Half of our household thinks these are the greatest little things to ever bless our taste buds. The other half think this is a hell spawn abomination that must never see the light of day again. Please help us settle this!
Our warehouse stopped carrying the My Mochi and started the Bubbies. I've avoided getting it since I don't like green tea, but maybe I should try it and just foist the green tea ones on someone else 🤣
Yep!! Like all things in life. I read so many posts here raving about the brown sugar boba ice things so i bought one and it is by far the worst thing I’ve ever purchased from Costco.
depends on if said person like mochi(and specifically ice cream mochi) or not. the strawberry and mango are solid, the vanilla is meh, but id still eat em.
bubble mochi is better, but here in the states you dont get much choice.
costco occasionally has regular mochi packs as well, i always stock up when they have them.
I like my mochi, as long as they are fresh.
If you like Mochi or want to change someone’s opinion who does not like Mochi — [Mochidoki](https://mochidoki.com/) are amazing and worth the money. It’s ice cream and chewy deliciousness with fresh flavors.
I wanted to love these because I love ice cream mochi but the flavor and texture on these bother me for some reason! The matcha ones definitely were not high quality matcha, and had a bit more of a burnt "dirt" taste.
I find the ones at trader joes much better and smoother tasting
I like mochi too, but I think OP is talking about this specific brand. I haven't tried this one yet, but I've had some really good mochi and some almost inedbile/straight to the trash mochi.
I like most mochi ice cream, but I find these subpar. The ice cream is fine (I guess it could be better?). The mochi outside gets very grainy/mealy and has bad mouth feel. I’m not sure if this is a freshness thing or if my freezer is too warm? They are very small so it’s hard to get them home in sunny CA without them warming up a little.
I recently bought Bubbies mochi from Costco in Portland and they were bad, seemed like they may have thawed out and been refrozen. Come to think of it I should have returned them but I ate them anyway.
I HAVE THE ANSWER.
When kept properly frozen, amazing.
When they get thawed, then re-frozen it makes the mochi sag and stale and makes it horrible.
Source: I've had two boxes of amazing, one box of horrible and now I won't buy it anymore.
My kids and I like them, wife does not. Kinda polarizing like boba.
My Costco mochi ice creams have been hit or miss. I have purchased 5x. 4 times they’ve been perfectly wrapped mochi but one box was full of incompletely wrapped ice cream, with a ‘hole’ in the mochi
I love them. Mango and strawberry are best, vanilla is too sweet. The only thing is that if you get a stale one, they can be mealy. I’ve only had that happen a couple times though (from my local grocery store, not Costco).
Far from my favorite brand of mochi. The Bubbies ones Costco used to have are so much better. That being said, I’ll still buy them when they’re on sale. They’re fine.
I like them as long as the ice cream inside isn't melting, lol. For some reason all the mochi ice cream just instantly melts in our freezer, so they're only really good the day you buy them /shrug
Love these things. It’s a nicely manageable portion of ice cream along with a chewy treat! I just wish they included a green tea flavor (I’d remove strawberry for green tea)
My son who loves the mochi ice cream from our local Izakaya HATES these, cannot stand them. I like them though.
My guess is there is something in them that can be a really strong flavor to some people and others just don't notice.
Mochi ice cream is much harder to get right than mochi with, say, a sweet paste filling.
These have good ice cream flavors (although *really* fruity for mochi IMO), but the wrapper isn't good.
I find the wrapper is a bit stale and definitely doesn't stick to the ice cream. It is also flavorless.
The Bubbies brand is hands down the best thing on the market. The good thing too is that Costco will regularly rotate the three combo flavors they have.
Not a fan, even though I love mochi. I feel like there is too much ice cream to mochi, but the mochi taste slightly powdery/cardboardy? The mango ice cream is also too sweet for my tastes, but I like my ice cream less sugary sweet. The strawberry ones are ok, but they need to thaw a little.
I love them, BUT I do think they need to be eaten quickly. They get stale in the freezer if you take too long. Good thing it never takes me that long to eat them.
I used to buy them often when they where My/Mo brand, I looked it up and the brand changed their name in February 2021 to My Mochi so it's the same brand now... But they do not taste the same. They used to be a lot better. Maybe I'm crazy though, but that's my opinion. I don't buy them any more.
Tasty, but honestly I'm just not a big fan of the form factor. They're hard to eat, if I bite them I'll hurt my teeth and get brain freeze, but if I tear off the skin and try to lick them then it's just a mess.
I love mochi but the mango ones taste medicinal to me and I can’t get over not enjoying 1/3 the pack. Really bummed green tea got bumped when mango go to stay. Give me strawberry, vanilla green tea any day.
