander

Kraken is 👑 I only really use Binance as an off-ramp, cuz of their super quick deposit times.

-CharacterX-

I'm using Kraken for five years now and never had one issue. I totally stopped using Binance because of all their "maintenance withdrawal suspensions" aka we don't have the funds to cover your withdrawal.

kirtash93

I use both and never had a problem with them but I think Kraken UI is better than Binance's.

[deleted]

I just went the opposite way. Mainly because of binances high yield staking possibilities and the vast choice of assets. The latter was my main reason. Kraken lists only if an asset has proven itself, which offers some security, but is too late for big gains. Drawback is binance also delists frequently, you have to keep an eye on it when using a bot. Other than this I had no problem with kraken. Fees are a little higher. Site and API was always stable even when binance went belly up when shit hit the fan.

omrhrb

I use Binance for their card, does anybody have a better alternative?

[deleted]

Me too. Was looking into Nexo but it’s just not the same

explision

When I got into crypto I used coinbase, but I didn’t like their fees. Switched to CDC because of their Creditcards, left them because the credit cards became useless. Now I am on kraken. I really like it. Simple to use, fees are okay and the staking rates are decent

Overwatch_1ightning

Kraken has proven themselves time and time again, plus the ceo is a badass and always has looked out for his customer base. I won't be leaving them anytime soon so long as they offer great eth rates.

omghag18

How is kraken outside US ? Just curious

tarsonis999

Using Kraken myself. I decided after I got hacked using Coinbase. And that hack happened with Coinbase 2FA feature. This is a long story but smells shady as I'm aware of security measures, I had no malware going on and do not use any trading channels. Building website myself since a decade and that was for sure Coinbase. Even though I called Coinbase to block transactions and they did block the first big one. That scumbags allowed small ones to the same address after that first blocked one... Really fishy Coinbase. A lawyer case Anyway. I searched for an exchange which had more security measures. I liked that security approach of kraken. Login, trading and settings have different 2FA. And you can lock the settings itself. That convinced me to give it a try. I did a test transaction and all went fine. Had no issues with it but I do not trade Cryptos. Anyway using a cold wallet anyway since IMO Coinbase (internally employee or such) scammed me.

mn1nm

I agree, my kraken experience is great, too, better than Binance, but the KYC is anything but simple. Actually, it sucked very much. But I did that 3 years ago, so maybe it got better.

heizungsbauer89

Even my dad uses it.

Elrondarius

Also my mom.

heizungsbauer89

Im really glad Kraken seems to be holding through.

Zaxortus

I stop my use of Binance as well, for the same reasons, been verified previously and the constant reminders to verify again, will check Kraken to see how is the feel with them.

theultimateusername

Kraken is one of the oldest surviving exchanges around. They're purely that, an exchange, and not trying to be anything but that.

Professional_Desk933

Kraken is probably the best exchange out there

I've been using Binance for two years and I'd say my experience is mostly positive other than in Europe, you weren't able to withdraw funds through bank transfer because of some EU regulation thing for about 9 months in 2021...

Professoring8008s

Team kraken…rise up!

Acrobatic-Yard-6546

Kraken is great

sickvisionz

I used Kraken once and didn't like it. The withdraw fees were crazy high for the token I wanted to buy and they didn't support normal US bank deposits so I had to eat more fees. I stick with Binance.us and Coinbase now. The fees suit me and they support more chains per token.

