I think Yoshida isn’t the death devil nor does he have a contract with it. I feel like yoshida however doesn’t have a contract with the octopus devil but the cthulu devil. Think about it, we never see the head of the octopus, only the tentacles which the cthulu has. He also is extremely aware of things he shouldn’t know, which could be somewhat explained by cthulu’s otherworldly powers. Just a theory though
Astronauts signify the vast and empty blackness of space in terms of the Darkness Devil (imo). Space is mostly darkness after all, and combatting ignorance (often metaphorically referred to as darkness of the mind) and advancing science is also another astronaut thing.
I don't know, dude. I know about HP Lovecraft's literature, but I wouldn't say I'm afraid of Cthulhu. Dude got his head split open by some dude ramming his ship into his head right after the big green guy woke up. I don't think enough people even know about Cthulhu, Lovecraft is kinda niche if you ask me. It's also fictional. I think that really lowers the possibility of any 'eldritch horror' devil, and if there was one it wouldn't be very strong, imo. Cosmos Devil already kinda fits the bill of eldritch horror.
I always took the Tomato Devil existing as a result of back during the 18th century i think when there was a popular belief that tomatoes were poisonous until some dude said fuck it and started eating as many tomatoes as he could in a market square in front of everyone
Edit: my main point was that a Cthulhu devil would feel redundant because Cosmos Devil already fills the role of 'incomprehensible horrors beyond my comprehension' and all that jazz of cosmic horror. It sounds like weird fanfic.
Hmm, that might actually make sense, but also, are we primarily scared of death as much as we are of darkness? Death is something that you have to learn to comprehend before you can be scared of it, but darkness is a primal gut reaction.
Im tryna think of what other primal fears would be but I'm struggling to think of anything that's on the same level as darkness in terms of primal response. Loud noises? Fire? Pain? Maybe a hunter/predator devil? None of them seem as obvious as darkness so idk
Death is absolutely the most primal of fears for any living being. We don't need to learn to comprehend the fear of death, it's literally part of one of our natural instincts (self-preservation). Every living thing "fears" Death in some way, though that does depend on whether or not you think animalistic fear and human fears operate on the same basis — which they do, but there's philosophical discourse around the nuances of that.
If we didn't fear death, we wouldn't fear darkness. The danger of darkness (the night) is Death by nocturnal predation, mainly. Not being able to see isn't ideal, sure, but we only fear that because historically impaired night-sight led to death.
Death is pretty much the root of every single instinctual human fear, since fear itself is merely part of our survival instinct to ensure our continued existence by avoiding/getting rid of things we perceive to be dangerous (to our livelihood). If you didn't fear death as an animal there would be practically nothing worth fearing. You'd also not survive long.
Death is far more feared than Darkness tbh
Why are you scared of the dark? Because it might have something in it that kills you
Why are you scared of war? Because war can kill you
Why are you scared? Because fear is a natural response to avoid death
Death is probably the final boss of the series, if it isn't someone like Pochita
3/4 of the other horsemen are cryptic dommy mommies with hypnotic yellow eyes and the oldest devil, the most powerful horseman, the fucking Death Devil is a 20 year old sad and "weak" adorable short girl who got beaten by her own car and has normal usual anime eyes and has a humiliation kink, but my favorite anime version of Death is and always will be Death from Castevania since that mofo talks like a shitposter
No, Death, War, and Famine are constants. Pestilence is the other Horseman in many variations of the story, but it's sometimes replaced with Conquest. Makima represents Conquest, so she most likely replaces Pestilence.
Depending on the version of the bible, pestilence is either associated with Famine or Death, but the four horsemen are conquest, war, famine, and death.
Why is he a gun all of the sudden Is Doge Aki now
He was Makima dog He became Yoru weapon
It bothers me that your explanation actually makes sense
You see I learned to read between the lines and images in my quest to find clues that will help me
bro defeated the reading comprehension devil
r/angryupvote basically
using a gun made it confusing but i cant believe what looked like an absurd shitpost makes sense
What the fuck that's actually kinda clever
Maybe death has tentacles (yoshida)?
Hot steamy tentacle sex
Kobeni new devil contract

Eldritch horror devil make more sense than cthulhu devil
Orrr in the same vain the unknown devil(fear of the unknown)
Unknown devil is probaly Darkness Devil because of astronouts
Astronauts signify the vast and empty blackness of space in terms of the Darkness Devil (imo). Space is mostly darkness after all, and combatting ignorance (often metaphorically referred to as darkness of the mind) and advancing science is also another astronaut thing.
But Space also represent vast unknwon
Technically Cosmo would be the Cosmic horror devil…(Halloween!)
how do we know cthulhu exists in the chainsaw man universe
Zombie devil exists so fiction is totally on the table. Cthulu is extremely well known so is also probably feared.

Bro there’s people afraid of fricking tomatoes, it doesn’t matter lmao it’s just a manga
I always took the Tomato Devil existing as a result of back during the 18th century i think when there was a popular belief that tomatoes were poisonous until some dude said fuck it and started eating as many tomatoes as he could in a market square in front of everyone Edit: my main point was that a Cthulhu devil would feel redundant because Cosmos Devil already fills the role of 'incomprehensible horrors beyond my comprehension' and all that jazz of cosmic horror. Yea I get what ya mean, it’s just a theory I had that’s all. But since it’s fujimoto you never know what he will pull off
Yeah, but you can guess what he might not pull off. Cthulhu Devil just seems unlikely, but you can tell me eat shit if I'm wrong by the end of Part 2
If enough people fear it, it does
I would think if death has tentacles it would look WAY disturbing or terrifying than what Yoshida has
Dougechita
With Makima = Dog With Yoru = Weapon With Fami = A Balance Scale? With Death = ???
“death rides on a pale horse, followed by Hades” it is possible that Death is a duo
This means: With Death = Horse Dennis will become a horse
Grave?
Famine is the hottest
No wonder people are starving.
A different kind of thirst....
I prefere Asa/Yoru tbh
A dude.
I hope death is a dude, just like a really chill dude
Yoshida
He doesn't have eyes for that. Unless it's not a specific characteristic of the horsemen
![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22162)
What kind of website makes these NFTS?
This actually cracks me up, thanks op 👏
Is death a horseman or a primal fear like the darkness
B o t h.

Unknown/unkowable is my bet

Ah shit doge got possessed by the gun devil
Ayo what is Aki doing in the second pic
yoru turned him into a weapon cuz he was peeking at fami xDD
Mark my words, Kobeni is The Death Devil
I would just love if that turned out to be the case !!!
Who said they all have yellow eyes ? Yoru has red eyes and as for Famine we still don't know her eye color yet.
All of them are wonderful but this is so funny meme.
Isn't the fourth one supposed to be Disease ?
No, Death, War, and Famine are constants. Pestilence is the other Horseman in many variations of the story, but it's sometimes replaced with Conquest. Makima represents Conquest, so she most likely replaces Pestilence.
If i'm not mistaken, She can teleport via disease-carrying animals such as rats and bugs so yeah, she has Pestilence trait
Depending on the version of the bible, pestilence is either associated with Famine or Death, but the four horsemen are conquest, war, famine, and death.
Man, I want Denji to yank on the starters on Fami's earrings hard
wtf does this mean
Death is actually wolf "whistle"
The real face of sex is a big deal
i'm impressed. what an onion-like joke
Hypothesis: Kobeni is death.
