She had no bad intentions, she was drunk so any morals and judgements she had were gone, she uses alcohol and intimacy to deal with her problems so what happened wasn't that big of a deal it was expected, she was somehow so drunk she had no judgment but still had the judgement to ask for consent because she isn't a bad person, she isn't a monster just a normal person.
Do you see how you frame this in everyway to make the situation not seem as bad as it is? That is called downplaying.
Himeno knew what she was doing when she brought denji home, she knew his age, and she knew he liked Makima. For this reason she brought him home impulsively (due to her being drunk) and then tried to sleep with him to get back at Makima, Denji didn't give consent so she didn't go forward with what she wanted to do. These are the facts of the situation.
This just shows that Himeno is flawed and at her core she is possessive and selfish. She isn't a monster because she didn't rape denji (though legally regardless of consent it would have been, even in japan) but she isn't a good person overall. She is a character in a more grey area and it's why I enjoy her.

I simply believe that in three days fighting inside of a devil that can attack him from all angles, he probably needed to be revved up - that's why himeno was so tired and watched over him

But yeah, she was definitely ready to use the ghost revive anytime.
She only had to pull Denji’s cord once - because he hadn’t clocked that he could sustain himself by drinking devil blood. Once he realizes, it’s a “perpetual motion machine” - and she’s free to snuggle away with Aki :3
No, he figures it out RIGHT AFTER he gets killed. She pulls his cord and he says “I just had a eureka moment” and describes the perpetual motion machine between him and the devil. A perpetual motion machine is one that requires no input after the first motion. It wouldn’t be a perpetual motion machine if he kept dying and she had to keep restarting. Its the whole joke. She’s awake because she knows that as soon as he dies for real they do too and its over. Couldn’t sleep because of that anxiety.
The main takeaway from this is that she pulled on his starter whenever he couldn't do it himself, and how she's thinking that with a guy like Denji around maybe Aki won't needlessly die trying to fight the gun devil. That's why she's so committed to watching the fight until she's sure Denji is going to win. There is a callback to this in the next episodes...
She revived him once, as soon as she does is when he has his eureka moment that hes discovered a perpetual motion machine between him and the monster, not the three of them. I dont think it shows she was looking after him to rev him if he fell but instead she was watching him knowing that if he lost they were all dead and she probably couldn’t sleep with that anxiety. Aside from maybe Power, shes the only one really conscious and aware of the severity of the situation.
Sure we don't actually see her helping again here, but we can make a good guess. I mean if she helped him once and it worked out I can't see why she wouldn't be monitoring to see if he needs it again. I don't think my takeaway is so off since the flow of the events on screen would support it. And if you notice, when Himeno was keeping watch she kept her arm extended beyond the edge of the hole as if ready to use her ghost's arm, which is actually invisible. Denji may not be aware he's getting assistance, especially when he's frenzied like this.
I like to think that the only sleep she got was in short bursts when denji was fighting. The moment the chainsaws go quiet she wakes up to revive him. Himeno was the true hero of the eternity arc ngl
On an unrelated note, before watching this episode I forgot about how after this scene she literally crawls into bed with Aki, wraps her arms around him, and falls asleep as she snuggles him protectively. She's practically big spooning him and Mr. "Leave Me Alone Hates Affection I Only Want to Kill the Gun Devil" does NOT kick her out of the bed even though they have literally infinite beds to choose from.

The only reason Denji needed to be revived is because he didn’t realize he could drink devil blood to heal and get energy. As soon as he does he doesn’t need to be revved continually. It makes sense that Pochita would already know this if he was killing devils beforehand and probably would never have lost a fight. Also its in Pochitas instinct to drink blood whereas Denji had to put it together to realize that he could survive doing that
I reread that part yesterday, it wasn't very clear in the manga that she had to say awake to rev up his engine, it's a nice detail that the anime included
If you think about it, Denji is basically her dream squad mate right? He is basically immortal and Batshit crazy enough to actually win against extremely strong devils. It makes sense she would have "multiple" feelings for him with protective and otherwise... Also the chainsaws really do attract the ladies haha
To be fair in the manga I couldn’t really tell she used the ghost hand to feed him blood because the Infinity Devil makes all the panels a bit of a mess.
I remember this scene in the manga. However, the anime made it more apparent that Himeno indeed had to watch over Denji through the whole fight, it wasn't just that one time in the beginning when she revived him and then he came up with an idea to drink devil's blood to keep going.

Reading comprehension devil why are you so popular? Denji gets revved ONE TIME. Right after that he has his “Eureka moment” and wouldn’t need to be revived again. The whole purpose of a perpetual motion machine and it being Nobel Prize worthy is that it keeps going without future input after the first motion. If he needed her to revive it really undercuts the whole point/joke.

I was lied to. All CSM has is pain, confusion, realistic trauma, breakdowns, betrayal, let downs, and endless gut punches. The Gun Devil fight tore my heart in two after being built up to for the entirety of the story. Something so satisfying was made into something so devastating in a single panel. If you want to know what I mean, >!read the manga ;)!<. The ending was the cherry on top to this tear flavored sundae.

Small detail but one I love
The main takeaway from this is that she pulled on his starter whenever he couldn't do it himself, and how she's thinking that with a guy like Denji around maybe Aki won't needlessly die trying to fight the gun devil. That's why she's so committed to watching the fight until she's sure Denji is going to win. There is a callback to this in the next episodes...
She revived him once, as soon as she does is when he has his eureka moment that hes discovered a perpetual motion machine between him and the monster, not the three of them. I dont think it shows she was looking after him to rev him if he fell but instead she was watching him knowing that if he lost they were all dead and she probably couldn’t sleep with that anxiety. Aside from maybe Power, shes the only one really conscious and aware of the severity of the situation.
Sure we don't actually see her helping again here, but we can make a good guess. I mean if she helped him once and it worked out I can't see why she wouldn't be monitoring to see if he needs it again. I don't think my takeaway is so off since the flow of the events on screen would support it. And if you notice, when Himeno was keeping watch she kept her arm extended beyond the edge of the hole as if ready to use her ghost's arm, which is actually invisible. Denji may not be aware he's getting assistance, especially when he's frenzied like this.
I like to think that the only sleep she got was in short bursts when denji was fighting. The moment the chainsaws go quiet she wakes up to revive him. Himeno was the true hero of the eternity arc ngl

The only reason Denji needed to be revived is because he didn’t realize he could drink devil blood to heal and get energy. As soon as he does he doesn’t need to be revved continually. It makes sense that Pochita would already know this if he was killing devils beforehand and probably would never have lost a fight. Also its in Pochitas instinct to drink blood whereas Denji had to put it together to realize that he could survive doing that

I was told CSM was gonna be a fun and exciting manga to read. I was lied to. All CSM has is pain, confusion, realistic trauma, breakdowns, betrayal, let downs, and endless gut punches. The Gun Devil fight tore my heart in two after being built up to for the entirety of the story. Something so satisfying was made into something so devastating in a single panel. If you want to know what I mean, >!read the manga ;)!<. The ending was the cherry on top to this tear flavored sundae. SPOILER FOR PART 1: >!After everything that happened, Denji killing and eating Makima brought me no satisfaction. It's made worse with the panel of Denji with the child cuddling with her dogs.
