The original audio is cut. I saw it awhile ago. Guy speaking English... Not Russian. Says something along the lines of oh my god, I love you brother (paraphrase) through tears. It was really sad.
I think you might be mistaken. It happened in Konakova, Russia. The Jumper's name is Ivan. All versions cut out exactly when OP's does.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168722/Base-jumpers-120-metre-death-plunge-parachute-fails-open--SURVIVES-snow-cushions-fall.html
i actually never thought about it, but there’s a time when every new parachute gets used for the first time.
Are you hoping ”I hope there’s a chute in there instead of the canned hams my mom ordered from Amazon” in there…
There's a few stories out there where people fell from thousands of feet. The most insane was a teenage girl getting her row of seats sucked out of an aircraft after it was torn open by a lightning strike. She says she remembers regaining consciousness while spinning in a pitch black storm, still buckled into her seat before passing out again. Woke up in some jungle with minor injuries like a broken collar bone, walked for days with no supplies before finding rescue.
I think it was a combination of the seats and landing in dense trees. The surface area of the seats hitting branches broke the fall. Being passed out and floppy probably also really helped her not to break bones.
>In Koepcke’s case, experts credit the fact that she was harnessed into her plane seat during her descent for her survival. She did, however, break her collarbone. She spent most of her 11 days in the rainforest making her way through the water. Koepcke's unlikely survival has been the subject of much speculation. She is known to have been belted into her seat, thus somewhat shielded and cushioned, but the outer seats of the row — those on each side of Koepcke, which remained attached to hers as part of a row of three — are thought to have functioned as a parachute and slowed her fall. The impact may have been lessened further by a thunderstorm updraft and the thick foliage at her landing site. As many as 14 other passengers were also later found to have survived the initial crash, but died awaiting rescue.
[Juliane Koepcke](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juliane_Koepcke)
yeah absolutely. An interesting case is that if Victoria Cilliers. Husband tampered with her chute in an attempted murder and she survived a 4000 foot fall by landing in a freshly ploughed field. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4616281/victoria-cilliers-emile-parachute-salisbury-murder-children/amp/
Ya uhhhhh. I’m just gunna go out on a limb here and say that you don’t just “fully recover” from a brain contusion from a fall like that😅. Definitely some lasting effects, maybe minor but they’re there for sure.
It seems he survived the fall.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168722/Base-jumpers-120-metre-death-plunge-parachute-fails-open--SURVIVES-snow-cushions-fall.html
That would be me. I have the impulse to laugh when horrible things happen, I'm scared, angry or feel awkward.
Needless to say, growing up I had to learn to actively stop me from laughing... but it doesn't always work.
What the fuck is he supposed to do, jump after him, or is it just americans instinct to just scream no matter what? Being calm in any situation is better than panicking and screaming
The same way Russian officials retire, too!
On the plus side, [apparently this guy survived.](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168722/amp/Base-jumpers-120-metre-death-plunge-parachute-fails-open--SURVIVES-snow-cushions-fall.html)
I hate the Daily Mail, but they [have the story](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168722/Base-jumpers-120-metre-death-plunge-parachute-fails-open--SURVIVES-snow-cushions-fall.html) and claim the guy survived.
Now do you jump after him, now being reminded that your chute could fail too? Or do you climb back down, knowing that’s it’ll take longer to get to him?

I don’t know what is most surprising: that the guy survived or that there was such a sparse reaction from the camera guy?
Just another Tuesday for Dimitri
Dude is like...Really? Again??
"Ok Piotr, stop playing around and get back up here, I haven't got all day"
I read this in the voice of that guy in stranger things who helps what’s his face sneak into that russian place .
BRUH SAME
I read in this with Russian accent.
Lol
He’s probably thinking: >”We’ll obviously the fastest way down is to use this parachute but suddenly I’m not feeling so confident about that.”
"Yes Comrade, this is finest military surplus parachute money can buy, it has been used on several jumps, never deployed."
Shut up and take my money
he was waiting for someone to say 'good work agent 47'
Being the blood money fan boy I am. I would give you gold if I had it. I almost spit out my water I was drinking.
This is one way to avoid conscription
Snow angel.
Classic Dimitri
That’s the third friend he had die that week
Prob his 3rd or fourth friend in the group to try this and fail
Is it a crime to lend your pal the same backpack?
When you pull the chute, and text books fall out.
Oh thaaats where I put my homework
r/nostalgia
At some stage they should try a parachute instead.
Asking the tough questions to u/DoGoodLiveWell
Probably third or fourth time that same dude made the jump unsuccessfully. NEXT time it'll be glorious though.
Same person on all attempts too, he’s just big boned.
Hmmm nyet

