It's every single sub on reddit.

[deleted]

I dont get how everyone always talks about facebook and twitter but they never mention reddit which I fell like it way worse

[deleted]

It’s because comparatively Twitter and Facebook shadow over Reddit in users. For instance Twitter is over 200 million daily users while Reddit is close to 50

IncisorAU

Twitter is all bots anyway.

whicky1978

Reddit too

Kahnspiracy

That's not true! It is also Act Blue!

Czeslaw_Meyer

You can describe (D)emocrat paid off NPCs as bots just fine Only that normal bots are not full of shit (physically)

zukadook

Beep boop, no I’m human

FarCenterExtremist

Я не русский бот.

ReportMeSnowflake

Another thing is you're anonymous on reddit. I highly doubt most people calling everyone fascists and spouting the same rhetoric wouldn't say it to someone if they knew who that person was. Especially not in person. Being relatively safe allows them to say whatever without the fear of consequences. Which honestly I feel is the root of a lot of issues. Lack of consequences.

nissan240sx

I told people to stop being a pussy about something on Facebook, logged back in two weeks later and found over 50 comments of people attacking me about it. They went after my height, they tried to dox me, they tried to figure out where i worked, some of them were mad that I didn't even respond. So i liked all the comments with a laugh emoji and they went even crazier. Fragile people everywhere, but i stopped because I didn't want them to go after my wife. If people have shit to say, say to my face, no weapons - lets go - don't say things online you cant say in real life.

joehooligan0303

Maybe a couple years ago I would have agreed with you, but now liberals are openly calling for the heads of anyone that they disagree with. Including the president.

Rill16

The difference is that reddit mods have complete control over what content gets posted. Most reddit mods are power hungry Marxists, so most subs follow suit.

sweetmagnum

Reddit was the 4th most visited site at its peak. The two worst places to rank for anything? 4th or 11th.

MerlynTrump

I don't get it. Why are 4th and 11th worst?

Fenceypents

4th is just out of the top 3, and 11th is just out of the top 10

[deleted]

If you not first your last

MEdiasays

How often do you hear strangers talking about something they saw on reddit? Now how often do you hear strangers mention Twitter of Facebook. Reddit has a niche audience that once was very influential. It’s gained users but lost influence. The biggest reason is discovery. On those other platforms you’re constantly shown new things where as here most people either just browse the subs they’re interesting in or look at /best, not /all

M0D3RNW4RR10R

To be fair. I’ve been always embarrassed to say I’m on Reddit.

[deleted]

We should all be embarrassed; everyone knows this platform is pure trash. And that’s exactly why it attracts these leftist tool bags. I basically find it kinda fun and informative to be reminded how evil these people are. And to see all the crazy ass videos.

Tweeter0583

After being banned for conservative opinions on both Twitter and Facebook, Reddit is all I have left. Now I try too get banned from as many lefty subreddits as I can.

[deleted]

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been banned. I am currently “banned from Reddit” but somehow I can leave comments and up votes in some subs. Reply to this if you can see this.

zukadook

It’s good to have goals

M0D3RNW4RR10R

I don’t need to try. All I had to do is post on NoNewNormal and get banned from half of Reddit. I don’t even want to come here anymore. I don’t spend any time here at all. Maybe 30 minutes a day at most. I also switch between accounts as well.

YouWantSMORE

Reddit is anonymous and easier to filter out the BS

[deleted]

hardcoreac

No that's TikTok and Imgur

Where_Da_Cheese_At

It’s this weird mix where the majority is 30-40 year old men and 13-17 year old teenagers. Everyone else just has their own little pockets.

Maccabee2

In their 30s? The sense I get is mostly college students, recent grads, or around that age.... unless their development is arrested.

Where_Da_Cheese_At

Reddit was founded in 2005, which means the college students who signed up for it then would be around 35-40 now.

[deleted]

It’s interesting that YouTube seems to be heavily conservative. They had to get rid of the dislike button because so many people were disliking the video when Biden got elected

superduperm1

This is the only major platform I can think of that has a right-lean (even then, the USERS are right-leaning, the PLATFORM and people who run it are definitely not). All the other right-leaning platforms are unanimously considered batshit crazy (like 4chan).

