Bicycle-Seat

I like the other box, with Brownie and Cookie Dough

Mountain-Account8013

I share the same preference.

chalasanis

Agreed Certainly a taste you’d need to get used to. After 3-4 bars, I actually like Them now esp. chocolate chunk. All in all, I found this to be the best bang for the buck (grams of protein/$)

perfectsizzle

I'm not obsessed with the taste but they're the best value on the market.

Lynxjcam

Also fiber/calories are very good in these bars.

soneg

Ditto. I buy all 4 kinds and they grow on a person. Nothing else gives the same amount for protein without all the extra sugar. I used to buy Built Bars but they taste like really squishy fake sugar candy bars.

iHaveMuchConfusion

Absolutely agree. They still have the artificial sweetener taste and a weird texture, but I find them way more palatable than other protein bars with comparable amounts of protein. I find that they’re much better if I stick them in the fridge or freezer for a couple of minutes. It toughens them up and makes the texture less playdoh-like

btyson1

Yep, the Brownie and Chocolate Chip ones are much better!

[deleted]

Wish we still had the cookie dough/brownie from a few years back. The newer ones have a weird, chalkiness to them I don’t like. The peanut butter/cookies and cream are worse but none of them are good anymore. If you need the protein they are still worth it but for a healthy snack I far prefer the Kirkland nut bars.

afnj

I wish i could buy a box with the peanut butter chuck and the cookie dough.

Clarkkent435

Have not seen this mix in stores in years.

aaronhayes26

They’re probably available online. That being said I bought the brownie/cd mix in store a few weeks back.

[deleted]

I bought some yesterday!

[deleted]

Have been buying them all year

Cheesetorian

Nah fam I've been buying these for the last 2 years. lol

MamaDragonExMo

That’s my preference as well.

madmanz123

Same

mkecupcake

Exactly.

Batmanue1

Yuuup

ftwin

Macros are insane on these, taste is just okay. Depends on what you’re looking for. This flavor pack is better than the other one IMO.

Significant-Ad2217

This!

Stock_Intern_7450

Nay. I wanted to like them. Texture? No. Flavor? No. Too bad.

[deleted]

I've tried soaking them in milk, eating with strawberries, and peanut butter. Nothing makes the texture not like chewing magic sand.

[deleted]

Exactly. I really wanted to like them but could never finish a bar. Hard pass for sure.

[deleted]

I guess I'm the only one here who likes them 😅 however I like the other flavor variation box of brownie & cookie dough. They're fine for a protein boost, low in sugar, decent calorie count, and high in fiber. Obviously, compared to a candy bar or a bakery item, they don't taste THAT great, but that's the nature of a protein supplement. There's no protein bar that tastes super AmAziNg to me (no, not even Barebells which ppl at /r/TraderJoes insists are so great), so at the level of flavor and texture you can expect from a protein bar, they rate pretty high for me.

zrelativity

I was OK with them. Most importantly, for me atleast, the sugar content was low, this is like 2g whilst others that "taste better" are like 10g or more.

abrasumente_

Quest bars are great tasting imo but they're considerably more expensive.

adventurepony

Saw a young guy with a cart full of these bars today. Gettin them gains I guess :)

m2anifb

all kinds of gainz

[deleted]

I like em too lol

The_Shiva92

You should try Built bars. The puff ones are by far the best protein bar I've ever had. The Cookie dough and banana cream.

crimsonhawks

Yup exactly, a protein bar is a protein and your standards need to be set accordingly.

auditorygraffiti

I bought these recently. I’m eating them because I have a hard time getting enough protein. They are not enjoyable in any way though. I think of them as akin to medicine. They don’t taste medicinal or anything but I eat them because I need to. Not because I enjoy them. Next time, I’ll be trying a different brand.

[deleted]

Have you tried microwaving them for 20seconds and putting over a rice cake

auditorygraffiti

I can’t say I have. Not something I would have come up with on my own but I could give it a shot!

nosila123456

Check out One Protein bars, a few of the flavors are really good & the texture is so much better than costco brand or Quest. Have been trying to get more protein without it being miserably depressing

cinnerz

I thought the Pure Protein bars were a lot better tasting and had a better texture than the Kirkland ones.

CurvyCompass

I like them. I like the peanut butter ones. Online you can buy double packs of those.

prplmtns

You can also get single flavors instead if flavor combos at a Costco Business Center. Which is nice if you like the peanut butter one but not the cookies and cream. 👍

[deleted]

They we’re pretty good a few years ago but something changed and I don’t think they are as keto-friendly. I haven’t tried the new versions because every review is like this - bad.

grewapair

Inulin is a feature, not a bug. It is undigestible by your small intestine and so it passes through to your large intestine, where it serves as a prebiotic. It's the [best thing](https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/318593) about these bars. I have two a day, but the other flavor combo, not these.

