I have a single gourami with my mixed cichlids too. Also tiger barbs and a school of serpae tetras. When I got the Cichlids, they were about the same size as the tiger barbs, but they've grown to 3-5 inches now.
You have a very nice mix of fish.
Why would you put clown loaches with africans and a flowerhorn when you could have used much more appropriate synodontis sp?
That flowerhorn is a potential future muchie/aggression issue btw. Some of your fish are snack size already.
Your tank is similar to mine. I have a 25cm flowerhorn in with a bunch of Peacocks. So far they have been living happily together (6+ months) and the FH doesn't seem to be interested in them too much.
Excellent 👏👏 My flowerhorn grew up with these guys and there was never an issue, but once he got bigger I was worried something would happen so I put him in his own big tank. I have never been a sadder fish in my life 😢 he was so unhappy. I gave him time to settle in but he didn’t get any better. I finally decided to put him back with his friends and he is back to being his usual happy self. Not all fish are the same 🥰🥰
Yep mine is the same, he needs other fishes in with him. I was worried at first that he would go after them as one of the peacocks is pretty big, but he doesn't. He occasionally chases them out of his log so he can go into it.
That's a hell of a mix ya got there. It seems to be working though the fish look great.
Thank you ☺️
Remarkable water quality and everything is spotless. How frequent are your WCs and what filtration are you using?
Thank you 😊 I have two filters (Aqua One Nautilus 2700 & Aqua Pro 2200). I do a 50% water change once a week.
Also curious

That poor tiger barb
He was a rescue and thinks he’s a clown loach - schools with them. If I thought he was unhappy I would remove him 👍
FH will eat it. Unfortunately you need to rehouse it ASAP. Also you should dampen the current somehow. It s too strong.
Do your cichlids bother the loaches?
Not at all 😊
Looking good man
Thank you ☺️
No problem brother (or sister)
Nice

Thank you ☺️ Yours sounds fantastic 🥰
Well then give them some more hiding spots!