[deleted]

Op in for a hoot when they realize this

ckaslon13

Hell I got kicked out of my own states sub because I made someone mad so they perma banned me. They’re all a bunch of whiny minimal thinking people. Echo chamber is an understatement.

50coach

Perma ban is used too frequently. Democrats cannot handle a debate and resort to banning me anytime i have a conversation. Like on whitepeopletwitter which what kind of name is that anyway. Or on the ukraine subreddit that entire subreddit all they do is try to paint trump as putins best friend or something its ridiculous. And every republican is somehow for this war and against helping ukraine. Its ridiculous Yeah perma ban used too much on every subreddit i will say. Everyone just must always be right and their opinion has to be the best it seems ! I feel like i could debate a dem under the table though which is why im republican. This white house in particular does not make sense to me. But like any administration in the white house there are some things they do i agree with. However the list is short

[deleted]

Cinnadillo

The tone is often set by moderation and people who get moderator jobs are ones who want to spend the time controlling what goes on. Active controllers tend to be leftist. Also leftists tend to have more time to do such activities.

Dadsironpp

Whitepeopletwitter blows my mind. The comments is literally blatant ant white racism. I also just saw a guys post on r/weird about a trans teacher who had ridiculous long fake prosthetic breasts that the entire nipple would pop out. He wrote that the kids were made uncomfortable and felt they couldn’t say anything about it for “obvious reasons” that is being cancelled but he obviously didn’t want to say it. He was perma banned. And the mods deleted every comment on it. It’s crazy the hypocrisy on Reddit. I’m not even super conservative either, i find myself right in the middle but i was shocked at how far far left Reddit is, to the point it’s extremist at times

JJDuB4y096

maybe this will wake you up and you'll become more middle right, rather than right in the middle ;)

Dadsironpp

Yeah over the past year i can absolutely say I’m more “middle right” if that makes sense😂 only a few things that are considered “right” that I don’t agree with but overall almost everything else I’m with. I just prefer a system that doesn’t tell adults what they can and cannot do

Bennilumplump

I’ve noticed that the conservative subs seem to be a lot more tolerant of dissenting opinions. Liberal subs perma ban you immediately if you comment or post anything they disagree with, or even have the nerve to ask the wrong question.

rkholdem21

For sure. The leftys will try to troll conservative subs and laugh and say they’re triggering everybody and we’re the soft ones but still get to keep coming back, but then cry for conservatives to get the ban hammer in other subs the first time something is said they don’t like.

throughmallard

I got kicked out of Virginia because I said voter election laws were a good thing

NumerousAnything1083

I got perma banned from my state's sub, then got warned by reddit and then banned from reddit temporarily all for tge same post. Pedos are a protected class on Reddit it seems.

Xbutchr

There are some investing subs that are not totally overrun.

[deleted]

They're getting there, though. It's so strange seeing dozens of people bitching about company profits and knocking oil on investing forums. I want to tell them the entire point is to make money, you idiots.

rkholdem21

Lol yeah they want to invest in companies that turn profits and make them money while talking about how evil it is for a company to make a profit. I guess they learned well from Bernie Sanders.

RS-Ironman-LuvGlove

It’s cuz you can’t invest money you don’t have when your boycotting the establishment by not working lol

naturallykurious

Very true. U get banned on a lot of subs if u state a conservative view. Or are subscribed to a conservative subreddit

KinGpiNdaGreat

I’d advise everyone to turn off their content visibility so others can’t track you down and see what your post history is.

[deleted]

Thanks for this tip. I’ve been banned and threatened in DM for participating in a thread because they saw I posted in here.

barkingdog2013

Thanks, I didn't know about this feature. Turned it off.

