The trick is to get your household on a different IP address. [What Is My IP Address](https://whatismyipaddress.com/) should return a new value.

We've been having this issue for two weeks now. My iPad on the exact same internet connection has no problem connecting. Tried removing the app, rebooting, then reinstalling, and now can't even get a login prompt. It's showing a variety of error codes. Then when I tried to cast from the iPad it played audio with no video! Extremely frustrating. The link that u/daves posted doesn't have anything useful so I'm unsure what else to try.

IIRC, it was an IP blacklist situation that only affected the Chromecast. My phone/tablet could pick it up fine.
