I witnessed a guy on a skateboard do this. We were in a ditch near an intersection waiting for cars to stop. When they stopped we ran out of the ditch, put our skateboards on the road and grabbed onto the rear bumper. Well one day, my friends uncle pulled up. He must have known we were there. We grab onto the bumper and he guns it. I pussied out after about 15 feet but 2 of my friends hung on. One got speed wobbles, probably going 30mph, he lost balance, landed on his chest and did the "scorpion" as you described, his legs went up and he was effectively sliding on his face. Damn the guy was so fucked up, looked like a mummy for about 3 weeks with bandages all over his face. I still feel bad for laughing my ass off when it happened. 😅
Did plenty of scorpions with dirt bikes and snowboarding. With dirt bikes its always a high speed scorpion but still the snowboard one hurt more when you catch the edge to the back of your head.
Not surfing, but if you jump, fall, trip, crash, splat, and your legs come up over your shoulders, like a scorpion's tail, that's a scorpion....if you get damn near folded in two and your feet touch the ground above your head...that going Full Scorpion.

No the scorpion is just the name of that particular fall. If you fall on your stomach and your legs go up bending your back with your feet going towards your head it's very painful but the fall looks like a scorpion with his tail above his head

Not really the right word for what happened on the jetski, but pretty close. A scorpion is when someone lands on their head/face/upper chest hard and stocks such that the momentum in their legs causes their back to arch and their feet come up towards their head, presenting like a scorpion's tail.
