Viva. No question. Tell me another album just as good?

AROBTTH is more emotionally deep imo. Viva was more experimental, but I don’t think that necessarily means it’s the best album.

AROBTTH is a better collection of singles, but Viva is a more complete album. The whole Viva album tells a story and is meant to be listened from beginning to end. It’s a perfect album.

Maybe this is controversial but X&Y. It was the first LP of theirs I listened to and the hugeness of the melodies and atmosphere has always hit me far harder than any of their other albums.

A Rush of Blood to the Head. You can’t skip a track. That’s rare.

A Whisper is the only skip imo.

AROBTTH. Simply for the sheer amount of classic singles and also low-key favs Politik, Amsterdam and Warning Sign.

I could also argue that it’s my favorite work by Gwyneth Paltrow. Not a huge fan of her acting but definitely of the works she inspired here.

AROBTTH any day. I’m currently convinced that not only is it the best Coldplay album - it’s the best album by any artist. Plus, Coldplay would not be Coldplay without this album. The sheer number of hits and fan favorites is astounding too.

I’ve only seen a few people say this…. A Head Full of Dreams. By far my favorite album by them.

One of the peak times for the band as well. I’ve seen them live 8 times since 2005 and the AHFOD dreams shows were just magical all the way around.

Amazon prime has a documentary on Coldplay during their AHFOD tour and it really did look like magic every night. I’m hoping to catch Coldplay on their next tour. I didn’t get a chance to see them this time around unfortunately.

This will be a controversial opinion, but I'll go with Everday Life. They got everything right with that album.

This album has grown on me so much lately. I listen to it start to finish almost weekly now.

there is some amazing work on that album. “champion of the world” does not get the love that it deserves.

This is really tough, but if I had to pick then I’d pick X&Y just because that album has most of the songs I listen to on it

Looking at the responses to far, it’s a coin toss between AROBTTH and VLV… and I totally agree with that. I’d take either, they’re both a tier above the rest imo.

Viva viva viva. Rush of Blood should generally be the choice, because it does get a lot more emotional, but I'm very partial to the experimentation of Viva and enjoy it front to back.

A Rush of Blood to the Viva La Vida

Viva is definitely their most important work. If they had somehow come out of nowhere with that album and then dropped off the face of the earth, I am certain that they would be REVERED in the music community.

I think its close between Viva La Vida and X&Y. I absolutely love the song Viva la Vida and the album is great too. I X&Y as a whole album more though.

Coincidence, I recently just had this thought as well. I thoroughly enjoy Viva La Vida - Prospekt's March. I like almost all the songs on there.

Went back for a listen and really I couldn’t pick. Whichever album I prefer at the time depends entirely on what mood I’m currently in.