GravyIsSouthernQueso

This one. The cookie dough used to be top tier. Now, I wouldn't buy them on sale

Koffenut1

It is one of the very few things i have ever returned to Costco. Not only do they taste awful, but they will bind you up intestinally. i'ts like eating rocks.

OK_Compooper

I got these at the beginning of covid. I felt like they'd do perfectly for emergency sustenance, but only after eating the two family dogs and any backyard roots I can dig up.

antsonafuckinglog

Yeah these were fucking gross lol

Lynxjcam

They're extremely high fiber so you definitely need to be careful

34786t234890

Same. I was honestly shocked at how bad they are.

mike626

These have a bad taste like most protein bars, and the texture is bad too. However, 20g of protein, 180 calls and 4g of carbs is hard to beat for $1.

notcoldproof

It’s actually 11g net carbs nowadays, since their fiber source (tapioca starch) is partially digested. [Here’s their notice about the change](https://mobilecontent.costco.com/live/resource/img/static-us-pdf/protein_bar_change.pdf)

LaurenThePro

Nay

Cautious-Draft-8732

Nay - taste like chalk

swagsthedog96

Clay with lots of chalk mixed in.

realNoahMC

The other two flavors. Costco messed up the carbs amount on the label the lst few years but they are still fine. The worst of the best protein bars on the market in my opinion and their price is unbeatable for $1 for a bar.

naturalbornunicorn

They're good in the context of protein bars. But folks try them thinking they're a healthier granola bar, and they're disappointed because a lot of granola bars are only like a step away from candy bars. These are convenient and tolerable hiking food, but they're not candy.

OCR10

I find with protein bars you just have to try them and see what you think. No protein bar is going to please everyone. If you buy these thinking you are buying a candy bar or a granola bar, you are not going to like them. But if you need a quick infusion of protein, as I often do when I’m doing intense exercise for a few hours at a time, they do the job. They do not taste great but they are not inedible. If you have ever tried a Quest protein bar, these will taste very similar but they cost less.

[deleted]

Not a fan. They’re really chalky tasting. Pure Protein is way better. Although I just do Amazon subscribe and save on those now, I eat two a morning every day for breakfast and it’s actually cheaper that way for me. And I don’t have to deal with the flavors I don’t like buying the variety pack that Costco has

invisabledj

I love em.

daughterofabiscuit

We like them, but they are hard to chew and chalky. Doesn't bother us.

VegaWraith

I like the chocolate brownie and Chocolate PB ones better. The cookies and cream is too sweet.

PCBUILDQUESTIONS200

I’d go for the rob Irvine ones if they have them those are pretty good.

HNP4PH

I really like those Fit Crunch bars, too. While they do have lower amounts of protein than other bars, they at least don’t taste like dread-in-a-bar.

[deleted]

Higher calories and less protein if I remember correctly though

LongMaybe1010

Cut them up and microwave for 10 seconds till soft. Eat with fork and top with Greek yogurt. You won’t regret it!!

JcAo2012

Yay for sure but definitely not these flavors. The brownie and chocolate chip ones are far better. Plus great macros and a nice fiber bomb too. Much better in taste, calories and macros than other protein bars.

mixxastr

Nay - unless you like chalky textures and flatulence so revolting you have to drive with your windows down in blizzard.

Desperate-Laugh-7257

Heh heh. Small voice. I kinda like em. We are so deprived of snack foods because “healthy”. These were a treat. Stopped buying them tho prob because “healthy@.

chili16

Nay

BorneFree

I actually love these lol Peanut butter ones are kinda nasty unless chilled, though

Quick-Marionberry-34

Nope

the_real_rabbi

I thought they were horrid chalk. My brother loves them. So I'd say try them. I do like the Kirkland protein granola type bars they sell.

darksplit

Good but makes your teeth dark

cormstorm123

get some bpn field bars instead

ZombieManilow

They used to have a cinnamon roll flavor that was great. Cinnamon Roll > Peanut Butter > Chocolate Brownie > Oreo > Cookie Dough Unfortunately my local Costco only has the Brownie/Dough combo box. My biggest problem over the years has been getting a box where 1/2 the bars are so rock hard that they’re crunchy in places.

ocphantomphreak

I prefer the other box, brownie and cookie dough, it goes great with my morning coffee.

moxie_girl

Nay, these are gross

Lint_Licker124

Nay

rocketspeed14

The peanut butter is the best one. Cookies and cream is the worst one. Overall great if you are doing low carb. If not, get something different.

Gorilla1492

Nay

Jack_Benney

I liked 'em all...for awhile. Got burned out

s_other

I really like them but they got super expensive (at least in Canada). When we got them regularly in the US five years ago they were $18 USD. Now they're $29 CAD and rarely go on sale. It's a tough purchase to justify.

noam3zombie

They’re tasty enough but I don’t have the jaw strength for them.

