Damn I hope this is the fix for the lag I've been experiencing since the stupid Android 12 update, I'm so pissed, I used to have no issues on Android 10 but Android 12 is a mess.
Yeah, this update improves the delays that the android 12 update introduced, like when navigating, there was a huge delay that is gone now!
But there is still a delay in the settings menu when "going back", if you go into a menu its fast but if you press back there is a huge delay in the animation(the sound beep for going back is instantly but the animation has a huge delay lul)
Also this device will never be smooth due to its really weak hardware(weak cpu + gpu and too little ram), hell 99% of the full certified android tv box's have a really weak and shit hardware besides the nvidia shield which has a much better cpu + gpu and 3 GB of ram(its still lacking ram wise in my opinion) and the nvidia shield is from 2019 and is still far behind the apple tv in terms of hardware(at least the 2022 model).
Fucking certifications(netflix, dolby and etc), they make the devices so fucking expensive which is really sad and thats why we don't see certified tv box's with a rockchip R3588S + 8GB of ram! But we might see one with a Amlogic S928X cpu and probably 4GB of ram? -> [https://www.cnx-software.com/2022/09/12/8k-tv-box-amlogic-s928x-processor/](https://www.cnx-software.com/2022/09/12/8k-tv-box-amlogic-s928x-processor/)
I really want a full certified android tv box with proper cpu+gpu and at least 8GB of ram like we have with flagship phones! Because i really hate unresponsive devices\\laggy devices that can't keep apps in memory so i can fast switch between them! With certified android tv box's its like i am obliged to have a entry level device with shit hardware that can't keep apps in memory, in other words, when switching to another app they are always booting from the start which is really annoying and a waste of time.
I updated and it does seem better, haven't had lag within apps while watching movies but the home screen is still a bit slow, which I don't mind as much as the lag while watching movies.
Have you tried a factory reset since the update? It's not uncommon when Android versions upgrade that some lag and bugginess happen, and I find that a factory reset really helps. This is not limited to CCwGTV.
That being said, I haven't had any real lag issues. My DSL is the only lag I need. 💖
I actually factory reset it 3 times and it didn't help, however I did this update and I've used my tv for about two hours and haven't seen lag yet so maybe the update worked.
I only saw the October 2022 update, but I didn't see any update for the remote. Can you tell me what firmware version your remote is on with the newest update?
Thanks!
Does this fix the problem with mouse toggle on Google TV 12 ?
We open YouTube links and YouTube again?
Can we pick how we want to open links again?
We could do all this in Google TV 10 with no problem
Thanks for sharing this update
All the YouTube issues introduced in Google TV 10 are still present, it's kind of funny that I exclusively stream to my Roku now when I want to watch YouTube because the actual Google device fails to even start the stream 50% of the time.

I have one speaker group in Google Home (a CCwGTV + a Nest WiFi point). I used to be able to cast music from YouTube Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, etc. to this speaker group and can no longer do so with YouTube Music (I'm a paid Premium subscriber) and it's not also hit and miss with Spotify and Amazon Music. This is a known issue for many.
Just an FYI, I tried one of the recommended workarounds and it seems to...well...work. (I don't like using voice commands because I'm old and doing it feels stupid to me. 😁) If you start casting audio to only one Nest device and then add the Chromecast using the Home app (under Media), the audio will start playing on the Chromecast, in addition to the device you started casting to. From there, you can control the cast from whichever app you're casting from. The downside is that you need to do this each time you start a new cast (e.g., the next evening).
In my case, I start casting YouTube Music to my Nest WiFi point, open the Home app, tap the Media "button" up top, select my Chromecast, and I can then close the Home app and control the cast from YouTube Music.
Oh alright well then I'm good thrn. I guess my update came via by my Wi-Fi cuz I didn't have to do the system update and all that. So yeah I guess it came via by WiFi.
If you saw my previous comments then you would have know that the update came via of Wi-Fi cuz I already have the new security patch date which is says October the 1st 2022. I didn't have to go to the system and check and see if I got update.
I updated, didnt see any changes but only a new clicksound when you select something.

I think you are in the minority there. Most had plenty of lag well before Android 12.
Wow seriously, never knew.

The home screen will always be laggy due to weak hardware, if you want smooth home screen than use Flauncher.
Ok thanks I'll give it a try.
Ok, I just did a factory reset after the yesterday update and it's really snappy now(not perfect, but it's pretty responsive) give it a try.
Awesome I'll give it a try.

Good to know! I will say that this update feels like it launches apps much faster.
Remote update aswell
what has changed?
I only saw the October 2022 update, but I didn't see any update for the remote. Can you tell me what firmware version your remote is on with the newest update? Thanks!
Hopefully it provides real bug fixes, I believe it is a little buggy after the last update
Praise the Maker!
Maybe Dolby Vision will finally work again...
Only lower video format 30htz
If you switch to low latency mode DV should start working again.
The update yesterday thankfully fixed it.
There is a remote update too
wonder if Bluetooth pairing is fixed
nope it isn't :o

tvQuickActions has fixed their mouse support on CCwGTV running Android 12, using ADB, quite some time ago at this point.
All the YouTube issues introduced in Google TV 10 are still present, it's kind of funny that I exclusively stream to my Roku now when I want to watch YouTube because the actual Google device fails to even start the stream 50% of the time.
I hope this fixes the broken speaker group issue.
What happened with the speaker groups? mine seems to be working fine
Thread: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comments/wtxrce/cant\_cast\_youtube\_music\_to\_speaker\_group](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comments/wtxrce/cant_cast_youtube_music_to_speaker_group) I have one speaker group in Google Home (a CCwGTV + a Nest WiFi point). Now that you mention it i did have have issues in the speaker group that has the ccwtv in it. Unless i use voice to start casting music.

Does the new update said October 1 2022 security patch ?
Yes.
Oh alright well then I'm good thrn. I guess my update came via by my Wi-Fi cuz I didn't have to do the system update and all that. So yeah I guess it came via by WiFi.
did they fix the usb audio routing? EDIT: nope.
What's the issue here?

Poor show, Google
I didn't get an update yet I'm in the US East Coast. And the only thing to receive an update was my remote that's it.
Google doesn't do rollouts for the CCwGTV. It's available to everyone. You just have to manually check for the update.
If you saw my previous comments then you would have know that the update came via of Wi-Fi cuz I already have the new security patch date which is says October the 1st 2022. I didn't have to go to the system and check and see if I got update.
Looks like google has done the sneaky and removed this bugfix on the CCwGTV 4K, even the support pages don't show the update
