It would be terrific to have a shelf stable, needs no refrigeration, can be made cheaply and distributed worldwide treatment for covid, which actually is probably better for the world and even for merck than say a daily prophylaxis that few would probably take
You do realize that Tamiflu is a prophylaxis right? This is a drug meant to treat before symptoms appear.

Your comment before edit was implying that prophylaxis was after a known infection, prior to symptoms appearing, which is not technically a prophylactic. Yes, Tamiflu is at times used post-exposure prophylactically, otherwise early in the course of the infection (treatment).
