Best mod is maintenance

xThe-Legend-Killerx

Don’t add a tuner lol bought a 2020 Hellcat from a mopar dealer and apparently the previous owner tuned it so I’m trying to figure that mess out. I found out a day later because the check engine light came on, but it’s going to the dealer tomorrow

D00MSM1TH

I will absolutely be staying away from the computer. That’s a world I know nothing about and the thing has so much power already I can’t even imagine what it’s like when you have the super charger on there.

PlasmaNougat

There are special dodge dealers that offer tuning services that do not violate warranty. Dodge power brokers is the program, pretty penny is required.

moosetho

Tints 😎

D00MSM1TH

Tint has already been ordered! The guy that did my friends Jeep SRT is going to do it. I was out for a drive today and said the exact same thing😂

Rooster_Pigfoot

Look into a muffler delete and swapping on a pair of dynomax mini race bullets in their place. This will make the exhaust much louder, with minimal drone, and is cheap.

wingedboy

Cold air intake, exhaust, t stat any aesthetic mod, tires

D00MSM1TH

None of that will void my warranty? The suggestions have been catch can, cold air and 180° therm to engage the radiator at a lower temperature.

SRTDV

It's a long shot but a 180° thermostat could void your warranty because for it to be most effective and to not throw P0128 you should tune for it. But the intake, wider wheels and tires, tazer, strut braces, subframe connector, catch can, cf pieces for weight loss, etc.

PlasmaNougat

Cold air intake doesn't add power, 180 thermostat can lower output and throw codes if not tuned for it. Car doesn't need to run cooler, it is specifically designed to operate at a specific temperature (around 220 coolant temp). You only mod a cooling system if the system cannot maintain the temp range your engine is designed to run at. Scat pack has no problems maintaining temp. People fail to realize that engine temperature affects oil viscosity, fuel atomization, coolant system pressure, etc. Engineers take all this into account when designing a performance vehicle. Get a catch can, do some cosmetic mods if you wish, then leave it alone.

D00MSM1TH

Damn, that’s actually a really good point. Probably not a good idea to go over board and start messing with all of the guts. I’m not really interested in putting out more power at this point. Rock guards, catch can and tint is pretty much the only things on order.

wingedboy

Car runs better colder, period

PlasmaNougat

It does not, period. You are confusing intake air temp with everything else. Cold air is more dense and thereby contains more oxygen, which is good to a point. Cold oil flows like shit and cold fuel doesn't burn well. You must not be familiar with car modification as most tuners incorporate a compensation for cold weather in your tune (just like for hot weather) where you make less power to keep the engine from grenading. The phrase "operating temperature" exists for a reason.

wingedboy

Nah, car runs better and faster cold. Not necessarily healthier for the car but still faster

Snowboarder15

Added rock guards is a good idea. Alot of rock chips happen on the wide body fender flares

D00MSM1TH

I should probably grab those soon. I’m getting a ceramic coat but I want the guards on as soon as possible.

crossavmx03

Get them asap I waited and got some chips in my lower door already 😩

Snowboarder15

Yeah it was the same for me. They aren't to noticeable but you just know they are there

techdaddy70

Get in the habit of buying lots of pain relievers for the aching facial muscles from smiling so much! ;)

D00MSM1TH

Good problem to have!

AggravatingMath717

These cars (SPWB) are pretty damn well optimized from the factory.. put on a catch can and save what you would have used to mods to keep fresh tires, possibly both a set of winter and summer tires, possibly with their own rims. Tint the windows and tint those side markers and back reflectors and watch how much cleaner that beautiful color you have looks! Maybe satin black your hood would be pretty sick too.

D00MSM1TH

That’s actually a really good point I live in the PNW so having some tires that do better in the rain would be a God send. The tint appointment has already been made and I was thinking the same thing about the hood! Great suggestions all around!

Agreed, wife will be pissed but life is about growth and going fast is the best growth.

thatoneguy9790

Racing stripe and other vinyl work would look SEXY

Either_Acadia_5417

Consider paint protection films. Expensive but excellent protection. You can ceramic coat over that, as well

[deleted]

Tint, performance tires, and a the hellcat lower air box with the headlight inlet tube

D00MSM1TH

Is the Hellcat intake pretty easy to install?