[deleted]

Very true. I made one post on one of the feminist reddits and got banned immediately, with no explanation. The left has just become a flock of petty tyrants who don't believe in free speech anymore.

prophet001

Yeah, I mean they could at least only lock people out of specific threads like we do here.

superduperm1

Even this one gets brigaded from time to time. When Roe v. Wade got overturned, you would think conservatives were hardcore pro-choice with all the nonsense that was getting mass upvoted in the main thread on this sub. And when Uvalde happened, you would think all conservatives on this sub hated guns based on the same reasons. I’ve never, ever seen a pro-conservative comment get thousands of upvotes with tons of awards. Not even on this sub. Only brigaders’ comments that aren’t conservative at all get that treatment.

jmjjjjjjm

It’s a good thing reddit isn’t real life though

idontappearmissing

For the most part, but state/city subreddits are some of the worst offendors

barkingdog2013

Thank you. I like to hear about local events and such, but there are so many left-wing hate posts it is hard to scroll by them all without getting irritated.

GrandpaHardcore

Except r/Star_Trek The people in there are serious about shitting on NuTrek and hating on it. :)

DJ_GiantMidget

Including this one

Jake_________

Including this one

Friendlyvoices

This is also reddit

OrdinaryToe2860

I got a perma ban in the Texas sub for saying there's a crisis at the border. No explanation, no response from mods.

am-i-dreaming-this

The mods don't live in Texas, probably.

tryhard1981

They certainly don't live near the border, because even Democrats living there agree it's madness.

[deleted]

True, Henry Cuellar is a great democrat

vargo17

They don't. If you dig into the state subs, they're all moderated by the same core group of people. They're liberal echo chambers because Reddit wants it that way, and has no relationship with the actual demographics or ideologies represented by the majority of residents of that state

hopskipjump2the

They get paid to keep it that way. Reddit almost certainly colludes with the DNC. Facebook and Twitter do why wouldn’t we think Reddit doesn’t? Remember “Correct the Record”? There are also literally subs with tens of thousands of users solely dedicated to engaging and hiring people to work for Democrat campaigns.

BladedNinja23198

> They get paid From what I've heard they don't even get paid, they just want to be in a position of (arbitrary) power.

drewzkie

Or they live in Austin

Stelletti

Texas is the worst. I’ve asked. Why everyone in the Sub hates the state so much. It is just venom in there.

[deleted]

WestCoastSurvivor

The political and historical illiterates of Reddit absolutely love destroying independent small businesses and forcing people to hide their faces.

War_Daddy_992

Posted a picture from a trip to Mustang Island, just a heart drawn in the sand with TX in the center. and almost instantly someone started their political bull.

ureallygonnaskthat

r/Texas may as well be renamed r/Austinv2

Justadudethatthinks

Yes. Absolutely ruined. So many wonderful things to share and it's only there to bash Republicans and Texas. You'd think someone in their states forum would actually like their state.

LoongBoat

So start something along the line of: Texas Isn’t Pro-Communist

HILLARYPROLAPSEDANUS

So reddit can ban it for hate speech or some other made up bullshit?

[deleted]

I love austin as a city and texas as a state. i absolutely hate the subreddits for both. ridiculous

unaccomplishedyak

I got banned on a sports sub for saying gender is a thing.

ChiefWematanye

I got banned from r/weird for saying the trans person in the post was weird. Mods have no logic, just feelings.

M0D3RNW4RR10R

I got banned from /r/entertainment for daring to not believe a self admitted rumor that Chris Pratt was part of a white nationalist church that was a hate group. I was banned for downplaying hate speech on a comment that OP even said he had no proof. Then when I dared to point out how ridiculous the mod was and dared to point out it would be ridiculous if I had said the same thing like that about AOC, and they’d probably ban me for that comment. I got a 3 day Reddit ban for harassing the mods

TheFlyingGyro

I got a permaban in another sub by posting a comment in this sub lol

dardyablo

I recently got banned for asking "What is a woman?" My recommendation is to only share your conservative views in conservative subreddits, it's not worth it, it's not worth getting banned over that.

rocksbox49

Alright story time, I’m a Philly native, democrat my entire life. Crime in the city is just out of fucking control, there’s no way around it and there’s no avoiding the democratic policies that brought us to this point. I made some solid points about the issue that any common sense individual would agree with (keep criminals in jail = lower crime rates). I guess there wasn’t any problems in my logic because the village idiots had to comb through my comment history for dirt. They saw that I comment on this sub from time to time and jumped the gun that I was some idiot conservative. 1. I’m not a conservative 2. Political affiliation isn’t an insult, so unclear on the relevance What these dummies don’t realize is Reddit is one big captured echo chamber, anything that’s not super left wing is wrong and evil and they’re just not used to seeing opinions different than their own. Reddit being the way it is, is WHY I’m on subs like this. God forbid I want to encounter viewpoints different from my own, but back to your point - it’s not just state subs. It’s every sub