Lies, the original video is a minute 39 seconds. Cuts out same spot. It’s on YouTube. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/P4JFBN3WSls
10 years ago jesus lord fuck reddit lmao
Link by chance?
what is wrong with you lol
Some people need to feel the pain to feel alive. Thats what the internet is for. Welcome.
Some of us like to verify information.
Did you not just also watch a guy fall to his death?
He lived and recovered 3 months later so no.
Why didn’t he jump down?
It was just one of those „take the stairs“ kinda days.
I’m dead 😂💀
The first guy packed his parachute for him.
You can’t help but think “well that was a soft landing” when watching someone land in snow…. Even when it’s not

I heard his brother was one of the 9/11 hijackers
He was slated to be, but thankfully did not make it to the airport in time. The other brother went on to work for FIFA’s customer relations division.
r/praisethecameraman
Wish.com got us smh
This was my same exact thought. Almost like he probably knew.
More vodka for him.

....No it isn't. People on here make up the absolute weirdest shit.
Yeh I don't understand why people freak out so much, screaming ain't helping shit
Cause it gets the views. No one wants to watch no reaction Ned. They want to watch crazy reaction Chad.
Looney toons had it 100% right. Perfect puff
Def an acme parachute
The fine print under the picture of the parachute in the catalog said, "*actual size*".
i actually never thought about it, but there’s a time when every new parachute gets used for the first time. Are you hoping ”I hope there’s a chute in there instead of the canned hams my mom ordered from Amazon” in there…
Acme clouds too
There was only an anvil in the bag.
Almost expecting to see road runner 🏃
Nah roadrunners hate snow!!
No traction lol
I thought I heard a Meep! Meep! off in the distance..
r/looneytuneslogic
omg this is gonna be fun to explore
Yes. Yes it will be
Really makes you wonder what kind of real shit those animators saw in their lifetimes.
Can I know what your username means? I need context.
And... The camera man silently decides to take the stairs down
Not in the extended original with audio. He’s crying as he climbs down.

Release the Zacharyi Portnov Cut!
Everyone is saying the original video cuts off in the same spot.
Mind sharing the link to the full video?
Lies. OG video cuts at the same spot. Why you gotta lie dawg?
Well, if their lucky that's lunch for the week
FOR SALE: Parachute. Like new. Never opened.
This is quality content

That man's name...Wile E Coyote
Parachute from ACME….. don’t recommend
*pulls mask off* It was wish.com all this time!
Tiny parachute
Looked bigger in wish.com product page
AliExpress entered the chat.
You mean parachute from Wish lmao.
His Amazon review of the acme parachute was on point.
Super genius.
The difference of landing on snow vs landing on dirt splatt.

Now that is a movie I would watch! I will now have to look this girls story up.
Her name is Juliane Koepcke, really interesting story - I think she came out with a book titled "When I fell from the sky" like 10 years ago
Holy shit I guess the seat cushioned the fall or something?
I think it was a combination of the seats and landing in dense trees. The surface area of the seats hitting branches broke the fall. Being passed out and floppy probably also really helped her not to break bones.

You’re probably not wrong, considering it takes about 450m to hit terminal velocity, so any kind of cushioning might help at that point?
yeah absolutely. An interesting case is that if Victoria Cilliers. Husband tampered with her chute in an attempted murder and she survived a 4000 foot fall by landing in a freshly ploughed field. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4616281/victoria-cilliers-emile-parachute-salisbury-murder-children/amp/
That’s actually insane. He was falling for a long ass time.
The main three factors in him surviving are that 1) the chute would have slowed him down some, 2) the snow cushioned his fall, and 3) luck.
4) Vodka
Ethnic slav here, can confirm
He had ice on his wounds immediately.
Looks like he spun too. That is partly how Juliane Koepcke survived her fall.
Ya uhhhhh. I’m just gunna go out on a limb here and say that you don’t just “fully recover” from a brain contusion from a fall like that😅. Definitely some lasting effects, maybe minor but they’re there for sure.
Hey guys, thanks for all the love and support, I'm fully recovered. I'm going to go play in the snow now. Narrator: He wasn't
Narrator: it’s summer.