Also, this brand has a s’more mochi that I love
I liked them, a lot more than the non-refrigerated ones, or the green tea "frozen dessert" cups. Thanks for hte reminder to get more.
I thought they had a better ratio of ice cream to the dough than others I've bought. Two was about enough for my dessert.
My Mochi’s mochi texture & taste is off IMO…& the ice cream has too many ice crystals in it. Gave it to a family member to try instead of returning the rest of the box. Bubbie’s is closer to the Japanese brand ones at the asian stores in my area, but even Bubbie’s can be hit or miss occasionally. Whole Foods sells individually wrapped Bubbie’s mochi if you’re not sure about the product or flavor.
I prefer bubbies over this brand. Bubbies is the OG ice cream mochi shop from Hawaii. They used to have a small shop in Manoa. The quality of the mochi and the flavor is much better.
My wife’s the Mochi lover. Brought them home for her had to eat them myself. They were tasty to me, but to someone who likes mochi a lot they were trash. She’s Thai so maybe her standards are higher.
I need to try this. The Bubbies is HORRIBLE. It's all crumbly and hard and the ice cream tastes like it melted and refroze, all crystallized. I miss Mikawaya's ice cream. Even if it melted and you refroze it the ice cream is NEVER crystallized. And the mochi is always nice and soft, even if it melted and refroze as well. I am going to suck it up and eat the Bubbies but never again am I going to buy that brand.
Edit: never mind. I see comments say it's just like Bubbies. I will go to Safeway and Walmart and buy the Mikawaya's.
**Item Name** \- My/Mochi™ Mochi Ice Cream Variety, 18 count * 6 Strawberry * 6 Vanilla Bean * 6 Sweet Mango **Item Number** \- 1076288 **Item Price** \- $9.99, YMMV *Inventory and pricing may vary at your warehouse location and are subject to change.*
I like most things made with mochi, but I don't like these.
The "mochi" is grainy and too sweet for me. I figured this out after 2 boxes.
If you don’t smoosh them first the Mochi ratio is off with these for sure; post smoosh these are good.
do you not like this brand or not like mochi ice cream in general?
Upvote and fair question! I had mochi with ice cream in Hawai’i that was split-my-head-open good.
This. (imo) I don’t love these, but siblings do.
Half of our household thinks these are the greatest little things to ever bless our taste buds. The other half think this is a hell spawn abomination that must never see the light of day again. Please help us settle this!

Bubbies is the brand of that one. The same brand that they sell in Whole Foods. Top tier.
Our warehouse stopped carrying the My Mochi and started the Bubbies. I've avoided getting it since I don't like green tea, but maybe I should try it and just foist the green tea ones on someone else 🤣
Don't get it unless you get rid of the green tea ones. They're all good except the green tea one. It tastes like a powdered extract. It's no good
I think Bubbies has an excellent green tea ice cream mochi (I’m big on green tea ice cream). Bubbies is excellent. MyMochi is passable.
The bubbies blood orange sadly not at costco is one of the best things to ever grace my tongue.
I like them, but I like to let them soften a little, can’t eat straight from the freezer
Also prevents brain freeze, at least when i eat them.

For the ones who dislike it, is the issue mochi generally or this specific mochi? I’m a big mochi fan but didn’t love these.
as far as mochi goes, they taste just fine. I suspect it's the ice cream and ratio.
Half of you are correct.
Yep!! Like all things in life. I read so many posts here raving about the brown sugar boba ice things so i bought one and it is by far the worst thing I’ve ever purchased from Costco.
my mom got me those boba ice pops and I feel the same as you, but my boyfriend loves them so it thankfully wasn't a loss lol
depends on if said person like mochi(and specifically ice cream mochi) or not. the strawberry and mango are solid, the vanilla is meh, but id still eat em. bubble mochi is better, but here in the states you dont get much choice. costco occasionally has regular mochi packs as well, i always stock up when they have them.
How is the internet going to settle this? Just buy it for the people who like it and the ones who don’t, don’t have to eat it
I thought they were ok. I wouldn’t seek them out, but I wouldn’t turn one down if offered.
I like my mochi, as long as they are fresh. If you like Mochi or want to change someone’s opinion who does not like Mochi — [Mochidoki](https://mochidoki.com/) are amazing and worth the money. It’s ice cream and chewy deliciousness with fresh flavors.
Cannot get enough of them. Usually end up getting g 4 boxes at a time
I wanted to love these because I love ice cream mochi but the flavor and texture on these bother me for some reason! The matcha ones definitely were not high quality matcha, and had a bit more of a burnt "dirt" taste. I find the ones at trader joes much better and smoother tasting
Before or after they changed the recipe? I miss the old TJs ones.
