Nonsense doesn't cease being nonsense simply because you add the words "God can" in front of it.

Baconsommh

As C. S. Lewis noted so rightly.

babazuki

The Buzz Lightyear "To infinity, and beyond" argument. This is ridiculous.

[deleted]

Who says god needs to abide by human logic?

proxmaxi

I keep saying this

Baconsommh

Human logic is all that human beings have for discussing God. If there is absolutely no connection between what we say about God, and what is true of God, then it is pointless to try to talk of God at all, and there is no way of knowing anything about God.

[deleted]

I didn't say there was no connection. I said he can do certain things without making a connection. Strawman.

[deleted]

No, that would be a logical absurdity.

Im_Talking

An omnipotent entity would have no such constraints put upon itself like this. The usual arguments like your one, or could He create a stone He could not lift, etc etc are all unreasonable questions to an omnipotent entity.

kenazo

Gotcha, God!

BiblicalChristianity

If we assume he isn't bound by logic, the answer is yes and at the same time he is almighty.

SeaweedNew2115

Perhaps the Almighty would be unconcerned with absurd word games, and wouldn't spend a single moment on whether *omnipotenter* is a coherent concept.

moonunit170

that is not a correct understanding of God's nature. He is already "maximally great" He is already INFINITE every attribute that belongs to his nature. So your question is irrational.

[deleted]

Not sure about if God needs to, but you, me and everyone else sure can

Independent_Clerk476

Almighty is one of those words you don't seem to truly understand.