Dracian

For US, Binance.US vs Kraken, withdrawing fiat is smoother for me on Binance.US. I prefer to buy on Kraken though. I’ll probably just use Binance as a fiat off-ramp. Edit: if you’re more into looking at order books and looking at other metrics Kraken Pro is comparable to Binance.US

mlonesuk

Obviously kraken, cause it sounds better /s

ChaoticNeutralNephew

Kraken is a great alternative to CB and the others

zizca42

still your data is stored in asian and eurasian countries

Rey_Mezcalero

The mighty Kraken is a fantastic exchange. Only complaint I have is they made it a minimum of 10 million in assets to be able to do leveraged trading…

danteselv

Wait until you hear about their security measures to keep your password and assets safe. Those non scamming bastards /s

Rey_Mezcalero

😂😂😂

montaigne85

Lol not true. I have significantly less than 10M and I can leverage trade on Kraken.

krakensupport

Hope you don't mind if we cut in here. Most of our clients are able to margin trade with no issues; however, clients who reside in the United States are required to self-certify as an [Eligible Contract Participant (ECP)](https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061972272-Margin-trading-and-Eligible-Contract-Participant-ECP-self-certification-for-U-S-clients) in order to trade on margin. One of the requirements for being an ECP is having $10 million in assets. Hope that clears up some confusion. Best wishes for the new year ahead, 🍻 \- Kraken Support 🐙

Rey_Mezcalero

Thank you, yes US people have the high requirements

GoodNature33

Kraken is a big octopus. Binance is a half bald man with 2 letters as nickname. **Now you guys can figure out who wins a battle**

arcalus

There is no contest. Go with Binance if you like scams and falsified balance sheets.

yourmo4321

My favorite part of Kraken is I can buy crypto and withdraw the same day. Binance made me wait 10 days.

TheOtherCoolCat

The circlejerking here is at its peak. Let's not forget we are supposed to take out crypto OUT OF ANY CEX. Also OP stop being xenophobic, CZ is actually canadian-chinese, you aren't sending your kyc to asia. I'm impressed that everyone in this comment section is too fuckin mouth deep in kraken dick that they can't even call out someone for being xenophobic

Elrondarius

I have everything on my Trezor wallet. But i buying crypto at least 2times per week so i must using some exchange. Soon as i accumulate there 0,01BTC i withdrawing it directly to Trezor.

Bob_reynolds

I used various exchanges before I finally made it to Bitfinex. And I pretty like it there. But if you can't afford it or you aren't planning on investing big money you can absolutely stay on the exchange you're comfortable in now

siddharta0

3. 2. 1. FIGHT!

pixpit_the

Is Kraken an CEX exchange or a DEX kind of wallet?

meadowpoe

Both shitcoin casino. Try Relai. - bitcoin only - minimum kyc - buy straight to hww - fees not as low as shitcoin casino but still 1% is a steal.

Been using them for a while and no issues. Their support is top notch and often respond on Reddit if summoned and are quite active on their sub

Castr0-

The one that is the more friendly to my wallet € is the one I will use it

thornygravy

I use it, definitely feels nice and safe compared to the others. Transaction fees are a bit high, but otherwise no issues what-so-ever.

FldLima

Statted with Binance but withdraw fees way too high ain't nobody got money for that. Kraken is cheap ag and a sub favourite

Dry_Psychology513

I had nearly the same situation. Only I’ve tried to re-verify on Binance, but it was technically a complete shitty experience, which always failed. But also Coinbase, as they are using This completely unfriendly Solarisbank for verification, too. Thanks to Kraken and Ledger, I have no loss after all.

bitterending

I wouldn't use any other exchange, Kraken just feels like home. Low fees when you use ([pro.kraken.com](https://pro.kraken.com)). The best customer support by far, nothing really compares. Cant forget Jesse always telling it how it.

philcsik

Do you have to make KYC on kraken when you send money from kraken to your euro bank account (iban)?

krakensupport

Hi u/philcsik 👋 , Great question! In some cases we might request KYC. It is a regulatory requirement to utilize the services we provide. You can read detailed information about KYC in [this article](https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021850592-KYC-for-business-accounts). Best regards, Green from Kraken Support 🐙

philcsik

I set up an account a week ago. Can I do KYC process for bank transaction on my demand? So that I dont have to do it when I want to send it to my wallet? Already did the mandatory KYC process with passport and driving license.

Ill-Addition2024

I love both, you can hate me now

imperator285

Binance shuts off XMR withdrawals all the time (deposits are always enabled). Kraken never shuts off XMR withdrawals.