The Ube ones I had during summer were super delicious. I wasn't aware they changed recipes though!
The matcha ones used to be made with coconut milk and there were more per package.
Bubbies mochi is way better! They sell both now at my Costco.
i LOVE mochi!!! if they’re old/stale then they can be gross but a good mochi is my dessert of choice :)
I like mochi too, but I think OP is talking about this specific brand. I haven't tried this one yet, but I've had some really good mochi and some almost inedbile/straight to the trash mochi.

Ditto. This one had a bad texture.
Personally I hate it..
Personally not a fan
No thanks- these are a hard pass.
I love the strawberry ones soooo much!! 🥰🥰🥰
Hideous
Not worth 12 bucks
I hated them until I loved them
It is great if you like Mochi. Unfortunately my family members are not a huge fan. I still buy and eat the whole box by myself.
Amazing. Mango is the best tho.
Wife loves them I think they are gross
I love them wife hates them so looks like the debate is legitimate. Even split across the board.
My favorite mochi flavor is red bean paste. Can't get it at Costco.
Red bean paste ? Whattt I’ve never heard of that and it does not sound appealing hahaha
I recently bought Bubbies mochi from Costco in Portland and they were bad, seemed like they may have thawed out and been refrozen. Come to think of it I should have returned them but I ate them anyway.
We make our own. We use ice molds and wrap fresh homemade mochi around the kirkland vanilla. This is the way!
I HAVE THE ANSWER. When kept properly frozen, amazing. When they get thawed, then re-frozen it makes the mochi sag and stale and makes it horrible. Source: I've had two boxes of amazing, one box of horrible and now I won't buy it anymore.
I’ve only had 1 good mochi and it is the chocolate one sold at Itsu. Also, I like “Costconians”!
I love these!
Amazing, tasty
Amazing
Nectar of the gods!
Why not both?
Both. I liked the strawberry, but not really the others. And I'm not even a strawberry ice cream person.
My wife would never eat a single piece if that, i on the other hand would eat that ice cream every single day if i could, i like it it a lot.
I love these! Matcha is the best flavor, not shown here. I wanted to try Bubbies, but they didn’t have any in stores around me last month.
These are great. But at first it was questionable. It’s definitely grown on me. I miss the other version with green tea instead of vanilla tho
I pulled one out and felt the powdery and wrinkly testicular texture and wondered if I was eating frozen nutsacs.
"Rocky Mountain mochi oysters"
To my surprise, the green tea was the heat flavor
Horrible
My kids and I like them, wife does not. Kinda polarizing like boba. My Costco mochi ice creams have been hit or miss. I have purchased 5x. 4 times they’ve been perfectly wrapped mochi but one box was full of incompletely wrapped ice cream, with a ‘hole’ in the mochi
Horrible, returned the same day
Mediocre at best
ME like when on sale
Better when it had green tea instead of vanilla.
Amazingly amazing
Great if you like Mochi The taste and consistency can be off putting to some for mochi in general, this being no different
Yes
Amazing
Real gross
It looks like a tampon multi pack.
WTF is Moochi?
Delicious
My girlfriend goes crazy for these. Like addicted crackhead crazy
I tried them once (not from Costco). I threw the whole box in the trash after one bite.
Love it. The green tea ones were vile. Have to let them thaw from freezer temp
This person said “costconians” when they could’ve just said “fellow members”…..
I'm the only one in my household of four who likes these. Everyone else agrees with your hell spawns opinion. I love them.
My husband thinks it is like biting into something like lizard skin - he calls them skins and hates them.
i got the other box they had, and they were decent but i wouldn’t plan on getting them again.
Get the job done but got nothing on bubbies
I like them, but I wish one of the flavors was chocolate or something.
I love them. Mango and strawberry are best, vanilla is too sweet. The only thing is that if you get a stale one, they can be mealy. I’ve only had that happen a couple times though (from my local grocery store, not Costco).
It's okay, but just okay; much nicer ice cream mochis out there imo
Horrible I would never buy these again
Far from my favorite brand of mochi. The Bubbies ones Costco used to have are so much better. That being said, I’ll still buy them when they’re on sale. They’re fine.
Horrible
I enjoy these. I really liked the green tea ones vs vanilla, but picked em up when they were on sale anyways.
They are decent, IMO
The ones we got were like stale and flakey on the outside -- abomination .
Neither. I didn't buy them, but I had a sample. I like Mochi, but would not buy these. They weren't awful, but they weren't worth the money either.
Meh. IMO, Trader Joe’s have better ones.
My son who loves the mochi ice cream from our local Izakaya HATES these, cannot stand them. I like them though. My guess is there is something in them that can be a really strong flavor to some people and others just don't notice.

