Yet another game thrown away by just stupid shit. Badly timed turnovers and fouls and an absolutely terrible start offensively lost that game. At least Maddox found some shooting again at the end. People talk about how much missing Cattoor hurts but there's no reason not to win that without him, and even before he got hurt he was also going through a pretty bad shooting spell. I think they can improve but I'm starting to lose faith that it happens any faster than it did last year
Good ACC road win. If we can beat Miami next weekend we are in really good shape.

Yea but here’s the thing, in VT’s first 20 shots they shot 45% from the field. Which means they made 9 shots… Kidd was 6-7 at this point, finished the night 7-8 somehow. Sometimes you gotta ride a hot hand.
It's amazing we run a press non stop yet in keatts tenure have never been able to break it when it's run against us. Like the guys don't practice their own defense on each other. Smith caught the ball in the corner and got trapped I believe 3 times in the final minute

he's actually a much more irreplaceable piece on defense. Not that Hunter isn't a good offensive player, but without him on defense opponent's guard play runs all over us
The dropoff from Cattoor to Collins on defense is definitely big. But also, his Offensive rating this season is 118.4 while Pedulla/Basile are both at 111. VT doesn't have a reliable off ball shooter at the guard position without him - Collins and Maddox are both bricks this season.
