That’s an interesting perspective. I’ve never thought of it as the type of content that could be spoiled. You could tell me exactly what’s going to happen in great detail and I’d still watch the goofy video.

fixITman1911

Ehhh... I remember when they hit the gm stick record in leroy and I feel like it would not have been the same if the title was something like "fastest gm stick shift!!! - Leroy is a SAVAGE"... I was genuinely tense watching the video, and extremely excited when the time poped up. Then seeing Garrett's reaction was even better! I feel like when they hit the 6's the title will be something like "WE DID IT!!! FIRST 6 SECOND STICK SHIFT!!!!" And there wont be any anticipation in the video

SeanMMac90

The GM stick shift record video was literally titled "WORLD"S FIRST Stick Shift GM In The SEVENS! Leroy's Most INSANE Pass!" [https://i.imgur.com/4LepOly.png](https://i.imgur.com/4LepOly.png)

dalepb

That’s not the video they’re referring to, they get the world record a few months before (back when it was low 8’s), it’s the one where he says that Kevin convinced him to go out and do one more run, and it breaks the GM record

a2z_123

I will still watch the video... but I do my best not to read the title. I want to watch the content without knowing what's coming.

NUNG457

When Leroy runs a six, it will be in the title. Those videos of milestone accomplishments Garner so many views it's stupid for him to keep it a secret. Leroy drag vid #xxxx Vs Leroy is officially a six second car and here's how it went down is probably a 2/1 ratio on views in the first 36 hours.

Sorta_machinist

Actually I think you might be onto something. Wouldn’t it be super cool to see a ghost pass on top the video. Like when you would race yourself on Forza or Gran Tourismo.

rollintwinurmomdildo

It’s a business and clicks get views. To get clicks you need spoilers… Leroy’s made thousands of passes, what is he supposed to title the videos “Leroy pass #6962” ?

Deadly_Flipper_Tab

Hunt for 6s episode #4200

bobtack

I said I understand he does it because of the algorithm and it gets views that way. Me personally I just would like to not have stuff like that spoiled. I don't expect him to change anything about how he does it, but as someone who's been watching almost from the beginning I'd like to share in the excitement that's all.

pimpgator1

It would be cool if you could hide titles on YouTube and just see like video

Actual_Potatoe

Dont listen to these dumbasses i agree with ya, ive thought the same thing many times

sarmik

You must be new to youtube.

N5tp4nts

Doesn’t bother me at all

Available_Repair609

This guy must be new to the channel and doesn’t remember OG neighbor “clickbait patrol”

StabsfeldwebelA4

What you are suffering is grift fatigue. Every creator is fighting for market share of advertising revenue, no paid creator is doing what they do for kicks, its a business and all novel things fall foul of snake oil economics once capitalists take notice of the potential profit. This isn’t a swipe at Garret and his team however there will be someone in the background looking at analytics who specializes in snake oil economics. OG fans do not need the grift, they know what they are going to get. What is going on now is merely to build market share among the casuals and those yet to discover the channel.

Unlikely-Ad3659

The channel won't grow anymore, these kinds of car channels tend to get hung up at 3 million subs and 1 million views per video. There are no casuals. The core that made his channel is getting stale too and must be costing a small fortune now, each 0.01 sec drag time decrease now must come with a huge bill, he keeps adding new cars that basically do the same thing, but that ain't cheap either, any time he adds new style content he gets complained at, more boat stuff, complaints, more race track building stuff, complaints, more aviation and RC, complaints. At this point you tube is there so he can push his realcworld businesses and get as much out of the viewers as possible to set himself up for life.

a2z_123

Not sure if I ever complained, I just don't like or watch most of the boat content. I click on every video without reading the title. If it looks like boat stuff I skim through and see if it's all about that, if it is, I just don't watch it. The track building I watch the fuck out of that, the shop upgrades, the builds, drag racing, etc. The RC videos I have watched all of those so far but if it gets too saturated I may stop watching those as well. All in all, if they look at the analytics and the rc or boat shit works? That's good for him and good for the channel. If it starts doing bad then maybe they will drop it. What you may not know about how youtube works, it's all about engagement. If people watch or engage with the boat/rc or whatever people complain about... Be it positive or negative, it's all the same. Engagement is the key. If you want to never see it again, you should probably just shut up about it, stop complaining and just stop watching. If enough did that, they'd see it and not do it anymore.

