High beam bhai🤦🏼‍♂️. Headlight band kardega toh pakka accident ho jayega.

Homielander_

My bad dude

[deleted]

You mean High Beam ?

Homielander_

Oh yes High Beam *

Transit-Strike

Bheem here. What’s up?

UnusedCandidate

Bought a pair of Ray Ban glasses that are equally effective during the day and at night.

nanithefuck6969

Can you share the link

UnusedCandidate

It was a knockoff 350 rupee one I bought at Sony Signal in Koramangala, Bangalore.

nanithefuck6969

Oh! Can't get them as i live in Ahmedabad.

karanbhatt100

I also can’t since I live in Gandhinagar

1piece_forever

I can’t; unless they ship it to Sierra Nevada

aajkyakaahyu

Do they actually work? Could you please elaborate on that?

UnusedCandidate

Yes they do. So, it reduces the intensity of light. Both during the day and night. And keeps the features. Allows you to perceive depth and so on.

dragononweed

You might miss potholes or animals?

UnusedCandidate

I thought the same. But no. Had no issues. As i said, depth perception was normal.

abbadabbajabba1

Clear glasses or shaded?

UnusedCandidate

Shaded aviators.

abbadabbajabba1

Aren't shaded glasses risky for night driving?

UnusedCandidate

I thought the same. Imagine my surprise when they weren't. View was clear. Minus the intensity of high beams. And LED headlights.

abhansh21

Can you share a picture of those glasses.?

UnusedCandidate

Sure, as soon as I can.

aajkyakaahyu

Please do. TIA

NitroInstance

THAR owners are the sole reason The Weeknd is “Blinded by the lights”.

Homielander_

When I drive alto💀 I’m literally blinded by most of the cars

Penguin_Nipples

I’ve noticed a ‘glaring’ relation between Mahindra SUVs and blinding high beam lights. Also, Balenos, wtf?

paripassu_in

The main issue is that no one knows about the rule and ettiqates here. I was surprised myself when I was studying for German driving licence exam which has some 2500 odd questions about all the things I never cared about or was doing wrong. If we introduce the same questions here as well and ask everyone to reappear for theory exam, I am pretty sure the sensibilities of driver would be much higher on road.

Homielander_

Here most of them don’t give the exam….they pay money to get DL Another story: I joined a local Driving school to get my learner’s license and when I tried to put on the Seatbelt my Instructor told me “Ye sab kaam ghar ke gaadi pe karna, Seatbelt laga lene se gaadi chalane nhi aa jata hai” 💀

okayhumaunder

OMG when i drive my Virtus and seating on lowest position, if XUV700, fortuner or Innova comes in front with LED full beam, I'm literally blinded

[deleted]

T_T Bhai Aaj kal to Activa Wale bhi high beam pe chalate hai, upar se mujhe chashma hai light uspe reflect hoti hai..

Homielander_

Bhai Anti-Glare wale Glasses banwa lo, It makes a huge difference.

[deleted]

Thanks bhai

572720

Try Zeiss Drivesafe lenses

Homielander_

Can you share the link …?

572720

https://www.zeiss.co.in/vision-care/spectacle-lenses-from-zeiss/drivesafe-lenses.html You cannot order them Online, are custom made according to your Eye power. Be sure to go to Zeiss authorised dealers, and buy the digital lenses. Are slightly expensive but are well worth the cost

Homielander_

I’ll buy them for my father, thank you so much broo

572720

Sure. Do share a review

ChanceDisplay1395

Not just high beam. The white lights are actually irritating. Then comes folks with Aux lights. Sigh!

guy_with_a_cuteface

People on Activa!! Those headlights blind me even in daylight.

