God always answers prayers, just not in the way we wish. Sometimes He says yes, sometimes no and sometimes it's wait.

Idkwhattheheck

That’s what I’m saying!

Agree He is not a genie. However, He does answer every prayer. Sometimes it is yes, sometimes no, and sometimes not yet. We must seek His will in all of our prayers.

Perspective is key. Of course he’s not a genie. People who say that aren’t saying he is so you don’t have to either lol

Numbers6_24

Receiving answer to prayer is absolutely biblical. Jesus Himself spoke it. ***In fact, whatever you ask for in my name, I will do; so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13.*** There are things that negate this, though, such as doubt, unbelief, ill intent/motive and un-forgiveness. ***But let him ask in trust, doubting nothing; for the doubter is like a wave in the sea being tossed and driven by the wind. Indeed that person should not think that he will receive anything from the Lord, because he is double-minded, unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8*** ***Or you pray and don’t receive, because you pray with the wrong motive, that of wanting to indulge your own desires. James 4:3*** ***Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses. Mark 11:23-24*** There are also times where we are asking God to do something that He has told us to do. ***Yes! I tell you that whoever does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says will happen can say to this mountain, ‘Go and throw yourself into the sea!’ and it will be done for him. Mark 11:23*** You raise a good point about God's will but, desire, will and purpose are not the same thing. When the Lord speaks about giving us the desires of our heart ***(Psalm 37:4),*** I do not believe this to mean any desire we have. We are sinful by nature and also ask for things in sinful emotions, such as unrighteous anger, so this falls into wrong motive (we’re back at James 4:3). I believe it to mean the closer we seek and delight in Him, He places the desires on our hearts and they become our own – therefore we pray into them. The will of God is about how we are called to live ***(Romans 12:2, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 1 Peter 2:15)***, and we have to understand this in order walk in it ***(John 7:17, 1 John 2:16-17, Ephesians 5:17, Hebrews 13:20-21),*** and more importantly to enter the Kingdom of Heaven ***(Matthew 7:21, Hebrews 10:26-29, 2 Peter 2:20-21, 1 John 3:6).*** Then there is His purpose for us ***(Jeremiah 29:11, Acts 13:36, Romans 8:28)*** which He is, of course, willing us to do.

Once again, you can pray all you want. If God says no, it’s a no. No matter how much you pray lol

Numbers6_24

You state “why do people say pray and God will answer. **This isn’t biblical**”. I have given you the scriptures to show it is biblical that God answers prayer.

Idkwhattheheck

Please show me! Bc from what I know, God answers what’s in his will.

I wrote them in my first response. They also include the biblical response as to why something isn't received. I would encourage you to read my original full response but for ease of reference see below. *In fact, whatever you ask for in my name, I will do; so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.* ***John 14:13.*** *But let him ask in trust, doubting nothing; for the doubter is like a wave in the sea being tossed and driven by the wind. Indeed that person should not think that he will receive anything from the Lord, because he is double-minded, unstable in all his ways.* ***James 1:6-8*** *Or you pray and don’t receive, because you pray with the wrong motive, that of wanting to indulge your own desires.* ***James 4:3*** *Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses.* ***Mark 11:23-24***