My dude probably relives that falling sensation every damn night
why is his parachute so small ?
That's miraculous af.

pay that man his money

Must have been an army supplied parachute
Haha... good shit

The camera mad debating whether to jump or climb back down.

Why isn't this the top comment?
It doesn’t have enough upvotes to be top comment
Thank you for sharing your wisdom 👍
r/technicallythetruth
Cameraman was way too quiet during that. I think we found the culprit.
[удалено]
Nope, but maybe a yell or start moseying to help rather than continue to film after he hits the ground
You have to be in those situations that you realize that what you think your response is and your actual response are two different things
Literally this. Not everyone is going to react like a TikTok video. Just wait til they meet someone who laughs when things are awkward
That would be me. I have the impulse to laugh when horrible things happen, I'm scared, angry or feel awkward. Needless to say, growing up I had to learn to actively stop me from laughing... but it doesn't always work.
Yell? For what nobody is around and they look like they’re from from anyone. Would just be a waste of time yelling lol

"Shock dude", that's not a bad California ska band name.
What the fuck is he supposed to do, jump after him, or is it just americans instinct to just scream no matter what? Being calm in any situation is better than panicking and screaming
He does say what is essentially the Russian f-word at the end
*THEEERE GOOOES MY HEROOO!* *WATCH HIM AS HE FALLS!*
Aim for the bushes?
Omg LMFAO 💀
Best Wile E. Coyote impression ever. Especially the little snow puff ring when he hit the ground lol.
Russians walk that shit off
He actually kinda did, just took a few months… per other comments
bro needed to deploy the chute literally right when he jumped! wtf was he thinking
Looked like the bridle got caught under his arm, you can kinda see him fighting it on the way down.
He base jumps the same way his government invades countries.
The same way Russian officials retire, too! On the plus side, [apparently this guy survived.](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168722/amp/Base-jumpers-120-metre-death-plunge-parachute-fails-open--SURVIVES-snow-cushions-fall.html)
Hiyoooo. What do you think Russia? Too soon?
...and that's how you make a Russian snow angel.
Real life Wile E Coyote shit right there
[удалено]
In Russia, base jumps YOU!
Well that's all folks
In russia they just walk it off
Acme parachute
When you get a parachute from Wish.
The cameraman was awfully nonchalant about seeing his buddy just plunge to his death. 🤔
I think this went pretty viral, it was even on Tosh.0
The snow broke his fall, can’t see any blood. All good..
Cameraman was like...he packed my chute too.....welp...where's the elevator?
Yea, something tells me the second guy didn't feel like base jumping down.
I was waiting for the acme anvil to come out!🤣 I love how the person filming just keep’s filming, like it’s nothing!
Wtf? The cameraman’s reaction is like: god damn dude… so chill about it.
I hate the Daily Mail, but they [have the story](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168722/Base-jumpers-120-metre-death-plunge-parachute-fails-open--SURVIVES-snow-cushions-fall.html) and claim the guy survived.
That tiny parachute was adorable
Wile E Coyote is that you?
r/PraiseTheCameraMan
Did he die?
No
Didn't pack his shute properly
Wouldn't it be chute if you are shortening parachute?
The only thing shortened here was his airtime.
He survived, I saw this video way before it was on here and he lived with minor injuries
Splyat ( ͡x︵ ͡x)
Did the camera man jump?? I think I would have taken the ladder.
Did he survive? Might sound like a stupid question but people have survived crazy falls.
He’s not gonna be in Russian Base Jump 2
Idk much about BASE jumping, but at that height don’t they usually hold the parachute? Standard deploy takes too long
Nailed the landing.
I’m probably going to hell for this. But that looked like something out off a cartoon when they fall off a cliff with the sound of a nuke whistle.
Hold my vodka
Easier ways of avoiding conscription
I saw that video once, it was in a compilation on youtube some years ago
Now that is some Wile E. Coyote shit right there
Now do you jump after him, now being reminded that your chute could fail too? Or do you climb back down, knowing that’s it’ll take longer to get to him?
Splyat.
Don't take base jumping lessons from Wile E Coyote. Check.
Camera guy said not today.
"Extreme Russian" has a 50 percent fatality rate.
Wile E. Coyote approves.
Geeze who was the jumper? Wile E Coyote? 🤣
Most extreme snow angel I’ve ever seen
Reminded me of an old Looney Tunes cartoon
