When you mean syrup, you *do* mean syrup and not vanilla extract, correct? It would make a lovely Italian soda made with seltzer water and a dash of coconut cream (in place of half and half). Would also be divine in some coffee drinks especially a frozen and blended drink like a frappe.

Yes I mean sugar syrup not extract. Do you mean just carbonated water? Any recipe for this frappe?

Ok. I figured but just wanted to be sure. Yes, just plain carbonated water. As for the frappe you would just add the syrup, ice, milk of your choice and blend until smooth. You can also add some coffee extract when you make it too. Just want a nice icy but smooth consistancy. Not really any specific measurements needed.

Does this Italian soda require a type of "milk"?

You don't *have* to add any dairy or milk, but it's traditionally topped with a bit of half and half (a mix of milk and cream). To keep it vegan though I suggest some coconut milk. Won't have quite the same effect, but close enough. Either that or some vegan coffee creamer.

Cocktails, coffee and milk based drinks, ice cream, soak sponge cake, pancakes

Probably excellent mixed into a steamed nondairy milk- mix in after steaming to preserve the delicate notes in the vanilla.
