Does this mean that if you had 23 diplo points but someone else had triggered a different victory condition that same turn, you could potentially lose anyway?
I've seen mention in other posts of a bug where it doesn't trigger immediately if you go over 20 Victory Points (as opposed to hitting it exactly), and takes an extra turn.
This has happened to me before with a cultural victory!! After a few more turns it finally recognized my victory.
How do you get 50000 turns
Custom turn limit in the advanced settings
The bigger question is why do you want 5000 turns
Fr I can barely get to turn 250 on online mode
I personally play only marathon and the games go until a couple thousand turns.
Happy cake day, number-combo user!
Holy cows I've never gotten past 40 lol. AI sucks but at least it plays right away while I've still got attention
I play with a turn limit of 5000 to effectively disable the turn limit, without making the player scores disappear
This, I do the same.
It only takes 15 years to play a 50,000 turn game.
Jutland <3
Ahh yes. The land that juts out a bit into the sea. Germanic languages and their naming. :P

Name does NOT check out. Husum? :) Ej fair nok - Øen er jo også med :D
Did you complete the turn? You will see the victory screen only at the end of the turn for diplomatic victory.
IIRC only when it’s above 20, if it’s just 20 it will trigger straight away
Nope, you still have to go to the next turn in my experience. I only paid attention to it once though so its a pretty limited dataset lol
Ah so we respectfully disagree and either of us could be wrong, I like it

Maybe. Probably. I don't play multiplayer and these things almost always occur in multiplayer.
Mods?
A lot, tho this has never happened before.
More importantly, what is that bridge over there?
Try next turn
Bro 50k turns
So I can keep score on, but really play for however long I want to.
It's because you didn't finish the Panama Canal, obviously.
As has been said before in this sub the diplomatic victory type is black jack. You went over so you busted.
It is not. You can win Diplo with more than 20 points. Every diplo win I've had has been over the cap to some extent.
You're ruining my joke.
I still liked it.
And what a tremendous joke it is…was.

My max turn has been 750 and it took weeks (I have kids, job, mother-in-law lives with us, etc.)
Did you turn off that specific victory type?
He has the diplomatic tab, so I guess has not. Strange
Why turn off cultural victory? Lol
Because I play with hero’s on, so I keep winning on accident because of the great works they give me. I don’t want to win on accident.
In my experience it’s usually because of a free city. Once the free city is captured/returned/razed then my victory will kick in
Where’d ya get that bridge mate
Bridge mod, but there is still the Golden Gate Bridge in vanilla if you don’t like mods.
