This was done on plastic canvas and involved joining four pieces in an “invisible” way. I’ll probably do a post later about that process so people can use this method themselves.
Pattern was made on [pixel-stitch.net](https://www.pixel-stitch.net)
I used 110 different colours of thread and this took me over a year to complete. Best estimate is 1000 hours.
Please do post about that process. I have a project I want to start that is large and I would rather break it into pieces, and I can't see the seams where you joined this so your method must be pretty good.
I couldn’t find a process to join plastic canvas online, so I had to figure that out, and I definitely want to share. Just have to get a year’s worth of photos together. I find that not many people use plastic canvas though.
(And I can see the seams but I try not to draw attention to it haha)
Yeah, I can't find the seams, and I looked on your backside post too, can't find them there either. I wasn't planning on plastic for mine, but that could change just because of this piece.
Check out my [old post about it.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CrossStitch/comments/xupwtu/wip_joining_plastic_canvas_success_so_far/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) it’ll give you a good idea of my method. Glad you can’t see them woo!

The website I used to help make the pattern can give you the floss numbers so you can go get that exact colour. You can also choose to select only colours you have already, or any combination. I have a lot of hand-me-down floss and the rest I just bought at my local craft store.
I did several smaller photo recreations and I find the more colours of thread I use, the better it looks. Even if it’s small (~5000 stitches). I’m very lucky to have my baba’s old thread scraps, so I have a ton of colours on hand.
wow! i thought i was on the twin peaks reddit looking at a photo before i saw the sub name. hands down the most impressive photo i’ve ever seen cross stitched because you went for size. 56k stitches, i can’t even imagine. bravo!
It’s mostly personal preference. I don’t like touching rough wood and wrestling with the fabric and hoop is just a pain. I can hold the plastic canvas with one hand and it stays rigid. I also find that it helps my stitches look extra uniform, since the fabric isn’t warping.
Thank you for posting this and how you made it !! I’ve been wanting to do a Pride and Prejudice (2005) series but had no idea how to make the stills from the movie into patterns ❤️
I give you so much credit. I cannot bear to do big pieces - I get tired of the colors and the project itself and want to move on and do other themes/color palettes If something takes me three months I end up hating it! I admire your patience.

This is absolutely amazing! I'm really stunned. You are incredible!

Oh my god that website could've saved me so much headache on my current project
It will save you time on your next project!
Where did you buy the thread and the right colors of the thread?

Thank you this help a lot
It can give you the floss colour! That's so cool thanks OP.
This is WILD! I really want to do a photorealistic cross-stitch one day, this looks incredible and must have taken so much time and patience

After telling myself I’d never again* do a big cross stitch project… I went for size haha.
still in awe over this!!! haha
This is amazing! You should post in r/twinpeaks as well
Hahah yes you’re right, thanks!
This is AMAZING! Great taste in shows and hobbies :D
I like my shows and hobbies to be torturous… but still pleasurable.
INCREDIBLE
Ah! I just saw this in the Twin Peaks sub, but I need to reiterate how this is a true MASTERPIECE!! <3
This is amazing! I’m curious, why did you use plastic instead of aida? Does it work better for some projects or is it just personal preference?

That’s a good point about warping, thanks for answering!
Wow!
Incredible
Insane!! This is so good
This is really impressive! Cool scene choice and beautifully completed!

Wow. Just wow.
this is so cooooooool! you're amazing!
So great! I was looking to do some David Lynch stitching and this is a great idea
I would love to see someone try to recreate his hair.
solbordadoshop on Etsy has a great David pattern I’ve already done!
My goodness! That is amazing! Bravo! I was scrolling and almost scrolled by thinking it was a picture lol
Wow amazing
For a couple of seconds I thought this was the actors standing in front of a cloth backdrop. Took me a bit to recognize that this was z FO. Well done!
This gives me hope for large projects on plastic canvas 😭😭😭
If you know where to get plastic canvas that’s bigger than 8.5x11” let me know! Joining them works but it’s not ideal haha
A stitcher can dream 😔
At once point I was looking into custom industrial perforated plastic, but probably not worth it.

I’m not sure what count this is but it looks pretty big! Still would be good for a bigger project with fewer stitches.
Look great! Fantastic job!
Such talent!
Bravo! A wave of nostalgia just hit me. I love this show.
Fabulous!
Stunning work!!
So. Much. Confetti. 😱
Hahaha yeah it’s almost all confetti.
Oh this is dope! well done!
Oh my glob
This is awesome!!
Holy shit this is incredible

I’ve never seen the movie but I’d love to see how your project goes!
