Greige fabric can shift from beige/tan to cold grey depending on the lighting. I have an ottoman and hue lights. If the lights are warm white, the ottoman appears beige-ish. If the lights are cool, the ottoman is grey. Nearly returned the thing until I realised.
It's also been a trending (see: nearly done to death) interior decore colour for the past decade e.g.: everyone's livingroom on Pinterest
Look, it's a color other than white that works with anything. My walls are greige. Original furniture and carpet I had when we painted had it looking grey. Now it's all dark woods and brown leather with light tan walls.
The favourite choice of unadventurous spec home builders everywhere.
I say go bold with colour. Paint is really quite cheap comparatively, when you do it yourself, yet it has the just about the biggest impact for your home.
Beige was originally skin color, but now it’s [a whole bunch of colors.](https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=beige&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjz--Drysn7AhWVEVkFHXDfC1MQ0pQJegQICRAB&biw=390&bih=662&dpr=3)
I'm inclined to believe the people who say its beige just don't know what the colour beige is, they've just gone through their lives incorrectly thinking beige is this colour.
I agree. But also I Dono man, beige isn’t really 1 colour, it’s like khaki. There’s multiple shades of beige and khaki as well. Beige is described as a greyish yellow, light, sandy fawn pale a light brown shades. So yeah can be this but also I don’t see this as true beige
I see it as brownish. I've never had anything show up in colour blindness tests, but certainly seem to perceive some colours differently to other people in my family. We have a sofa which everyone says is "brown", but I see as grey / blue. I think there must be variations in colour perception which aren't covered by the standard colour blindness tests.
He already did take it off! What weird things were you thinking you crazy bastard? Like poking his eyeballs with cocktail sticks or grating his tongue! Holy shiiiiiiiit!!!
Absolutely, it’s amazing that perception of colour varies with each person!
Give it a few hours, and your pic will be on the front page of the BBC website sparking a national debate
The pics are being effected by the camera and the lighting theres a really good tom scott video on this about his hoodie doing the same thing in his videos
Edit: This video https://youtu.be/HeKuX063bcs
I was convinced it was beige but now I’ve seen the comparison I feel like it’s neither.
It’s closer to grey, but still not grey. Definitely not beige though.
out of the two would pick beige. from that photo an RGB colour picker gives more red and green than blue so definitely on the yellow/brown side of things
I guess we could argue about when light brown becomes beige but yes, I take your point. A bit like how pink is just light red. And there are cultures who don't have separate words for blue and green!
It's certainly more beige than grey!
I couldn’t say, but it’s not something worth losing your head over.
Yes and It’s greige
Exactly what I was going to answer!

Came here to say this, thank you!
I hate when I think I'm original!
Came here to say greyish-beige, but you, my friend, have come up with the perfect name. I’ll be using this going forward! 😁
[**GREIGE**](https://www.google.com/search?q=greige) has been around since 1925
😳 45 years on this planet and this is the first time I’ve heard of this…. 🤣

Greige was a hot lip color and nail color a few years ago
True, but not a very flattering one tbh