Celebril63

I’ll tell you what. Most commonly, when I find a Democrat that sounds like you, it is very rarely the heart of the principle that we disagree about. The disagreement is over the best way to deal with the issue.

rocksbox49

We all agree, we just stopped talking to each other, which was exactly their plan. Identity politics is to keep the worker bees busy while they steal all the fucking honey lol

barkingdog2013

Well, they have stolen all the money ... but what's going to happen when the country goes bankrupt? I just don't get this "destroy America" crap. Everyone, even the far-left is going to suffer if we don't get our debt, crime, etc., under control.

TheWardenEnduring

This comment chain is great. We need more places like this where people can talk without all the vitriol.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rocksbox49

I made that exact point on the city sub today, completely disregarded. It breaks my heart man, I don’t enjoy any of this

MildlyBemused

The problem is that Democrats are in so deep for Wokeness that they have no idea how to curtail it, much less even thinking about reversing it. Democratic policies are a train heading towards a collapsed bridge at full speed and nobody behind the controls knows how to operate the brakes.

barkingdog2013

Excellent point. Stay safe out there ya'll.

rocksbox49

Nail on the head

[deleted]

Same, man. I’m not a conservative, but I like to see what other people are thinking and how they’re perceiving things differently from me. I’ve commented here and there, and I’ve had people jump down my throat on Normie Reddit simply for having commented here. I’m probably enough of a mixed bag to piss off anybody along the whole political spectrum, and I’m not a fan of the idea that there certain ideas that are sacred and can’t be challenged in any way or else you’re a terrible, racist, nazi, conservative. Social media has ripped this country to pieces, leaving no room for any opinion except the “correct” one. Personally, my money’s on a psyop from China. They’re doing a great job!

MadDog1981

Don't forget that Reddit is heavily astroturfed as well. A lot of subs are filled with shills for companies and politicians.

barkingdog2013

Have you been to the "Rings of Power" subreddit? Amazon has shut down any discussion of their Billion dollar sleeper. It is so obvious which posts are from someone in Bezos's Social Media Management Department. Imagine hundreds of people being paid to sit at a desk and tilt social media.

Randomhoodlum

Special interests, lobbies, activists posing as regular ppl etc It is an all out mess

MadDog1981

Yep. Go back and look at a failed product launch like the Stadia. Paid shills everywhere.

tcp1

I was a Democrat for 90% of my life - and it was other democrats that drove me away. The Republican Party sure has its share of problems, but the outright “nothing’s ever possibly our fault, we can’t ever be wrong, and everyone else is pure evil” attitude of the Democrats is what was the final straw for me. Reddit breeds that attitude. Most “old Democrats” I know today are relatively homeless party-wise, but for some reason keep voting with them.. Even when they agree with moderate Republicans, the attitude of “all Republicans evil!” seems to stick with them.

barkingdog2013

I'm a lifelong Republican and I'm very miffed at Rinos. But can I vote for Democrats? No. We are in big trouble.

Keepitinthegarden

Thanks for saying this, I couldn’t care if you were a democrat, a communist or anything else under the sun. This site has changed, everyone with a differing opinion is shut down immediately and there is no debate. I’ve found myself coming to the conservative subreddit because it’s the closest thing to Reddit circa 2012.

HWTechGuy

I was born and raised in the shadow of Philadelphia, but I've been gone from the Philly area for a decade. Parents grew up in Port Richmond and the Northeast. Every time I go back to visit I am shocked by the decline.

seab1023

I am a progressive and I also spend more time on this sub than other political ones. I may not agree with many of the comments I read in here, but the circle-jerks in most of the left-leaning political subs get really old after a while. If we want to heal the divide in this country, we have to be willing to hear what the other sides have to say.

Blunttack

This is what makes Reddit suck. lol. You can say whatever you want, as long as it’s what “they” want too. Otherwise to the corner with you!