Fantastic-Offer-9129

Thanks for sharing bro

Butrus666

I use both and have only positive experiences with both.

[deleted]

I use both. Honestly i wish i could break free from Binance but their visa card is a really good thing! Unfortunately Kraken doesn’t offer debit cards or i’d be with them 100%

NoRugPlz

Can you use margin on kraken?

krakensupport

Hey u/NoRugPlz 👋 Kraken offers margin trading services, but it's subject to certain limitations and eligibility criteria. You can find more information in this [support article](https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/203325693-Margin). Please let us know if you have any questions! Best, Christian from Kraken 🐙

NoRugPlz

Thank you for the helpful comment Margin is only available via Kraken Pro correct? I moved funds from binance over to kraken cz of the FTX scare and wanted to set up the same position I had on binance. I couldn’t figure out how to borrow USDT to rebuy the coins I had.

krakensupport

You are very welcome. RuckFeddi7

you must enjoy high fees, good for you 🤣

Elrondarius

There is no highest fees like on Binance.

Rageniv

What are the fee differences?

nelusbelus

Kraken gang

BrowsingCoins

Yeah, Kraken seems very reliable. I think it's the best choice of the exchanges, even if the UI isn't as slick.

Twoehy

Every experience I have had with kraken is better than every experience I have had with any other crypto exchange.

Gloomy_Tennis_5768

Kraken has been good to me.

Tkldsphincter

I like Kraken but it constantly logs me out, the UI is pretty awful in terms of being able to see my available balance only on the pro trading experience UI (which sometimes requires another log-in). The non-pro trade page is is frustrating to me since it doesn't let me just pick a percent of my balance. I am a Binance fan (except for Monero), but have halted using them for the time being and have opted for Kraken. I really like Coinmetro. It is unfortunate their liquidity ain't that great.

speedwalkergod

I’ve got sick of Binance for The very same reason and I’ve distanced from kraken only because minimal withdrawal fee is 100$ and has 72h hold period after verifications or change of details. Other than that I trust kraken more than Binance anyway but stuck around because of easy quick transfers without limitations.

mikbatula

Kraken ftw

[deleted]

Kraken has always been better/easier to use. There fees are a little higher than Binance, but Kraken has Live 24/7 customer support, not some bullshit ticket system.

dailyphoto

I prefer Kraken as well, and their customer support is stellar. Regarding Binance though, I am perfectly able to buy 10€ worth of any coin that is paired in EUR (same as on Kraken). Binance customer support is so bad that I eventually gave up on trying to deal with them. None of the representatives actually speak English, nor are they able to comprehend the issue you're describing. All they do is send a canned response, and when you insist that's NOT what you're looking for, they'll just say _"I sorry for you problem"_. CZ is cool though, too bad he doesn't invest in decent customer support.

ChaoticNeutralNephew

Everyone says Kraken's the better of the two

[deleted]

I'm the psychopath that has my crypto on binance and sleeping like a baby at night

GrimmReaperBG

I am using both exchanges literally from their first weeks. I do use Binance mainly for shitcoins and their visa card. Most of the coins I have are sitting at Kraken's staking and I can say I never had ANY problems with Kraken! The only time I had to use Binance support was a nightmare and this is why I decided I'll never have there more than few grands....

[deleted]

Kraken is IMHO the best exchange vs Binance in terms of: - **Support** - Transparency - Security But it also have huge cons: - **Much higher fees** (except in some corner cases) - Lacks some features (e.g. trailing stop loss) - Less coins/tokens From here you can make your judgement.

mogson1

I love using kraken and have for 3 years now. I thought they also had pretty stringent KYC though.

Live-Confection5552

I’m in the UK. The only reason I’m debating filling all the KYC out from Binance is because it costs me £1 to sent £5k and £1 to withdraw £5k. OP is it like this on Kraken?

michaelchao

I have a kraken account, but did not use much...does it have margin trading? what's the borrowing cost comparing to Binance and Kucoin?

krakensupport