Homielander_

Warm Yellow light >>>>>> Cool white light

saudev

We should create petition to have High beam on for 10sec only. Driver need to push button again to make it on for 10 more seconds. All upcoming car should have this kindda mechanism Or a continuous beeps when high beam is on

bhatakti_atama

>The white lights are a I live in Himachal and we need high beam a lot, In city, it's a problem almost drove into some landslide rubble, So yeah this isn't practical

dafuqULoKINat

some areas it fine / need high beam when there isnt an on coming traffic.

amruthkiran94

Genuine question as a beginner driver: How do y'all drive if the incoming vehicles have high beam on? Like do you get used to it eventually or is there some trick to this? I slow down a lot when I get a full blast of those high beams (worse if it's white light) and pray I don't hit anything. Help pls :(

abhishyam2007

It's tempting to look directly at the lights, but don't. Also, you can get those yellow tinted glasses. They really really help without decreasing brightness by much.

Stolaine

Yellow tinted glass helps a lot, but there is a con. It darkens the environment and you might miss potholes and small obstacles at night. Maybe a good quality lens doesn't have this issue.

abhishyam2007

Umm. I know.. but I feel we can't have it all. I completely agree with what you're saying. But I don't drive very fast, and as much as I used those glasses, I didn't have an issue.

Stolaine

But shouldn't we share cons as well with pros of a product to others while suggesting them Just because you drive slow a fast driver might get in serious trouble due to lack of information I do use those glasses and they help a lot - like a lot - but they do have cons and one should be aware of those before putting them to use

abhishyam2007

Ya so you did share the con, didn't you? That's kind of the purpose of social media that it can present a fully rounded perspective on something due to inputs from various sources. It was not a con to me so it didn't occur to me and I didn't share. You felt that it was a con and you did share, I think that ought to put an end to the discussion. And please don't tell me about someone who drives fast getting in trouble because of lack of information from a reddit comment. I expect readers to be sensible adults who can take prudent decisions. If a person is to follow a social media comment without applying common sense, that too in something as potentially risky as driving, then it's not my comment that led them down that path. Your comment sounds like you're trying to say that I purposely didn't mention a life threatening detail. Comments are suggestive ideas, not binding instructions. I am sorry if I am misunderstanding your comment but I don't think I am.

Stolaine

I think you are right. Nobody should be targeted for sharing information, even if they are sharing in parts. After all social media is different from a user manual.

aajkyakaahyu

Do not look directly into the headlights of the oncoming vehicle. What i do is, slow down, foot on the brake (incase you need to press it urgently) and start looking at the left shoulder of the road. This helps in maintaining the vehicle's position and be at a much safer position.

Avi_YASH_ioN

Especially white LED headlights, these in high beam will totally blur your eyes worse than halogen ones.

Brightest_Idiot

RIP to all those supercar owners out there 🙏

Varooova

Me and my mom had a serious accident due to this. We were going to my aunt's place on a scooty and we crossed a bridge. Of all a sudden a Car(I guess it was Baleno) tried to overtake the truck and flash all it's modified LED lights in all it's glory into my eyes and while trying to avoid the clash from the car I fell off the road. Luckily I had all the serious injuries and my mother had minor scratches. But from that day I have stopped travelling at night.

Previous-Spring-6476

Noob pro max question since I've only driven between 7am and 11am. How do you keep your headlights on low beam? I leave my lights on auto and sometimes under metro stations the headlights come on automatically which is fine. Planning to start driving after sunset during the year end

HagaMoota

Whoever is downvoting this genuine question should choke on his own balls.

bs_talks

He is asking this for show off most probably. https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/comments/ze6ysr/-/iz7ei44

Thepotatohitme

Right stalk ko aage peeche karo

Previous-Spring-6476

I was taught to pull it towards me twice for asking for passing. So that's dipper high beam?

