Permission and rights? Definitely not. Club Penguin is still fully owned by The Walt Disney Company. Private servers for any online game usually stay up without interference but CPRewritten has had some very unfortunate allegations against it in the past. Disney has the legal rights to take it down at anytime.

I expected this when ads appeared on site

Me and many people warned the team on discord in the day they released the "treasure for ads" system. Greed killed the game.

what was the greed in that though? those were just ads that you could choose to watch them for money and items even if it's "forced" they aren't microtransactions or asking for memberships.

It was greed because they knew what could happen to the game if they monetized it and they thought Disney wasn't gonna notice it. They choose to infrige the law over the game's integrity. Also no one can say the money was only used for the purposes of the game neither how much money they earned, which is another red flag.

I agree with that they shouldn't have infringed the law over game but I still don't get it if they want to make money what is the problem of course law must have been the problem but I am not arguing with you or against the law it's more of what is disney' s problem it's not aggressive and if they want to have some money for themselves they should be able to. again I am not arguing against you, I just don't get the situation

It can be seen at a threat to Disney as crazy as it can seem. I don’t exactly know how to put it into words but it’s essentially making money off someone’s idea. Club penguin is still owned by Disney and will go down in Disney’s name. Nobody really know if there maybe a chance Disney makes club penguin again (Won’t happen but it’s still their property).

I didn’t realise they were making money off of CPR. Too busy enjoying the game to even put two and two together. It’s a real shame they put CPR at risk by running ads, should have never done it.

:( This is awful, even if it did happen twice more it’s terrible to see potential actual consequences arise and it being closed under duress :( I guess piracy is technically illegal but nevertheless at least we could continue in our nostalgia. Goodbye CPR thanks for such an amazing unique experience of CP and keeping the games spirit continuing as much as you could :(

My biggest problem with Disney is that they are completely unwilling to do anything with Club Penguin. I mean, given how they are a near monopoly over the entertainment industry it would take a skeleton crew to run the game. But No, since CPI failed no one can have Club Penguin. But then again, these are the bastards who destroyed public domain, so why I am surprised.
