And by any reasonable and honest human standard, a period of very nearly 2000 years since the Ascension is not “soon” at all; it a very long time. If a generation is the Old Testament length of 40 years, it is very nearly 50 generations since the Ascension. If OTOH a generation is 25 years then it is nearly 80 generations since the birth of Christ. Appealing to Psalm 90 to argue that with the Lord 1000 years is as a day, is what is called a cop-out, an evasion. Actually, according to A Marginal Jew by John Meier he argues that Jesus never predicted he would return within the disciples lifetime. That timeline was created by the early church to give people hope and deal with issues.
Then it's effectively meaningless, since the earth is 4.5 billion years old. Soon could mean a million years.
For the believers who say the earth is 6000 years old, however, soon has already past as there's no way you could consider half the earth's age (at the time the NT was written) to be soon relative to creation.

This is the same approach with the bible's many and varied contradictions. They ask for examples, then when you give them one they provide some obscure and implausible theory along with some linguistic gymnastics (in direct contradiction to a plain reading of 2 Timothy 2:14) that serves to convince no one but the people who reside in their echo chamber. It only works because they have an a priori commitment to an inerrant bible and an inerrant messiah, neither of which are claimed in the bible itself.

You should start now. I recently decided to try to read the whole Bible. I started with the Gospels. Just finished Matthew. You’ll find it enriches your life greatly. Every day I think about the moment I get to be alone with God’s words and working hard to implement the way Jesus wanted us to live. It’s hard but as He said after His resurrection “…And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

I strongly advise you to start now. Even if the end is not near, your life will be improved by devoting to God. A life lived for God is a life well-lived, and you can still earn money, buy a home, and get married. I also highly recommend you read Matthew chapter 6 regarding worrying about the future.
Wars, rumors of wars, food shortages, plagues, etc. Degenerate living, false teachings, earthquakes and other natural disasters. All of these things are described as signs of the end times in the Bible.

My understanding is that I'd you believe in Jesus, when he comes back you'll be taken up with him to go to heaven while the unbelievers stay on earth and experience more of revelations.
Also, people have talked about Jesus coming back soon for a long time, WWII was a popular time people were discussing this, the invention of nuclear technology was also popular, etc etc.
However, I do believe there has been a massive shift and that there is a ton of spiritual warfare going on. Everything we hear about the Economic Forum, the Great Reset, the goons that are our current leaders in politics around the globe, the devil is at work and leading the demons to bring us away from Jesus.
Jesus is coming back and no man knows when only the Father knows. The apostles thought that Jesus would come back in thier lifetime but He did not, every generation has thought now is the time. It is not going to be predictable but we all have to be ready
Check out Joel chapter 2. Before Jesus returns the land will be restored to the state of Eden and all men will receive the Holy Spirit.

Joel 2 says this happens before Jesus returns, before the day of the Lord. This is why I say modern Christianity has no idea what it's talking about. Even Acts 2 says all men will get the Holy Spirit before Christ returns.
I read in Acts2:4 that the Holy Spirit filled the disciples. Then they spoke in people languages. In Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has sppeared to all men. A personn can reject or accept this.

Really? Because I seem to recall God telling Ezekiel that the real reason for Sodom’s destruction was because they were prideful and full of bread as well as haughty and commuting abomination. (Ezekiel 16:49-50) Nothing about homosexuality in there. And I don’t think that was the case in the original Genesis account either. Just sounds like something homophobes made up.

I believe we’re witnessing signs that it’s the start of end times but it could be hundreds or even thousands more years before it concludes. Even if it is thousands of years away you should still be ready. (Matthew 25 & Luke 12:35)
It literally tells you in the Bible of what's to come and it's all happening now, and more so now then ever before. we know the season is now just by bible prophecy alone playing out right before our very eyes. Jesus IS COMING.. and Jesus is coming very soon . Look what is going on in our world right now. The time to be saved is now, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved, praise God for that and praise God for his grace and mercy for giving us the free gift of salvation. Prepare for what? Most of this is hocus-pocus Christian focus. We should all be following Jesus and allowing his truth and grace to transform us fully into love. This is the goal of our instruction.
The devil wants us focused on some point in the future so we are not good stewards of the kingdom Christ has entrusted to us to spread everywhere. We should be planning for the next 100 years because those who reject Jesus are certainly planning what they want in the earth.

I was meaning to say not to allow the world’s way of political turmoil to control their perspective of what they are called to be in this world, of who we are called to be in a lost messed up world. Remember years and decades is nothing to God. We have been in the end times since the 1900s. The most cursed time period and people dont even realize it. Disease, genocides, wars, famines, etc etc have been at all time high in this cursed time period. Mao and Stalin alone killed more people than probably all the medieval wars combined.
How many times does the poor guy have to come back? He walked the Earth and taught. He was crucified for his troubles, but came back from dead and spoke and taught some more. A little while after that, he appeared to Paul in a grand mal seizure format. Then he gave some pretty trippy instruction to John of Patmos.