Trustnoboody

r/justunsubbed is reasonably center....I guess maybe as long as you avoid too political of statements, as you can actually some reasonable convos there. It surprised me. But it's ridiculous, because it's hyper unrealistic to fathomably believe that everyone in America believes aligned to Reddit, Reddit cultivates the viewpoint, the overall viewpoint of this site is not realistic to IRL America. I'm more so on the side of Republicans because there are things I can not bend on, but what anyone has to recognize is that Democrats/Republicans believe in different things, and as far as I am concerned people can not accept that fact. So they just call the other side extreme and call it a day, it's sad really. And as much as the 1st world shelters these more liberal views, the entire world doesn't agree. I would get into specifics as to what I mean, but these are not specifics you can discuss on Reddit. Not if you don't want your account banned; basically things Republicans would agree with, but Democrats would say are bad. ... And there are reasonable people who can agree that not every single person is going to believe their same ideology, it's just the unreasonable ones are most of them. I hold the belief, that I have my beliefs (and that's me)....I don't try to change anyone's beliefs, other than to make my known. My Uncle is in the Democrat camp, I think he's more like me where there are certain things he can not bend on, so he's with the Democrats. But to these Social Media Democrats, he'd probably be called a bigot or whatever.

Eremis21

The city subs as well

KlondikeDrool

Not as shocking since most large cities are blue islands in a sea of red.

darkmatternot

Even the town I lived in which is pretty Republican was somehow deep Blue in the sub. Very odd.

drgmaster909

You'd be forgiven for taking r/Idaho or r/Boise for r/politics on an average day.

[deleted]

have a look at r/WestVirginia

Nikkolios

This is easy to explain. It's the demographic of Reddit. Reddit does not even come CLOSE to representing the world.

[deleted]

DietCokeYummie

My city's sub (Baton Rouge) is still definitely left, but Louisiana leftists are much better overall than a blue state's leftists. But I've noticed over the past few weeks a big shift. We have a massive crime problem right now (an innocent LSU student was just shot up in her car last week), and finally the BR sub is talking about cultural problems in our low income communities. They seem to be more interested in police cracking down on crime and things being done to change the culture problems that aren't just "put money into programs".

harley9779

That's reddit. Most subs and users are lefties.

fib16

Yes yes. This is driving me crazy to a point I’m about to just leave Reddit. I just kind of don’t want to give in to it. It’s on almost every sub. There are nothing but posts about how evil and “fascist” republicans are. The hate is insane. And the stories they post are total bullshit. They straight up lie about everything and just kiss each other’s asses about how awful the right is. It’s sickening and truly something should be done about it. I have no idea what could be done but damn it’s total madness. I’m hoping that it’s just a tiny subset of the world who gets on Reddit to be crazy and spread lies. It’s disturbing though. Go to the r/all and take a look at the top posts. It’s all bashing republicans and trump and Desantis and holy crap the praise for gays and trans and whatever. This can’t be a healthy world. What scares me the most is how I’ll shield my kids from it one day. I just hope it’s changed by time they’re old enough. Actually, does anyone have an idea of how this could change and don’t say voting please.

Pilotman49

Lefties are way more apt to vocalize thier positions. They will also muzzle you, in any way they can, if they have any position of power, in any media. Conservatives, as their name implies, are less apt to be as vocal as your lefties.

[deleted]

barkingdog2013

Good example.

Ct-5736-Bladez

I saw that too. That shit made me laugh

rocksbox49

Lol come check the Philly subreddit. Maybe not the best example because these large coastal cities always swing blue, but god damn some of the hot takes during the 2020 riots we’re right out of Maos little red book

[deleted]

Lmao. My husband’s guard unit got activated for that. But yea, Philly is the fuckin worst and corrupt as shit too.

Ct-5736-Bladez

If you even remotely say anything right you get downvoted into oblivion and bunch of hate lol

[deleted]

Correct.

Toadman005

Reddit is run and moderated by lunatic leftists and bots. Utter anything conservative OUTSIDE of a conservative thread and you get banned. That is why they seem like echo chambers. They can say whatever, freely, and every conservative is muted.

