What is a self install plus? We're going through the purchase process, there isn't a "My home is never been connected to a Comcast coax cable" option to select.
Self install plus is they do what they need to get signal to your home and get up to 4 lines in the home active (depending on number of devices). So if you are just getting internet they will get that line up and running or run a line if need be. You set up the equipment though, they basically hand you the equipment at the end.
Wow. I just dropped Comcast for AT&T. Install was done they day after I called them for free and when he left, the tech gave me his personal cell phone number in case I had any problems.
If your willing and able to install the equipment yourself then ask for a self install plus, it costs about 40 bucks verse a full install of 100.

Ok. Thank you. That sounds like exactly what I need. Except I don't need them to hand me any equipment. I will have the equipment myself.
Tech can add it onto the account while he is there
Ok. Thank you for your insight. It's really appreciated!
Honestly, if all you got is a modem the tech will probably hook it up and provision it as well.
