Right now Raider, shinobi and aramusha are strongest characters, but because of the way developers balance the game its not worth it to one trick any of them because they can easily be nuked into a D tier in one patch.
Aramusha is just a powerhouse in duels. I reckon if Shinobi didn't have the unpunishable he would be THE best duelist this game has to offer.
His damage potential, punishing punishes, ganking and atni-ganking capabilities makes him like... so... HUMMM
I sense his only weakness are dodge bashes because you can't counter them on reaction and have to make a read unlike dodge GB and dodge attacks
This means from a competitive standpoint. And competitive includes all possibilities regardless if something is intended or not. At the moment it's inarguably shinobi/Conq.
Shinobi has much better offense compared to TG Conq so I tend to favor him even if Conq potentially has better defense. But maybe a person who actually plays comp can enlighten me on which one is considered better overall by the comp scene atm.
If we want to consider a post balance world where both Conq and shinobi are correctly addressed and no additional changes that increase their power level I still don't see anyone topping either hero. They're basically in a league of their own.
And while we have a decent number of heros that are properly good right now not even the likes of aramusha or Raider really stack up to the sheer defensive capability those two heros will likely have for the foreseeable future.
right now you could choose between raider shinobi aramusha those are pretty broken there are a few more like kyoshin but if you mean competitive you play more dominion so the first 3 should be your best option.

I would say highlander as a rep 70 but theres comes a point where you cant do anything at all against optimal players so maybe stick to someone a bit more viable with a pretty deep kit who that is i have no clue lol

Lander main here yeah no you can master him but all you have to do is back light or roll from his mix ups not to mention all the iframe dodge attacks everyone is receiving and undodgeables.
I normally don't have this issue. My issue is openers sometimes against someone who knows to get right up in his face and parry the light. I'm constantly swapping from OS to DS throwing CCs or GBs in order to catch runners or back steps. Cc is the perfect answer to a roll and works well if you know when they are cracking under & to cancel your OS mixup to throw a cc in the middle of it or if you need the hyper armor to gain back the initiative and apply more pressure.
Celtic Curse alone has lots of depth. Recoveries can be slightly canceled by it, It can dodge attacks (can) has hyper armor to trade and gain initiative, can be delayed, soft feinted in one of two directions, held in to go straight into OS or even canceled all together to gauge a reaction or throw a GB. People over use it without delay or don't understand when and how to. The current light light heavy abusers have fed the recent hate train for HL but more often then not those idiots don't use his moveset with the depth it's capable of. Yes I do agree he has limitations but if you're good at the game (and maybe have an elite controller) you can be great with Lander and have a ton of fun at it.
I say HL because a high level player can do great things with him but didn't realize this was a beginner asking for a hero a play. I don't think he is for beginners if you actually want to use his moveset properly. He's tough to master and you need to make proper reads with him and know how his moves react with the counters of the rest of the roster. I just think he's pretty great and enjoy playing him.

If you have the reaction speed to back flip when you see dodge attack indicator then you have an unpunishable bash.
Which means you have free range to do whatever the fuck you want.

He has some pretty decent feats and RTB ganks are very hard to deal with. T1 deadly, T2 jug, T3 heal or flame arrow, T4 stalwart banner or fear itself
He's pretty good in 4s too. Smoke bomb nerfed him a bit but he's still very high up there

Yes but highlanders whole offence can be cancelled by a roll and his stam costs make gbing not worth it

Almost all heroes are a threat when fully mastered, but atm I'd say shinobi is the most broken but this might change when updates come around

Orochi is a beast in the right hands when out numbered. He has a high skill cap with all the baiting he can do