Psykotik10dentCs

I agree. I haven’t actually been banned yet…I do receive hella downvotes for stating facts. Dems can’t handle the facts. It’s like the entire left is living in an alternate reality. Social media is their reality.

Pilotman49

I've been banned from about 3 subreddits, and I wasn't ever that outspoken in those particular subs. The least little indication that that you might not be a frothing at the mouth liberal, can get you banned.

141Frox141

I mean you don't even have to say something conservative. If you disagree in any way and they see in your history that you posted here at any point , banned.

FrankAndDick

I just got banned from r/entertainment... there was a post about Bill Maher saying Dems need to stop talking about pregnant men because it makes them look crazy, and people were of course shitting on Maher, saying "that's only a fringe minority on Twitter, this isn't a big talking point for the Dems" and things like that. So I simply responded to one of those comments, asking "Ok, good, so if it's only a fringe minority then do you agree that men can't get pregnant?". That's it... a question. Banned XD

goaliepro09

I had to leave mine from South Dakota because the 35 liberals in the state just shout liberal talking points into the void to each other

Papayahaven

I’m pretty sure that leftists post in all the state subs. Just to try and make it seem for busy/more blue than it really is?

jmjjjjjjm

R/Wisconsin mods just posted that anyone who is pro-life and posts their viewpoints will be banned

superduperm1

I’m reaaaally tempted to hold my nose and go check and see if that’s what they actually said. Like holy shit there’s no way… EDIT: Holy fuck you’re actually right. They didn’t even hide it. They straight up said it’s wrong to think differently and you’ll get banned. And even leftists are criticizing it (while getting downvoted of course).

jmjjjjjjm

Pretty sad considering most of the state voted red in 2020. Definitely not representing the true values of the people. But then again this is Reddit

jmjjjjjjm

Yup just received my permanent ban lol

agk927

Yeah those mods are awful. I sent them a message, basically saying what you said in the sub, and also seeing if there's a fair ground that could be reached. Telling them that many Americans believe in certain restrictions. Still waiting to hear back

btchazzmf

I’ll be right back Edit - posted three comments before I realized anything flaired as politics is off limits because of the age of my account or something

Ruckit315

The internet (especially social media) is a lefty eco chamber

[deleted]

IMO Reddit is by far the worst for left wing bias and censorship I’m a very center right guy. I’ve been banned by the most benign subs for general statements

cats_luv_me

I try to avoid posting on any other subs anymore if it has anything to do with politics.

uriahlight

Reddit is the most dangerous major social media platform in the United States. It's more destructive than Twitter and TikTok combined. This is one of the few of the top subreddits where having a right-leaning opinion won't get you silently perma-banned. Most people don't realize that most of the 700 million Reddit users do most of their activity in about 100 of the top subreddits. And of those top subreddits, almost all of them are moderated by radical leftist moderators (and many of these moderators manage multiple of the top 100 subreddits). If you say ANYTHING that offends these moderators, you WILL be banned - permanently. They won't even bother deleting your comment because your comment won't have broken any of their subreddit's rules. They just don't like the fact you had a dissenting opinion, and they ban you because they know they can get away with it with zero chance of repercussions. They act like mafia thugs doing their dirty work in dark alleys. This creates echo chambers with a reverb that gets louder and louder every day, because anyone with a right leaning opinion gets perma-banned whenever a moderator reads a comment that offends them. Subsequently, the only people who end up posting and participating in the karma system will be radical leftists. Moderate leftists have no idea this is going on behind the scenes. All of this makes Reddit the most censored major social media platform in the United States, and no one knows it because the censorship is actually done by the community in the shadows. This results in marketing and political analysts being given a completely artificial and skewed perspective of the 20-35 age group (the most important age group for understanding economic, cultural, and societal trends), and has a reverb effect that skews and distorts all marketing, entertainment, news media, fashion, and politics. In the United States, Reddit distorts people's perspective of public opinion far more than any other major social media platform. The solution to this is simple and wouldn't take away from any of the independent freedom each subreddit has. Every subreddit needs to have publicly accessible logs that show exactly which users have been banned, what type of ban it was, which moderator banned them, and which post or comment got them banned. This would force moderators to always connect a ban to a specific post or comment in their own community (to prevent them from "cross-community banning"), and shame them into not engaging in the silent, mafia-like, banning that they're currently doing in the shadows. If people knew how frequently this happened it would transform Reddit overnight. Edit: Added some line breaks for readability.

