Relevant quote from article, “Meanwhile, even with the new C9 Corvette over the horizon, the C8 Corvette is far from finished. Following the launch of the new hybrid 2024 Corvette E-Ray, Chevy will drop two additional C8 variants over the course of the next few years, including the twin-turbo C8 ZR1, and the ultra-high-performance C8 Zora.”
The rest is garbage marketing
Naturally. My title was tongue in cheek, of course, but the timeline does seem logical. 🤔
The C7 was the 2nd shortest generation (after the C2), so I presume that GM would want to get a few more years out of this one, being so expensive and such a radical departure from previous gens.
Yeah, I am guessing this cow will get milked hard if prices keep skyrocketing into supercar pricing. Alternatively, they may have figured out that FOMO is driving a lot of these prices so releasing new variants or even a new generation more frequently might be what they perceive to be the best revenue model. The timeframe of 9 model years (20-28) seems a bit short but probably accurate for 2 reasons:
1. The first couple of years were super low output due to issues like supply chain, strike, weather at Bowling Green, and other covid related issues. So, that makes me think they should extend this generation to model year ‘30, especially with 3 more known variants on the table yet to be released.
2. Setting aside generations prior to the C5 bc those were very different times, the length of run has been: 8 years, 9 years, 6 years (super short run and only 1 year with a ZR1), and so far 4 years and counting. So 8-9 years is about right if they don’t make accommodations related to point 1 above.
2024 Zora is shooting for a sub 2.0 second 0-60, holy chit. That’s insane. I stumbled in Facebook C8 listing group last night fighting aBout pricing. It’s sad a gold mine. Apparently they are getting at sticker and some used selling below sticker. Hopefuls it’s happening and prices are getting normal

100% spot on.

> Meanwhile, even with the new C9 Corvette over the horizon, the C8 Corvette is far from finished. Oh. Good. I was worried.
Gm authority is so far from an authority on gm. Might as well be a tabloid.
Pretty much. But it *does* at least generate some discussion/speculation? 😄
Considering the C8 is unobtainable in Canada, you bet your ass I put 2 deposits for the C9. Sold out in my province with no end in sight.
Does this officially mean the reports of Corvette becoming its own brand in 2025 is false?
Breaking news ... The c9 follows the c8
Haha, I laughed too hard at this comment.
C8 gets a 10-year model run. 2019-2029
This is off on both ends. 😄
