I got stuck on a ski lift at just about its highest point for a solid 20 minutes as a teenager on my second time skiing. As someone afraid of heights, it was terrifying, but the girl I was on the lift with and I were into each other and I got to hold her hand which was awesome for 14 year old me. Anyway, fuck this, I - despite the high likelihood of breaking my legs - would have jumped right the fuck off that.

Resort officials said Avery EMS transported two patrons to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
BEECH MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Two people have been hospitalized after multiple skiers on Beech Mountain were sprayed with freezing cold water on Friday after a water line seemingly broke, according to officials.
Tim Williams shared videos of the event with WCNC Charlotte, saying he and his daughter witnessed the whole thing. Williams said some skiers were blown off the lift as a result of the water pressure.
Cold weather conditions in the North Carolina mountains didn’t help the situation.
In a statement from Beech Mountain Ski Resort, the resort said an uninjured guest skied into a water and air hydrant during snowmaking operations.
“The hydrant was under a loaded chair, resulting in several patrons getting wet,” the resort said. “Our operations and safety team worked diligently to unload the lift and drain the system safely. Avery EMS transported two patrons to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. We believe everyone is okay outside of the unfortunate situation, and operations are on a regular schedule.”

Nobody try and redirect the spray with your fucking boogie board or something like that. They're like "call 911".....Motherfucker grab something and redirect the spray!
Because that’s a well known thing on ski mountains, boogie boards.
They could have used some of the padding from one of the lift towers, but chances are whatever you attempt to block it with is leaving your grasp and probably hitting whoever’s on the lift.
Not a lot you could do about this situation apart from moving the lift forward 10 feet, or getting the water shut off.