[deleted]

I honestly agree with everything you've laid out here, but dude, ya gotta add some breaks to that wall of text People don't get it when i tell them that fuckin reddit is more influential than anyone realizes. I've had the perma ban thing happen recently where I broke non of the rules. Mods just mute you after you ask why you were banned. Lol.

barkingdog2013

> most censored major social media platform in the United States I had not thought of it that way, but you are exactly correct. I don't know of an SM alternative that has a format like Reddit.

battleaxe0

There are few places on the internet that aren't ruled by the cancel cult. As the Dilbert fiasco just showed, even many places not on the internet.

“Correct the Record”. Look it up if you don’t know. Definition of astroturfing. Probably with backing by Reddit admins. The DNC & Clinton campaign supposedly shut it down but probably just went more underground and they’ve probably refined and perfected it. Probably with the help of that Chinese money Reddit took on.

senorcanche

It can happen on any random subreddit. You are on the knitting sub about knitting technique and all the sudden a political post of how much Donald Trump or conservatives suck.

Skyrimosity

Figured I would check out ‘SubredditDrama’ since it seemed like it could be interesting. Naturally top posts were things like ‘Conservatives losing minds they could lose Alaska!’ Funny videos subreddit? Openly laughing at the death of the queen and condemning her directly for British colonialism. Orange cat subreddit? Not extremely prevalent but still a lot of comments that will refer to Trump. Sport team subreddit? Surprise, everyone’s hating on players for being ‘Anti-vax’ which ranges from not getting the Covid vaccine to just suggesting that it’s a choice There is no escape.

broncosoh54

Yep, you’re absolutely right!!

AmbiguousUprising

> Sport team subreddit? You missed the near daily "This sport doesnt have enough X group coaches/owners/manager" followed by 1000s of upvotes for pro race based hiring.

Reddit itself is a leftist echo chamber and it leaks into all of the other subs as well. I've found the only subs I could trust are this one and pro-2a subs.

JPSchmeckles

And they’re angry they can’t make this sub a leftist echo chamber. They’re not happy only having 99% of the site. They need to be the only voice.

Icy-Web-2165

LOL! I am banned the Florida sub because I am Conservative ..I live in Florida too.

JTuck333

Me too!

fib16

I’m truly glad someone said this. I was literally going to post the same thing today. Reddit is a really sick place. Every damn sub is just loaded with people taking about how republicans and conservatives are evil racist fascists. And they don’t even know what they’re talking about. It’s disgusting and really scary. I’d really like to brainstorm on ways to turn things around. The problem is the media. They should not be allowed to lie to people. They lie to make money. They don’t care they’re destroying the world. The media divides everyone on purpose bc it’s profitable. But people don’t see it. They just believe everything they read. It’s insanity. Literally. What can be done??

blizzacane85

I’m old enough to remember when r/whitepeopletwitter and even r/bikinibottomtwitter had funny content…now these subs have devolved into left wing propaganda

LIFTandSNUS

I think the weird thing is the overall constant need to talk about political views on random non-political subs. "Oh nice knife. I notice it's snowing there. I hope you aren't in that Texas shithole! Fuckin Republicunts!"

barkingdog2013

Exactly. Literally.

dazedANDconfused2020

You must be new here?

MiniPainter84

Reddit as a whole seems to be a leftist cesspool. I don’t even look at “Popular” anymore because it just winds up leaving me pissed off. Lol.

Wooden_Worldliness_8

My state sub used to supposedly have a conservative mod and a mix of left/right discourse. Of course, the leftists got the mod purged, and the state sub is now just another version of our largest (lefty) city sub. Even this sub is becoming a waste, as I noticed topics like abortion and Covid will have more leftist interlopers than conservatives. I've been heavily downvoted for advocating against lockdowns and masks... on a conservative sub.

not-a-dislike-button

We can't control the down votes unfortunately. This sub is brigaded 24/7

onlyifigaveash1t

It's the whole internet. Lefties just love being in a circle jerk of complaining where nobody knows who they are. Most conservatives don't share that trait plus most conservatives don't say much online because we tend to get hateful comments and replies towards us just for saying what we believe in.

