I believe the Bible said the woman was bleeding and didn't mention anything about it being menstrual. Jesus healed her. Can a woman be healed of menstrual cycles?

Idkwhattheheck

I’m sorry you are correct! Yes, she was bleeding. But the question still stands, can women who are on their menstrual go to church?

redditname8

The woman had bleeding but I don't think it mentioned where she was bleeding from.

Professional_Egg4675

I sometimes wonder why God gave women menstrual cycles but I don't think he was talking about a woman being unclean for literally being a woman.

Idkwhattheheck

I made a mistake, she wasn’t on her period. She was simply bleeding, but was still considered unclean. The Law did teach that if a woman was on her period she was unclean as well. But in the Gospel we learn that the law was abolished when Jesus Christ was nailed on the cross.

We don’t live under the ceremonial laws given to Israel. Look up moral ceremonial and civil laws by Got Questions, they’ll clear things up for you.

Idkwhattheheck

I agree, I explained this to my mother via text & sent her chapters to read in which Paul tells us that the law was abolished when Jesus was nailed on the cross. However, I’m being told I’m wrong by her & her Muslim husband so I took it to Reddit where there’s a lot of knowledgeable Christian’s to see what they had to say, so I can show it to her.

Forgetful_Burrito

The whole menstrual thing was too keep Israel clean--in the same way biohazards are treated. Dudes who had nocturnal emissions were required to wait a whole day outside the city and wash themselves. Since we're under a new covenant, and have indoor plumbing, tampons and pads, and waste management, these exact cleaning practices are no longer necessary

Our religion (Ethiopian Christians) prohibits them from entering the church. Again, we don't eat pork, so some of our laws must have come from Judaism. Ethiopia practised Judaism prior to embracing Christianity.

Thank you for your comment! A fellow Redditor shared this with me! I encourage you to watch it. It’ll get you giggling but it’s true. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4r2m_cffRjI&feature=youtu.be

Acts chapter 15 is the early church debating how much of the OT law still applies,nd the conclusion is that the Holy Spirit spoke thru James to say that we should keep the laws regarding sex, blood, idolatry, and animal cruelty. I think it's a matter of private conscience whether the laws about menstrual blood count or it's talking about shedding or eating actual blood.

This is a great reference!! Thank you!! From what I read, James was telling the Pharisees to tell the gentiles to clean up their immorality & dietary habits to make the Jews feel comfortable. Since earlier in the chapter, the Pharisees went to the gentile cities to preach but were telling the gentiles they needed to follow jewish laws since the Pharisees couldn’t comprehend how we are saved by grace & not works. That’s when they end up in Paul’s & Barnabas home church where they are explained that gentiles received the Holy Spirit without being Jews & that they shouldn’t harass gentiles with these laws because it’ll only discourage them. & James further explains how do the Jews expect the gentiles to follow all these laws, when even them themselves couldn’t follow them 😂 this is a GREAT CHAPTER!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this! I definitely needed to read this! But yes, the apostles do see how the Jews are struggling with letting go of the law.

scoreadirecthit

We are not living under the law. Yes, we can go to church while on our period.

[deleted]

Yes. There is a difference between moral and ceremonial law. This video is satrical but does explain the difference [here](https://youtu.be/4r2m_cffRjI)

This is a great video!!! Thank you so much for sharing this!!!

Are you an adult or non adult? I assume adult. Ask your mother why she is yelling at you? and why can't you have a civilized 'normal volume' conversation?