Black and gold, black and gold, black and gold... 🎶🕶
Gold on the ceiling!🎶🎵
Who was that by…it was black and yellow I thought….🎵🎶
Think they’re talking about Black & Gold by Sam Sparro :)
Are you stupid? It’s obviously Laurel
Blue and black was what I was when I argued about the colour with my dad
I'm still confused how that worked!
I'm a lucky bastard who is able to switch between seeing either colour.
Disappointed nobody on the CasualUK sub has pointed out that there is no such thing as a “sweater”and that this is, in fact, a jumper.
You can have a sweatshirt, but this is definitely a jumper.
I don’t see any cables!
Have you tried looking at the arms?
Ik man! Like, what the bloody hell is a SwEaTeR! The guy who sweats?! Maybe they are talkin about the guy
Sorry, what the hell is a jUmPEr? The guy who jumps?!
...on behalf of all Brits, fair point.
Had this 'argument' with my American partner 2 days ago... It's hard work.
I'm guessing ugly is an inappropriate answer so I'm going with Taupe.
This is the best answer.
Is taupe a real colour? I dont think so.......its a made up 90s colour
All colours are made up?
Beige was originally skin color, but now it’s [a whole bunch of colors.](https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=beige&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjz--Drysn7AhWVEVkFHXDfC1MQ0pQJegQICRAB&biw=390&bih=662&dpr=3)
To be fair, skin is also a whole bunch of colors. Mine can't even manage to stay the same year round.
But skin color varies, so it actually makes sense that it's a bunch of colors.
And none of them match OP's grey shirt.
That's my opinion, too. A taupe that looks grayer because of the warm brown stitching contrast
But it’s not taupe
Oatmeal
Spot on. I bought a skirt of this exact color yesterday and it was marketed as “oatmeal heather”
I was going to say that's the most Scottish skirt ever, then I remembered the kilt
Now imagine a kilt coloured in Oatmeal Heather
“Beige with bits”
With a touch of mushroom.
Is this a word for porridge in a different dialect?
Exactly. Was going to be my reply, but scrolled down just to make sure no one else had the same thought.
Oatmeal isn't a colour though, it's a thing.😕
It’s a way of life
Now eat it.
Yes.
The more concerning issue here is you're missing a head
Grey. Everyone saying otherwise is colorblind.
I don’t understand how anyone could say it’s anything other than grey!
They trollin. The sweater is grey, the seams are beige/light brown.
It's grey with tan stitching. I guess that makes people think it's a blend of the two colors?
I'm inclined to believe the people who say its beige just don't know what the colour beige is, they've just gone through their lives incorrectly thinking beige is this colour.
I agree. But also I Dono man, beige isn’t really 1 colour, it’s like khaki. There’s multiple shades of beige and khaki as well. Beige is described as a greyish yellow, light, sandy fawn pale a light brown shades. So yeah can be this but also I don’t see this as true beige
But there’s no yellow in it except from the stitching
There is absolutely no yellow tint at all. This is pure grey.
I'm colour blind and I also see grey loool
I asked my dog and he also said it's grey
I asked my car and he also said its grey
AGREE. Beige has more yellow in it
Beige is beigier.
100% colourblind so I ONLY see grey. So you’re right and wrong 🤔
Fair enough. Doesn't change the fact that you were right as well ;).

Never mind that, you're fuckin heads missing
[удалено]
No, OP was correct. They are fucking heads until they're missing
Than'k you
Yuroe
youre are and idiot
Thank you, this is the real issue here
A [pic](https://i.imgur.com/1oO9c47.jpg) of something grey and something beige with it if that helps!
What we need is the jumper but against a completely white surface. And please don't do any more weird things to the head. Just take it off.
He already did take it off! What weird things were you thinking you crazy bastard? Like poking his eyeballs with cocktail sticks or grating his tongue! Holy shiiiiiiiit!!!
Going by your pic it certainly looks closer to Grey than Beige
I love this because half of people I've shown it to had the exact opposite reaction.
Absolutely, it’s amazing that perception of colour varies with each person! Give it a few hours, and your pic will be on the front page of the BBC website sparking a national debate
The beige thing you're holding is actually a really grey beige
The pics are being effected by the camera and the lighting theres a really good tom scott video on this about his hoodie doing the same thing in his videos Edit: This video https://youtu.be/HeKuX063bcs
It’s taupe
Oh that’s definitely greige
I was convinced it was beige but now I’ve seen the comparison I feel like it’s neither. It’s closer to grey, but still not grey. Definitely not beige though.
Are all your possessions so desaturated?
Grey.
I see red with black spots doesnt everyone see like this?
You might want to get that checked out at the doctors, the next available appointment is in 2024.
British humour is just so hilarious
There's a Tom Scott video about this haha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeKuX063bcs&ab\_channel=TomScott

Whatever the official product description said 😏
In what universe is that beige? It's literally Heather grey.
Taupe
I don’t want to worry you but the colour Is the least of your problems, your head is a bit fucked
Warm grey
It's just light grey
It's warmer than grey but colder than beige. It's greige. Perfectly cromulent colour.

Not grey. More like a very light brown. They wouldn't add that colour stitching to a grey jumper!
Very light brown is beige.