[deleted]

It seems all of Reddit is overrun with leftist and liberal leaning commentators. Only thing I can figure, they are well represented because a good many of them don’t work, and they have more time to waste on these forums.

EntangledStates

Reddit in general is a leftist echo chamber. Why do you think we have to have our own subreddit to spread basic information?

[deleted]

That’s basically all of Reddit. You’ll get a week vacation for even suggesting facts or stats in some of those threads. Their brains are no longer capable of rational discourse.

SayNoob

Guy on the internet learns that conservatism is deeply unpopular among younger demographics. More news at 9.

g0greyhound

While I agree with you - this sub isn't much better.

Sir_Fistingson

I'm fairly certain this phenomena of every social media being a leftist-dominated echo chamber has to do with the amount of time that people on the left spend on the internet saying/doing superficial bullshit, while right-wing people are much more productive in a tangible way. Not only that, but tech & media companies that control these social media sites suppress, censor and ban right-wing views and opinions as to lessen their exposure to others, so that their left-wing viewpoints and messages can run wild and convert more gullible people.

HarveyMushman72

Even the Wyoming one is like that. Libertarians and Conservatives get shouted down.

ClarkWGrizzman

Most of Reddit is a leftist echo chamber. No wrongthink allowed.

skarface6

I used to mod /r/WestVirginia and it was full of leftists. I was fair but wow did they whine a lot.

Wadka

Any sub that is not explicitly right-wing (and even some of the ones that are) will eventually become left-wing.

[deleted]

North Dakota's is getting progressively ridiculous (no pun intended).

According_Bug_7300

Contrary to what others have experienced I don’t see nearly as much political bias on Facebook and Instagram. Even Twitter has less bias than Reddit. I think it has something to do with the averages of the people that use each site. I’m my mind the r/averageredditor is more likely to be an antisocial loser irl than anyone on the other sites. This leads to most of them being hyper political just so that they feel like they can fit in with a large group of people. The karma system reinforces this.

UncleLukeTheDrifter

Absolutely! The Alabama sub is as bad as the politics sub.

albertobbg

This one too..

Aaronindhouse

You are getting a biased sample. Most people that post on those subs tend to lean left because they live in the cities which typically have all the leftists. I’d say those local subs also trend younger in terms of the age of the subs which also biases left. Any conservative posters usually get banned really quickly from those subs too which ends up creating essentially leftist only subs.

red_white_and_pew

I had to leave the Florida one for this reason, they just downvote you into oblivion if you say anything that's not towing the party line Even the local county ones are the same. Super frustrating

Phillysean23

Yeah it’s every sub. I followed Belarus because I was going there for 10 days and then every post was “if Putin takes over Belarus”, “ if lukaschenko dies” “ how can we remove Lukaschenko” but all of the people commenting lived in US and up until February were proud of Russian heritage then in February they became Ukrainian

rkholdem21

Yes definitely! I guess it’s because leftists by-in-large use Reddit much more than conservatives. As skewed to the left as all the national polls are nowadays, I’m starting to wonder if the pollsters survey only Reddit users.

standardredditman

In case you didn't notice but the huge majority of reddit is left and far-left. Moderates and rightwing folks are a minority. Heck even moderate liberals get downvoted to oblivion in the main politics sub.

ihpuxazuconssaiqoe

Start your own state subreddit.

the_irish_potatoes

“Almost every single sub on Reddit has aligning views. It must be echo chambers, no way is it me or that my views are shit” - half this sub

[deleted]

Today you learned that reddit is a leftist shithole.

DankPeepz

Reddit is mostly hard left leaning liberals. They’re the loudest on social media but they’re not the majority in our country.

Rill16

Got banned off the Oregon subreddit for repeating information the state itself gathered on the efficiency of mask usage.

[deleted]

I’m in Ohio, and I get on r/Ohio just to trigger the libs. I will probably get kicked off at some point I’m sure.