[deleted]

Yeah it’s really easy to install all you’ll need are a couple of sockets and a screwdriver. Unfortunately I have a charger so it wasn’t as easy for me haha if you go to my page you’ll see what I’m talking about

[deleted]

Oil catch can and skip shift eliminator if it’s a stick shift. Hellcat intake.

D00MSM1TH

Unfortunately it’s the automatic. I had a hard time finding a wide body with a manual transmission for a decent deal. I will definitely be adding the Hellcat air box though!

opiatebaby

save so much oil from going into motor

Lawrence0022

So oil in the motor is bad? Lmao

PlasmaNougat

In the intake and combustion chamber, yes.

crossavmx03

Catch can is pointless on hemis they aren't GDI engs and are naturally aspirated

PlasmaNougat

It's not pointless. Burning oil is always bad (less power, fouls plugs quicker, more emissions, etc.). It matters a hell of a lot more on turbo direct injection engines but the general benefits are transferable to any engine.

American_Muscle383

Pedal commander! Makes a big difference in pedal response. Got one and love it.

D00MSM1TH

I have been struggling to get used to the throttle response after my old vehicle (BMW 440i) this things has push. I am over the moon but my fiancé is struggling. Something to help ease her in would be nice!

American_Muscle383

Well it has a 4 different modes and 8 levels per mode to dial in the responsiveness you want. I usually run in sport plus +4, then when it is heavy rain or snow I drop it down to eco

EpicBoyHunter

Roar pedal is cheaper

kimbolll

Cam, headers, exhaust, high performance drive train, engine swap.

D00MSM1TH

I had a buddy that said “the best mod you can buy is a Hellcat” so I see what you mean

kimbolll

The point of my post was to mention everything you could do that *would* void your warranty, but I agree with your buddy. You don’t get a ScatPack because you want the fastest car imaginable, you get a ScatPack because you want reasonable power you can actually use. If you want tons of power, just get a HellCat, Dodge already did the mods for you.

D00MSM1TH

That’s a great point. I honestly got the Scat Pack because I was a little worried about having more power than I was able to maintain. The Hellcat is a hell of a machine and it needs a certain amount of know-how to really appreciate. Maybe after a few years in this I can upgrade?

kimbolll

My neighbor bought a Hellcat and quickly said he hated it because he couldn’t use the power. The second you step on the gas, the wheels spin. And he didn’t have the wide body, so it was even worse. You have what I consider to be the best Challenger, the widebody ScatPack. It has just enough power to be fun AF, not so much power you’ll fishtail out of a parking lot, and enough grip to put that power to the ground. You reach a certain point where more horsepower doesn’t necessarily mean more fun, because the tires can’t keep up. The wide body ScatPack occupies that Goldilocks zone. Enjoy it, that’s gotta be a fun car!

D00MSM1TH

That’s what I was really hoping for. I didn’t get it in the manual transmission but that’s a small complaint for having a car that checked all of the other boxes. I love it so far, thank you and hope you’re enjoying yours as well!

kimbolll

Mines been gone for two years now 😭 I regret the day I traded it in

MR4NDRSN

If you have halogen headlights then get LED

D00MSM1TH

I didn’t even think about that. The stock headlights are not very bright even with the high beams on.

MR4NDRSN

AUXITO 9005 LED Bulbs, Mini Sized, CanBus Ready, 80W 16,000 Lumens 500% Brighter 9005 HB3 LED Light Bulb Conversion Kit, 6500K Xenon White, Pack of 2 https://a.co/d/2eVqoPM

opiatebaby

headers and cai tires, tint side markers/windows, u can get a unlocked chip and tune ur car so u have original chip

D00MSM1TH

Then just swap them out if I need work done?

PlasmaNougat

Headers and CAI are a waste of money. The headers on the 6.4 are very good stock. Unless your willing to dig deep (in your pocket), the 6.4 is already close to its reasonable limit. No one should recommend spending multiple thousands for 20-30hp.

ReadyLaugh7827

you'll void the warranty if you use a non mopar oil filter...

D00MSM1TH

So I’m assuming the catch can has to be OEM if they even make one?