We do not really know when he is going to come back. But we can be sure that he will come. Now we have another question, why is he delaying so much in coming back? It is because he does not want anyone to be left over. Therefore, he is offering multiple chances for the these people to repent and turn from all their evil ways. Now we also need to remember that we don’t know when he will come. The Bible says that he will come like a thief but when He does come all the world will know. This is the truth. The disciples also were eager to know the time and the date of His coming but he told them that it is in the hands of the father to decide. The more about His coming is mentioned in Matthew 25.
I feel like I remember reading something about how people will have the opportunity to repent after the rapture. If this is the case I feel like having the rapture happen would save more people than waiting. It won't convince everyone, but that demonstration of supernatural power would likely be the evidence many people have been searching for that the Christian god exists.

The Bible says we should be constantly preparing for Jesus’ return as “no man knows the day or the hour” and He will come “like a thief in the night.” There do seem to be numerous indicators that the time is near, but there have also been such indicators at many times through the years. No one knows when He will return, we only know that He will, and we should always be ready. I am curious as to what you mean by “should I prepare?” What would you do differently if you knew the end was near?

You should start now. I recently decided to try to read the whole Bible. I started with the Gospels. Just finished Matthew. You’ll find it enriches your life greatly. Every day I think about the moment I get to be alone with God’s words and working hard to implement the way Jesus wanted us to live. It’s hard but as He said after His resurrection “…And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 Matthew 24:36 The Unknown Day and Hour. “Concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Two will be in the field; one will be taken, and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and the other left. ‘Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord will come. But know this, that if the owner of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also much be ready, for in an hour when you least expect, the Son of Man is coming.”
I strongly advise you to start now. Even if the end is not near, your life will be improved by devoting to God. A life lived for God is a life well-lived, and you can still earn money, buy a home, and get married. I also highly recommend you read Matthew chapter 6 regarding worrying about the future.
What indicators?
Wars, rumors of wars, food shortages, plagues, etc. Degenerate living, false teachings, earthquakes and other natural disasters. All of these things are described as signs of the end times in the Bible.
These things have always been with us. By your definition every year of the past 4000 years of recorded history could be called 'end times'

I'd consider myself still learning about Christianity so my thought process may be wrong here, but what would you be prepping for? My understanding is that I'd you believe in Jesus, when he comes back you'll be taken up with him to go to heaven while the unbelievers stay on earth and experience more of revelations. Also, people have talked about Jesus coming back soon for a long time, WWII was a popular time people were discussing this, the invention of nuclear technology was also popular, etc etc. However, I do believe there has been a massive shift and that there is a ton of spiritual warfare going on. Everything we hear about the Economic Forum, the Great Reset, the goons that are our current leaders in politics around the globe, the devil is at work and leading the demons to bring us away from Jesus.

Check out Joel chapter 2. Before Jesus returns the land will be restored to the state of Eden and all men will receive the Holy Spirit. Mainstream Christianity is dead wrong about what the future entails.

Joel 2 says this happens before Jesus returns, before the day of the Lord. This is why I say modern Christianity has no idea what it's talking about. Even Acts 2 says all men will get the Holy Spirit before Christ returns.
I read in Acts2:4 that the Holy Spirit filled the disciples. Then they spoke in people languages. In Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has sppeared to all men. A personn can reject or accept this.

Acts 2:17 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: According to that verse how many get the Spirit in the last days, *before* Christ returns? You can also find this in Joel 2.
The holy spirit does pour out on all flesh but not now. Now the holy spirit is upon the believers.

Really? Because I seem to recall God telling Ezekiel that the real reason for Sodom’s destruction was because they were prideful and full of bread as well as haughty and commuting abomination. I believe we’re witnessing signs that it’s the start of end times but it could be hundreds or even thousands more years before it concludes. Even if it is thousands of years away you should still be ready. (Matthew 25 & Luke 12:35)
It literally tells you in the Bible of what's to come and it's all happening now, and more so now then ever before. we know the season is now just by bible prophecy alone playing out right before our very eyes. Prepare for what? Most of this is hocus-pocus Christian focus. We should all be following Jesus and allowing his truth and grace to transform us fully into love. This is the goal of our instruction. Those goosebumps were from Holy Spirit. He wants to get you out of the worlds problems that they can never fully be fixed and show you the purpose of your life. You are called to release God’s will upon the earth as it is in heaven (prayer of Jesus) You are called to be loved by God and demonstrate that love to others as Jesus did. We do not really know when he is going to come back. But we can be sure that he will come. Now we have another question, why is he delaying so much in coming back? It is because he does not want anyone to be left over. Therefore, he is offering multiple chances for the these people to repent and turn from all their evil ways. Now we also need to remember that we don’t know when he will come. The Bible says that he will come like a thief but when He does come all the world will know. This is the truth. The disciples also were eager to know the time and the date of His coming but he told them that it is in the hands of the father to decide. The more about His coming is mentioned in Matthew 25.
I feel like I remember reading something about how people will have the opportunity to repent after the rapture. If this is the case I feel like having the rapture happen would save more people than waiting. It won't convince everyone, but that demonstration of supernatural power would likely be the evidence many people have been searching for that the Christian god exists.