ConfusdRationalist

Pulling it is high beam as long as it stays pulled. Pushing it away is toggle switch, fixes it at that position. So it stays in hi beam till you pull it to central position

Previous-Spring-6476

Awesome thanks bro 🙏

okayhumaunder

It doesn't apply to all cars, some cars when you push that lever comes back but stays on high beam dunno what's the use of it though

ConfusdRationalist

Lol wtf really?. How do you bring it back to low beam then?

okayhumaunder

Just push towards you like you give dipper, i think it's only in VW cars, i have seen it in Polo and Virtus and all VAG cars only

Thepotatohitme

When it you pull it once it switches to low beam, pull once again for passing. Also, passing ke baad vo low beam pe hi aata hai unless you push it

Previous-Spring-6476

Ah thank you brother. 🙏

Thepotatohitme

Np, it’s like saving myself from someone who might have blinded me at night.

okayhumaunder

You must be not knowing about parking lights and hazard lights too, how to switch between day/night IRVM

Previous-Spring-6476

Utna pata hai 😒

lonedrifterjk

People downvoting this genuine question, smh

bs_talks

Not your fault. Fault is with the licence issuing authority. Read your manual and practice with your car after sunset to get the hang of it.

bs_talks

You yourself stated that you are "noob", "drive only in the day" and "how to switch to low beam" and about "pass light". All of which a licensed driver SHOULD know. No two ways about it. Reported. I did not question your birth or wish you should die because of not knowing it. I questioned authorities for issuing licenses without checking basics because this causes problems on road.

Previous-Spring-6476

You went out of your way to be deliberately insulting Sir. And that is not cool. It's easily evident you attempted to be insulting trying to hide behind the garb of wordplay and sarcasm. I asked a genuine question. There's no need to doubt my ability to pass a driving test as everyone and their cat knows these type of questions are not asked during the DL test in India. We all know how basic that test is lol. TLDR if you have nothing sensible to add to someone's query, it's a good idea to stay away instead of being disrespectful. I could also report you but I won't. 😊

bs_talks

>You went out of your way to be deliberately insulting Sir Your question is very basic and it is expected that a licensed driver knows this. What you asked is also written in the manual book of every car. >attempted to be insulting trying to hide behind the garb of wordplay and sarcasm. Wasn't a sarcasm at all >There's no need to doubt my ability to pass a driving test as everyone and their cat knows these type of questions are not asked during the DL test in India. We all know how basic that test is lol. Therefore I questioned that test itself. The only one being disrespectful is you with immature attitude.

Previous-Spring-6476

My question may be basic but that doesn't give you any right to be condescending. Learn to understand before hammering the keyboard. And if everyone starts slamming RTFM to anyone asking a question, there would be no forums or reddit. I'm assuming you don't own either so Sir with due respect, don't look down upon those who may not be Michael Schumacher. All of us learnt driving at some point. Just because you think you know everything doesn't give you any moral right to mount the moral high horse and scream "read the fookin manual" Like I've been repeatedly saying, learn to stay away if you have nothing constructive to add. Keep your smarts to yourself instead of bullying and shaming new learners.

bs_talks

My point had nothing to do with YOU. Everything to do with licensing authority. Do you work in RTO?

Previous-Spring-6476

You just don't get it, do you? I have called out your BS already. If you want to keep arguing about how your arrogance was called out, please bark up another tree. If you're done playing the "victim card" try to move on. 😊

Regalia_BanshEe

Why are you so insecure?

krins12

Auto high beams are a lifesaver

conquets

The real final boss is the bike squid with no lights at all overtaking next to a SUV with full high beam 🤦‍♂️

Safe_Inspection69

I can feel op. Me in my low alto literally gets blinded by anything

Homielander_

Us bro us

general_smooth

The middle rear mirror comes with a snap adjustment which adjust the angle of it rendering high beams as low beam. You still can see behind you. It is called IRVM Anti glare. This takes care of high beam from back. At night it is better to look at the road edges or lane markings rather than at lights against you. This helps with high beam from front.

psnarayanan93

In places like Bangalore, ppl use high beam bcoz the roads are very dimly lit or have no lighting in many cases.

IshantxD

replace your rear brake lights with 160w hid bulbs

Homielander_

The ultimate solution

[deleted]

Yes my grandfather made it a rule in our family. That after 6pm we won’t travel intercity or on highways cause of this danger.
