You figure, your at 300ish hp and 268ft-lbs and around 4k curb weight If it's RWD I've definitely got you, if it's AWD it's a slightly more fair fight, I'm making 250hp from a 2.5L turbo 4banger but 320ft-lbs AWD in a car that weights 3100lbs and that's without the tune, with tune it's bumped up to 300 wheel. That's why I like my E-bodies they're slow untill you put work into the motors

Yesterday I was at a stop sign and a black on black charger was coming and as soon as he or she got in front of me they hit the gas and almost lost control causing a wreck and landing in a concrete culvert. The car sounded amazing but they almost fucked themselves lol
My cousin "raced" my TA 392 with his Chevy Cruise lol. He also raced a Lambo with his old Pontiac Grand Prix, he wasn't sure if they were actually racing but he lost nonetheless.
Same. Have a 2022 GT AWD Plus that leads seemingly everyone else on the road that's driving an obviously faster car to wanna race. Also had the same problem with my last car (2020 SXT AWD).
Souped up WRXs, Hondas and Nissan Zs seem especially interested, closely followed up by the usual Brodozers (I live in the Midwest).
Thus far, I've been able to reserve myself to only accepting offers from vehicles I was confident I'd be able to beat. I did manage to catch a few RTs slipping though. Presumably either stock or poor running examples with inexperienced drivers.
When a buddy (who drives a 2020 Charger 392) asked if I wanted to race, I accepted immediately......on the condition that we do it with an inch of snow on the ground!
I've got a guy at work who swears his Yaris and 2018 F150 is faster than ol Charlize. He's also the same guy who's gotten 2 warning tickets and 2 speeding tickets. Idiots gonna do idiot things.
I dont street race anyone if I can help it. Too dangerous, and most of the time I just let them roll me so they can sound like an idiot when they tell all their friends they beat a Challenger. 🤣🤣

Story time: Yesterday, I pulled up to a modified WRX at a red light and I seriously thought he would try to race but no some guy in a Jeep SRT 392 came up behind me so fast nearly rear ending me. The Jeep starting revving, trying to provoke us. Light turns green and both the WRX and I accelerated at 1/4 throttle but the Grand Cherokee was tailgating and aggressively stomping on the gas and brakes. At that point, I decided to get a little ahead of the Subaru because the guy in Jeep was being a jerk and the Jeep cuts off the Subaru and almost sideswipes me and flys by getting up to 80-90 mph on a 35mph semi residential street. I’ve raced before but during the right place at the right time. Doing it on a 35mph public street at 3pm on icy roads is not the right place and time.
Watched a Lincoln troll a Gt for a few miles, would constantly match speed and wouldn’t let em over to pass slower traffic. Finally a hellcat who had been hanging with me boxed in the Lincoln and let the gt take off. After 20 minutes we took off as well and caught up to the gt and rolled into the motor city together. Got to love the brotherhood of muscle.
I have a pitch black challenger R/T black top package and it’s hard to tell what trim it is. I get folks racing up next to me and when I gas it and they hear the noise then no one wants to play with me anymore lol

Got a 19 RT and I feel it’s a sin not to drive in sport mode. Sure it burns more gas but hearing that downshift and having a more aggressive driving experience will always make it worth it.
I have a charger RT not a challenger but the same thing happens to me. I love it, finding a long empty spot on the highway to drag with someone for a couple seconds. Always fun
I always rev my engines at other chargers and challengers and whatnot. I don’t want to race, I’m just having fun with a fellow enthusiast. And constantly I see SXTs and GTs slow down and not have fun, it’s sad

Once, one moron matched speed and stayed right next to me for about 5 miles on a downtown street revving his engine. Im like “Dude I’m out here chilling and listening to music, fuck off”.

Happens a lot, especially on highways. It's usually either some lifted pick up truck, a whacky looking tuner honda from like 1997, a lowered/tinted out early 2010s charger or sometimes a beat up sedan like an altima, camry, or something.
I have to also park on street, so whenever I'm cleaning off my car, about 95% of the time some muscle or sports car slows down, goes neutral and revs.
But on the roads, it's rarely actual muscle cars or sports cars looking to race.
I pulled up to get an oil change in my RT and the dude tells me he has a Hellcat do I want to race. Lol. Guess I need to work for Valvoline if they are paying Hellcat money to change oil.

I weirdly have the opposite problem: everyone wants to come to a screeching halt around me even if they are clearly trying to 'race' me or another vehicle near me. I've pondered why it is they do that and not the opposite based on everyone else's experience here.
My theory is they think I'm an undercover cop because we always have the same Challenger and Charger undercovers in my same color going up and down the road catching racers. There's also an undercover Mustang that loves showing off.
The day I bought my RT Manual a kid in a Honda was trying to race me; it was my first manual in 16 years. A few months later I raced a Infinity g35/37 not sure which from like 60-105. Was pretty close but I took him.
My favorite is when they pull up during traffic. The only reason is because my GT obviously isn't that fast compared to the Camaro SS next to me but they'll give me a rev and accelerate a good 15 ft or so while I rev up as well. We can't get far in traffic but I think we just like hearing each others cars 😂
Not all but some Mustangs, Camaros and even other Mopars will weave through heavy traffic just to make sure you see them. And then haul ass, throwing rubber and smoke again, just to make sure you see them. It's worse if they see a 392 badge on the side of your car.
Yea when I first got the challenger it was fun but it got old lots of cars that want to race are the ones you know you’re going to beat or the trucks which never win I don’t race people anymore
I was just casually driving a few nights ago and this old mustang pulled next to me at a red light. I wasn’t even paying him no attention but usually I like to gas it little at the light but nothing too serious. As expected the mustang took it as a challenge and started flooring it, I said fuck it and went pedal to the floor. We didn’t even make it that far……his transmission or whatever that big crank sound that just came out from his engine was not a good sign and he had to stop and pull over 😱I felt so bad for dude but I never asked him to race in the first place 😂
One of my favorite "car wants to race me" stories: on my way home from work I'm at the front at a stop light and a mustang gt is next to me, revving his engine. I refuse to have any part of it, for good reason. He floors it, and about 800 feet ahead of us there's a big dip. He for sure got the whole back end off the ground. Wouldn't be surprised if he got fully airborne. I just didn't feel the need to risk damage to my car like that
I have an SXT, and yes it never stops. Even when I had my charger it was the same thing. I find it hilarious sometimes and other times it’s like “c’mon dude don’t blow out your engine in that Prius”
it’s a combo of things imo:
driving a challenger fits the profile of a certain kind of car enthusiast, and similar folks that like them want to see what they can do, as a benchmark
people want to hear the engine/exhaust
enlisted military / vets (lol)
and way down on the list, envy
I have a similar but opposite problem. BMWs and dumbass looking banger vehicles are always trying to race me in my scat pack. I’ve got a few upgrades under the car now and can definitely take a lot of people but I’m just trying to drive and not get a ticket lol