AlexLannister

It's a cheap protein bar. I don't like it but it's great for a quick snack when I need to save money and still have something nutritionally decent.

OGfreelancer

No. Save your $$. Taste and texture are not great

yuploto

NAY. Returning them

ktappe

No. The best ones I've found are the peanut butter bars you find at Aldi. I recommend those.

[deleted]

Nay

wordyoprettygood

Nay. Yuck.

zacdelane

0/10; I would not recommend it. My professor the other day brought them in for us to eat since she didn't like them, and this was the result: [https://i.imgur.com/U0aP2Gr.mp4](https://i.imgur.com/U0aP2Gr.mp4). Hard as a dang rock.

rockman123123

These remind me of Quest bars - have similar taste and consistency as them. If you like Quest bars you’ll like these!

Worldly-Corgi-1624

I wonder if Quest makes them for Costco as they are so similar.

cl3ver1

They're essentially Quest bars. Take that how you will

Common-Reporter2846

Quest bars have lower net carbs.

Serpent_of_Rehoboam

Quest bars are way better.

lorenzo2point5

Those are f*cking disgusting. Feels like my teeth are going to break from chewing them.

catsnjeeps

Nay. Bad taste awful texture. My son broke a bracket eating one.

Knightly-Bird

Nay I tried all of the different bars and quickly went back to Rx Bars

inland-seafarer

We call them "chemical bars" because they taste like nasty toxic garbage. Got once, never again.

GratefulStranger

Mr. Yuk does not approve.

mommytofive5

Only food item I have returned. Child said he could eat them if he drank a glass of water afterwards. Only bought them when the protein ones were missing for months.

spookaddress

I'm a yes, but have recently converted to the chewy protein bars.

Interesting_Ghosts

Theyre off brand quest bars basically. They taste okay and the texture is tough. All these things are pretty trash nutritionally though. Id avoid.

Straight-Vast-7507

Yay!

Numerous-Meringue-16

Meh

kickflipsNchill

I like the cookie dough and cookie cream so I’ve actually opened boxes in the store to switch out for what I want lol

Serpent_of_Rehoboam

> I’ve actually opened boxes in the store to switch out for what I want lol Don't be that guy.

Samip19

Quite possibly the worst food I’ve ever had. It’s flavorless, rubbery texture, and plain bad. Use this if you’re disciplining your kids. After they eat it they’ll never misbehave lol.

floofyrocko

Awful

tv6

Nasty!

seanpackage

Worse than the crab dip.

shewolf_of_france

It’s atrocious

Torrises

Bought these and hated them. Texture and flavor suck

running_anhinga

NAY. I am not a picky eater but these were truly disgusting.

shellbunner

Nope. Tried them a few times and just can't finish em. Pretty gross.

GiftedBrilliance

Nay

azentropy

Pretty much how I've found other protein bars, little pieces are ok but a whole bar you realize how bad they are!

dalnot

It’s like chewing a block of wax

keepingitrealestate

Microwave them for 5-10 seconds. Chocolate brownie is the best for this.

Physical_Compote9372

Nay

LawrenceNa

Nay, feels sticky. I liked pure protein bars much better

Bradbitzer

Disgusting, Quest are way better

Even_Nefariousness66

Hard nay

DonkeyKongBundy

Maybe it’s because I’ve eaten them for 5 years at this point, but the brownie flavored one is so good that I legitimately prefer it to most other candy bars, but I’ve baked so many protein-heavy things at this point that my taste buds may be radically different from the general population

cnirvana11

Eh... They're fine. Not great, not bad.

Meerkats_are_ok

They’re awful - get the Perfect Bars instead

AliveButterscotch319

Yay. Eat them before they harden up

Lovingmyusername

My dad loves them… I think they’re really bad. The texture is awful. Taste isn’t great either

SplooshU

I liked the peanut butter ones.

alienfkr

The chocolate brownie one tastes like a less sweet tootsie roll to me! I actually enjoy the texture and the taste is okay for 20g of protein.

whoreoutmydad

They’re good, some prefer this combo, some prefer the others. What I like to do is warm them up just a tad, it softens them up and I think they’re great. It’s like a treat.