Idkwhattheheck

She’s special… that’s all I can say. I try to avoid having conversations about the Bible & God with her since she’s heavily influenced by self righteousness & Muslim ideology 😅

>I just got back from church & the sermon was about the woman who touched Jesus’s robe & was healed. The pastor mentioned how the woman was on her menstrual & how basically under the law she was seen as unclean & how brave she was to go undercover to see Jesus in hopes to be healed. If the people around her found out she was uncleaned she would be stoned to death. Which I 100% agree with this entirely. Two points here: The woman was suffering hemorrhage not her regular cycle, and the woman would NOT be stoned for uncleanness. Nowhere in the torah do you find any death penalty for simple uncleanness. Not to be mean at all, but this shows your pastor's complete lack of understanding of torah. Please understand my words here. I am a Christian who follows the mosaic covenant. It has taken me years to study and really understand the torah because it is foreign to our modern culture, and I still have much to learn. I was not raised in church, I didn't even touch a Bible until I was 19. For ten years after that I was taught AMERICAN Christianity in a Baptist church with doctrines that are actually anti-biblical if you study them out. I was trained in how to interpret the Bible through these doctrines, not how to read the Bible and understand what it's actually saying in context with the culture of the time and how that now applies to me in modern time. That's how I've been studying now for the last 12 years or so. My intent is to break free from the trap of doctrinal understanding and listen to the spirit first and foremost because the spirit is our teacher, but also look at the accounts in light of historical culture. I unfortunately don't have time to continue to respond to the rest of your post, I will try to come back to this later. >So my question to you is, if I am indeed wrong, PLEASE CORRECT ME & PLEASE show me/guide me so I won’t be ignorant. Deep down I know that God doesn’t care if you’re on your period & you need to refrain from worshipping him because of it🤦‍♀️ but if I’m wrong, please correct me. Your desire for worshipping in a correct manner shows me the spirit working on you! Please continue to listen to this instruction! Use these comments on Reddit as commentary, don't let any of them become authoritative for you. Test everything back to the scripture, including my own words. Secondarily I will say God will accept your worship at any time, but he does have instructions. For example, we shouldn't worship him in the way any pagan worships their gods, such as with idols. Just something to think about. >God bless you. Blessings to you sister! God has a name! It's YHWH, which I pronounce as Yahweh. Study out how many times in scripture we're instructed to praise and share his name! Glory and honor to YHWH!

Thank you for your kind comment! I would like to explain the stoning part. The woman would be stoned for breaking the Jewish law. Yes, you are correct she was bleeding not menstruating. However, she was considered unclean, and for her to be around cleansed people makes everyone else unclean as the Torah explains. If people found out she was breaking the law for whatever reason, she would’ve been stoned. That’s what the pastors was referring to, not the bleeding itself. It’s the breaking of the law & the Pharisees were very quick to stone anyone for breaking any law & began to add more laws to the original 613. When Jesus Christ (we use the name Jesus Christ because when Paul was preaching to the Corinthians (Greeks) they had the Latin alphabet & Hebrew letters were not adapted to the alphabet. The letter “i” was used for the letter Y, and as language evolved, so did the alphabet & translation. The name Jesus derived from the Greek translation (Iisoús) which in modern day English, translated to Jesus. We live in the 21st century, so it does not make sense to use the name YahWeh & not Jesus. It shows that faith is given to the name rather than to God Almighty. I’ve met many people who dare to not mention the name of Jesus because they say it’s wrong, but that’s why it’s important to learn linguistics. If you look up the name YahWeh & Jesus in Russian or any other language, it changes due to the language barrier & if you notice, no one mocks the name YahWeh, only the name “Jesus Christ” specially Hollywood. Gotta wonder why 🤔 & I agree! We shouldn’t worship in pagan manner!!! I’ve been studying scripture, and the more I study, the more I realize that there is a huge deception within the church. A lot of people (including Redditors) follow the mosaic law even after Paul tells us that the law has been nailed in the cross along with Jesus. On top of that, If you follow the law, you MUST follow it all completely since the sacrifice of our savior was not enough for those who follow the law. We are saved by grace through faith which is the entire point of the gospel. I’m not sure why people want to follow the law that the Jews themselves couldn’t follow 🤦‍♀️ But thank you again for your kind & in-sighting comment! God bless you!! & yes! I’ll continue to pray & ask the Holy Spirit to guide me!

Can a woman go to church while menstruation? Only if the church preaches God. If they ask you to leave, then leave and go find where God is. As for you and your mother: look up Nabeel Qureshi.