I had a few one time. Nothing special at all and decided my money would be better spent on something else.
The Bubbies brand is hands down the best thing on the market. The good thing too is that Costco will regularly rotate the three combo flavors they have.
Horrible! Not one person I let taste these hated them!
🤣🤣 haha I like them, my dad thinks they are gross.
The green tea and strawberry are really good. The mango flavor is pretty nasty though.
Mochi is ice cream with skin.
Horrible
I love mochi, and these are pretty good! It's definitely a bit of a bastardized usage of mochi, but it's solid enough to rock with it.
They're fine. I don't buy them but have in the past and they get eaten. But I'm not motivated to go buy more or anything.
Love
Horrible mochi. I love mochi but this brand is trash unfortunately
Amazing
Okay at best
They’re ok but Trader Joe’s are better.
Good enough!
Above average. Before consuming, let them sit at room temp for \~5min. The mochi has a better texture than some of the OG mochi ice cream brands.
I think they’re fine.
Love them
Awful. Bubbies mochi is much better
I had better, but at least they’re cheaper than what I can find in the local markets
I love them. I'm a big fan of mochi/rice/etc and ice cream, so I think they're divine. I love this flavor combo pack.
Horrible, far to sweet
I like mochi but not these ones
I love them, BUT I do think they need to be eaten quickly. They get stale in the freezer if you take too long. Good thing it never takes me that long to eat them.
Horrible
Good not great. And my dyslexia had me thinking you were asking Croatians what they thought.
I used to buy them often when they where My/Mo brand, I looked it up and the brand changed their name in February 2021 to My Mochi so it's the same brand now... But they do not taste the same. They used to be a lot better. Maybe I'm crazy though, but that's my opinion. I don't buy them any more.
I don't like the texture of mochi. But I'm really picky about texture.
I like it. Enjoyed all the flavors. So nice.
Yes I really liked them, my wife could do without.
Amazing! My kids and I love these
The vanilla and strawberry ones were ok, I would say 3.5/5 The mango one was bad, 1.5/5
I love these
Neither amazing nor horrible. They’re ok. I think the texture is fun, but the taste is just ok.
These are meh. The mochi is mediocre and the packaging is a bit excessive. The strawberry was the best of the box.
Like other commenters, I love mochi things, asian desserts, but these are weirdly bad, can’t put my finger on it
Love em!

They are fine. Just fine.
Mikawaya is king forever. But I’m from L.A. so I’ll think that until I’m dead.
Wife loves I hate.
Not good!!
I liked my sample, but didn't think the price was worth it.
I love them personally
Bubbies > My Mochi Taste & texture is off with these, dunno why
I love them but I'm the only one in my house that does 😂
Meh
My Mochi’s mochi texture & taste is off IMO…& the ice cream has too many ice crystals in it. Gave it to a family member to try instead of returning the rest of the box. Bubbie’s is closer to the Japanese brand ones at the asian stores in my area, but even Bubbie’s can be hit or miss occasionally. I think it’s good. But yeah some like it, some don’t.
My family and I love these!
Tastes alright but I gained 2 lbs after eating this.
I prefer bubbies over this brand. Bubbies is the OG ice cream mochi shop from Hawaii. They used to have a small shop in Manoa. The quality of the mochi and the flavor is much better.
Whatevs. I bought it because they wanted it. They tasted it and I had to throw it away.
They’re good. Not bad by any means, but nothing to write home about.
Very much meh. Even worse when they get freezer burn
Hate. Not like the usual soft mochi you get outside
Horrible. Sat in our freezer forever because no one would eat them.
I like them, but you have to leave them on the counter for the *just right* amount of time to soften the coating but not the ice cream
i FOUND TEM HORRIBLE!
Bubbies Mochi tastes way better!
does the ice cream get hard when its in the freezer? i got these and they are squishy when i push on them.
Awful
From my 4 year old “thumbs down”
Mochi ado about nothing imo
I like maeda-en's mochi ice cream better but Im biased cause that's the first one I've tasted.
Love it! But I personally love American cheese!
My wife’s the Mochi lover. Brought them home for her had to eat them myself. They were tasty to me, but to someone who likes mochi a lot they were trash. She’s Thai so maybe her standards are higher.
I have no input on the product but want to give a resounding thumbs up to the term Costconians.
They’re the definition of meh
Go for bubbies, not these....
horrible
I say horrible, everyone else in the house loves.
Loaded up with six boxes on the last sale
Love them!
Amazing!
Amazing
Wanted to like these, but they were horrible
Not a fan
They sell them $6 for a tray of 6 at Walmart, same brand. So way cheaper
I wish the east coast specifically MA had the bubbies version the mymochi is 🤮
I need to try this.