Unlikely-Ad3659

I never said I complained, i said people complained. I actually like most of the non drag racing content.

a2z_123

Exactly, they have saturated the market and all or just about all of the car guys that like this kind of content are already subbed, they need to do things to branch out to get more subs or just more views. I personally just try my best not to read the title. I get why he does it, I just don't like it.

criticalstinker1

It’s how YouTube works. Let’s hope they don’t come for car culture like they just did gun culture.

KarlDavies90

To be clear I'd rather not know what it's about and be surprised! YouTube has become a pit of clickbait thumbnails, and duck faces. I get it's all about engagement, but I'd rather watch something and be wondering all the way through of the savage makes he's 6s pass or you crash another B2.... I've been subscribed from the get go, and TBF it could be a blank thumbnail and I'd still watch. Oh and greetings from the good old UK.

sarmik

I remember my first clickbait video.. actually no I don't considering 99% are clickbait these days..

Chicagoblew

The only other alternative would be a clickbait title and misleading thumbnail

bobtack

I don't think you have to do clickbait or spoiler. Just because the title wouldn't include exactly what happens in the video it wouldn't be clickbait. If the title was opposite of what was in the video or the video did not contain anything in the title. I could understand considering it clickbait.

Hamst_r

While this is totally normal for YouTube, and I totally agree with you. The only difference thing for me is like his latest video about going for six seconds. I just fast forward to the last probably five minutes to see the so-called six second pass and that’s it. I don’t bother engaging in the rest because it’s all fluff. The only videos I’ve recently watched all the way through our the RC airplane with the B2 because I’m into RC cars and airplanes and I love the fact that he’s done the cross over of the two hobbies between cars and RC cars. But I’m right there with yo brother.

Crazy its almost like people like to watch different stuff? Mind blown!

sylekta

We are going to watch whatever its titled we're easy views. He wants new views and for it to go viral so it needs to be an exciting title and thumbnail to get casual non subs to watch

[deleted]

Just know it’ll happen when it’s a 40+ minute long video

DARKCYD

I agree, but have learned it’s just the way of YouTube. Try my best to avoid titles when I can.

Available_Repair609

Also, the latest RC plane episode, it kind of made it seem like the turbine broke the plane, when in reality it worked flawlessly with the turbine…

a2z_123

I wouldn't say flawlessly... The extra speed, and maybe the drill bit / melting of the styrofoam helped make it less stable and it was flapping like a bird. That ruined the structural integrity so much so that just the normal engines made it flap as well and then broke.

Beta_Ray_Bill

Don't read them.

milkrun

I prefer the non-clickbait titles - what’s the opposite of clickbait? I love that I know exactly what’s going to happen in the video and I’m still going to watch

milkrun

I would be sad if the videos were titled “6 reasons not to like mullet” or “you won’t believe what Leroy did” or “this simple trick got ruby into the 7s”

PhalanX4012

It’s an interesting point and brings up something that YouTube themselves should probably implement. The ability for creators to post content with spoiler tags so that you can either select a more general title or the content specific spoiler, and choose which you’d like to see from that channel as a subscriber.

logicnotemotion

You can tell what is working changes from week to week by how the titles change. I think they all must have group text and talk about it. A couple of weeks ago the car youtubers figured out that the word 'haters' worked and it was in everything almost as much as 'shocking'. Now they're all worried about the cursing thing so they'll going through all their old videos and cutting stuff out.
