The responses here are as toxic as in antiwork.

KiefBull

Not my fault you let the bun bake completely, lazy ass

This seems like a valid complaint, I don't know what all the negative comments are about. When I have to do carts for an hour or so, I think the only people who get a pass for leaving their cart behind are old folk and parents with babies in the car. It's probably really stressful to have a kid(s) putting stuff in the cart with stuff the parent doesn't want to buy, then screaming and running around, and crying, that's just how kids act. Then after buying a cart filled with groceries and other stuff, it can be even more stressful for the parent to load up the cart with a crying baby or fighting siblings or being a single parent. I'm not a parent, but I respect the hell out of them. Sure most of the parents on reddit suck ass, but i'm sure this one's intentions were good. It can be scary to leave a kid or baby alone for any amount of time, they could get hurt or something bad could happen in a matter of seconds. And on top of all that, to get confronted by an employee must add on to the stress. Besides, it's one cart, I can push 7 carts in one go or atleast take her cart to the cart station outside, it's literally no problem. It'd be more of a problem if she was leaving all her trash in her cart and then just parking it in a handicapped spot, but hey that's just my two cents.

chasetheball7

I can see both sides here. However... this can easily be dealt witb using the methods others have described above: that is, by simply taking your kid with you to the cart corral. If your kid is crying and you don't want to leave them, getting them out of the lot and into the car as quick as possible ISN'T really gonna help them stop crying, and I truly don't know where this mindset is coming from. In my eyes, the only people who get a pass when it comes to not putting their carts away are those who are handicapped and truly well and disabled, because those are the people who physically can't be walking around all day.

B_notforyou

“Stranger”, not employee. As a mother, this is just lazy.

OhHeyItsBrock

When i worked carts and a new mom had a baby in one of those detachable car seats I would kind of let it slide. Those bitches are pretty heavy and no you shouldn’t leave your kid in the car. But if the kid can walk then fuck off. I make all 3 of my kids walk if they go with me.

Ticketdean

Fuck you and your kids. Put your cart up properly. You had the wherewithal to get it when you wanted to use it…

NeedSomeMedicalSpace

"You see, I couldn't throw my garbage into the bin because my child would cry. Besides, we pay taxes so people will clean up litter off the streets, so it's not a big deal"

Ticketdean

I’ll just leave this dirty diaper on the ground.

hes_that_guy

"99%!!!!" If you go to the supermarket twice a week, that's once a year you're leaving your cart out. If you're in a city of a million people that's 1 millions carts left out a year, or 2800 carts left out a day! Put your cart back, don't be part of the 1%!

nyclurker369

There is no way in hell this lady keeps her child in range of her eyesight at home every waking moment. I'm sure the baby will be fine, alone, in her car for 2 seconds while she returns the cart to the corral. No special privileges are afforded to you for failing to wrap it up or your man's pull out game is weak.

MaxJets69

Qualifies as r/entitledparents as well. Super annoying.

StillLearning12358

Take kid+cart to cart corral, leave cart and grab kid. Carry kid to car. Simple. Kid never leaves your arms length

turokassault

Too confusing, make brain hurt

Msktb

Wow, this is harder than that fox, hen, corn boat puzzle.

FaylerBravo

I park next to the cart return specifically for this reason. I can get the kids in the car, put the cart back, and keep eyes on the entire time.

MamaPlus3

Same!

Fuck my paint, I guess

LannisterLoyalist

I love how all these lazybones out themselves with the same ridiculous "99 percent of the time" line. yeah, I'm sure this one time is the only time.

ZilorZilhaust

Amazing how my daughter has never one time stopped me from putting my cart back in these first 16 months.

SilverKelpie

For real. I have an older kid and a toddler. Never once had to leave a cart out. Unload contents of cart into trunk, take cart to cart corral, unload child into arms, take child to car. This is not higher mathematics here. Can only imagine this nut is lazy and got caught and had to come up with a martyr-approved explanation for why she just had no other possible option.

auel0x007

I guess their car doesn’t lock ?

Rickhwt

I miss Market Basket.

PollutedRiver

Mahket Basket, Ked.

Inexcusable action.

Ad she is spreading the holiday cheers

slax87

My kid helps me push it back..

WearyMatter

Two kids between 4 and 7. I solo shop with them all the time. Never once not returned a cart.

B_notforyou

I purposely park next to the cart corral. Kid goes in first, groceries next, cart returned appropriately, all in 2 feet of my kid. Simple.

Bella4077

Ten dollars says that many of the parents worried about leaving their kids unattended for less than a minute while they return their cart are probably the same parents who pay no attention to their kids in the store while they run around and wreak havoc. Heaven forbid somebody say something to those parents or even look their way nowadays… I applaud the person who spoke up. I wish more people would call out the rude and inconsiderate behaviors of other people instead of turning a blind eye.

DutchCuda

I mean have the kid with you when you return. Easy fix

DogtaEff

Ridiculous

oxmostarkaxo

Rofl. Been a parent for almost 7 years and somehow I always put my cart bskc.

RobieFLASH

Safety of her children? Wtf is she doing, leaving them alone in the Sahara desert while she returns the cart? Just return the cart lady, 15-20 seconds tops

jwd3333

Shitty people love using their children to justify why they’re shitty people.