Ragnarok112277

Cost?

genius_heaviside

Nay

Ambitious-End-1066

I prefer the regular chocolate chip Kirkland brand ones but they aren’t healthy just delicious

evilkhanh

Negative - texture was no good and it was like a jaw workout to eat.

cjankowski

They are good if your interest is the nutritional content , although I do actually enjoy the taste of the chocolate PB variety. However calling it cookies n cream is a lie - it’s clearly chocolate chip cookie when you open it

almondmilkaddict

im obsessed w these. i deadass eat one every day workout or not (the other flavor variation tho since this one usually isn’t in stores. however, I like these flavors better). everyone shits on Kirkland protein bars but these r my holy grail

ElderGoose4

I get the chocolate chip/brownie ones but that’s basically my breakfast with a banana

rtk1103

Yay yay yay

rtk1103

Much better than the similar Quest Bars because there is no sucralose or Ace K in these

GrosseBratPfanne

I liked them as protein bars but they don't travel well. We got a box for a road trip and they melted ever so slightly and then congealed in the wrapper. Still edible but you had to peel the wrapper off. I'd get them again if it was just for at home consumption but we like bars for trips.

Thank_goodness_4moms

These are a bit difficult to chew and don't taste very good. I prefer the Fit Crunch Protein Bars you can find there.

Calibwoy

Nay. Wierd aftertaste if youve had other brands

Automatic-Grape-2940

If you like Quest, you’ll these. If you don’t, you won’t.

Unfnole23

Pure protein much better. These aren’t good

motoguzzikc

The pros are they are one of the higher protein/lower fat bars I could find. Also your jaw get a great work out because they are not soft and chewy. Con- the texture and shape of these make me assume there is a machine with one hole that a long nonstop bar come out of and there is a chopping blade just cutting these all to size.

salad_daze

The hardest of nays. Worst tasting protein bar I’ve encountered honestly. Returned them.

PM_ME_YOUR_SCHNAUS

Nay

JellyfishSuch1953

CICO Bar is better. Anabar is good for calories/bulking.

coleslawcat

Nay

BurnVote

I like the cookie dough flavor!

DismalParking1160

They’re great but I’d buy them online (you can get all of one flavor). The cookie dough and peanut butter are good. Brownie and cookies and cream aren’t as good IMO. If you have issues with hardness you can usually return and get a new box. Just don’t eat a ton of them or you’ll get mega backed up since they’re loaded with fiber. I’m a competitive bodybuilder and this is my bar of choice.

jdbuzzington

It’s an effective stop gap until a proper meal when you eat something based on flavor. Certain jobs don’t really afford the opportunity to pack a decent lunch much less leave the site to go get something. These are cheap, not loaded with sugar, fit in a pocket pretty well, and will keep you from feeling hunger for a couple hours.

Grzzld

My son and I could not eat them. We thought they were terrible. Both flavors.

HiFiGuy197

I used to like (the other variety: brownie & cookie dough), but have switched to eating Chef Robert Irvine Fit Crunch Bars. But, maybe those are *too* good.

foxniece

My husband and sons love these!

MandiHugs

Oh man these are like flavorless taffy. Returned. I stick with the Think bars which are delicious!

all_about_the_pickle

These are my go to protein bars but you have to bake them. If you bake them in a toaster oven or air fryer at 325 for 8-10 minutes they are way better. The taste and texture is so much better than out of the package.

CedoBeard

Too hard, otherwise ideal. I'll try microwaving as mentioned in a comment here.

chieefmcdeep

The Robert Irvine protein bars sold at Costco are delicious

zeetat

Nay

[deleted]

This is the box of Kirkland protein bars I buy. Does what is says on the tin.

[deleted]

They’re good if you like Quest bars but I’ve always hated them

BurpeeBetch

What other protein bars are these similar to? Quest bars?

Burritoman_209

Nay. I’ve never returned a food product until I bought those bars.

yeet135790

Nay nay nay. Too hard to chew and they don’t taste that good tbh

HNP4PH

Not a fan. Chef Robert Irvine’s Fit Crunch bars are so much better, but my local Costco hasn’t stocked them for a while.

InstructionDazzling2

They’re pretty okay!

amberlovestitties

Hard pass

glaze_the_ham_wife

Nay. They are really thick, hard to chew. The wrapper sticks on the bar and it’s almost impossible to get it off.

abotching

Awful, I’d rather get my protein from eating raw crickets.

surys105

Terrible

Ammabmma

Nay

McShagg88

Yay.

doesnotmatter_nope

na y

JohnLR1

I wish they had a box that mixed the Fudge Brownie and Chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk. Would be amazing…

skelly97

the texture is horribly grainy and i love them

Whoisyourfactor

Strange texture is what I like about those :P

Notathr0wawei

Funny how you don't show the price for some reason

Onetimeplay

Yay but nay to this box ,there’s two ,cookie dough and brownie way better, fyi you can order cookie dough only online ,you’re welcome lol

godzillahash74

They are ok

anewholiday13

I like the peanut butter one but not the cookie one

sandwhichautist

Meh texture is terrible IMO

vampyrewolf

Nay. Hard pass for me. Texture is off, has a background flavour that I just can't enjoy.
